Gift Your Story Arvostelua 

It took me a little while to understand the software, but their customer support is fantastic, and the end product is top quality!

Writing my GiftYourStory was a great experience - eventually! When I received the ‘gift’ from my daughters as an 80th birthday present my first thought was “What a great idea! I’ll get a prompt every week from the publishers, I’ll send them a few a bullet points and they will concoct a wonderful piece of literature on my behalf. All I have to do is sign it off at the end of the process.”
Wrong; I had to write it - all! It was a daunting prospect but the more I got into it the more I enjoyed it. The weekly questions were apposite and they did a good job in triggering memories of time past. It turned out that the writing was not the difficult bit, it was the dealing with the technology. Presumably, most of the authors are towards the elderly end of the spectrum and thus are not fully equipped with modern digital and IT skills. Fortunately, GiftYourStory seems to be well aware of this problem and are very quick and accurate with supplying solutions. I ran myself into a whole host of difficulties and if couldn’t sort them out online (the FAQ’s and their answers weren’t particularly user-friendly) I could always depend on prompt and sympathetic advice and direction from Anna, a real human being. It made life so much easier having her on board. I must have taxed her patience from time to time.
A couple of little quibbles.
It would be good if they could make a clear distinction between ‘frontispiece’ and ‘front cover’. I should have liked to have had an illustration on the cover and a separate dedication page inside the book.
It would also be good if in the hard copy the text could be ‘wrapped around’ (if that is the correct term) the photographs. It was disappointing to find several large areas of blank space that didn’t appear in the online version. It shouldn’t be hard to find a remedy.
Leaving the minor quibbles aside, all-in-all the venture has been a great success. My daughters and my wife - and a few carefully-selected others - are very pleased with the result.
As a result, indeed, I have now been encouraged by my geriatric walking group to write up the history of our endeavours over the past quarter century, a task that I am glad to undertake, knowing that I have the care and support of GiftYourStory behind me.

This is so motivating. I wanted to write my story for my kids but didn't know where to start. The weekly prompts, questions that are relevant are really thoughtful and inspiring.

A very original product, brilliant for family gifts. It can be a little bit daunting at first but if you ever get stuck the support received is next to none. It is very well thought, highly recommend to keep lifetime souvenirs.

Bought this for my dad. It took him a while to get into it, but when he did we couldn't stop him. We've just recieved the book. It's high quality and defintely worth the effort he put into it. Their customer service is really helpful and responsive.
