Terrible customer service. Cant be contacted at the weekend. Contact is through a portal which is not user friendly. Online chat is not available over the weekend and even when it was supposed to be available the last few days was still “offline”

Put wrong named driver on policy and asked them to cancel via chat. They said they could not do it but I had to do myself. I asked them about the cancellation charge which they couldn't even confirm for me on chat. I asked for help as I didn't fully understand the charges, but they didn't give me any details on what I would be refunded. Horrible and un helpful

If I could give no stars I would, unprofessional company. I wanted to do a change of vehicle which I proceeded with. However before the change was actually due to take place I needed to revert back to my old vehicle due to complications with changing over to the new car. There was originally no cost to change from my old car to the new. However when I wanted to cancel the change and keep my old original car on cover there was an additional cost of £80 odd pounds. I spoke to caolan on the live chat and I had requested to chat to a senior staff member/ manager as I was simply cancelling the amendment. Later that day a “manager” called me back to advise that they would waive the charge and go back to my old vehicle. Advised me that she would do this on her part and the policy would go back to normal. Well 17 days later I go in to the portal to do a change of vehicle again and it shows the registration of the car which I was originally going to change to, confused I checked the MID to confirm my suspicion. “Vehicle not insured” the vehicle that the so called manager advised she was keeping on cover and reverting the policy back to normal on was NOT insured. Understandably frustrated, angry and let down by my insurance company I tried to make contact with them on this issue this morning. Through to Caolan again and because it wasn’t straightforward I just requested a number to call to chat to someone rather than having to go back and forth on a live chat. To which I was advised that they don’t have an inbound line to call. I went over the details with him explained and he tried to advise that it was covered I explained what I knew with the mid and then it changed from being insured to an oversight on the underwriters part. As it was getting brushed under the carpet I requested to chat to a manager. To be advised that “our supervisors and managers do not take calls, if you are unhappy with the service you can escalate this as a formal complaint, you can do so in writing to complaints or I can escalate this to be dealt with verbally by the Customer Care Team.”
Then to cover up the fact they messed up he then went back to see if I wanted to change vehicle. Even thought on the initial instance I requested to speak to a manager and that was possible. Completely unprofessional service.
Then got a call from customer care also Caolan- who is extremely rude, basically called me a liar even though I had copies of the chat from Saturday. As he asked if I wanted to proceed with the change to the new car I confirmed yes. But apparently that wasn’t good enough. Tried to offer me £30 compensation. Honestly hope people stay well clear. Roll on renewal.

I have cancelled my policy 9 days in, the chat service isn't productive and when there are issues it is a nightmare to get an answer. If this is how bad the service is at the start i would hate to see if I needed to claim. My policy was paid in full and I had to pay a cancellation fee even after 9 days!!! Still no idea how or when my refund will be back with me. I will update again when I hear.....
Update, emailed the complaints dept and got a call to tell me my refund takes 45days to process.....

Getsetgone - if I ever manage to get them the documents I think they want I may have insurance. The issue is clear communication, there isn't any. Generic emails with no clear instructions. 1 year and I'm gone. This is an automated message please do not reply.

I like the way getsetgo you can chat with the company on the online chat It saves lot of time having to ring up (other insurance companies you have always ring up they have no online chat service).
My renewal price for this year was cheaper then last year as well.

We have had an awful experience with Getsetgo. We went with them because of the massive difference in quotes for my son as a named driver on my wife's policy. Only has his licence 6 months.

The amount of hassle to send stuff through is ridiculous.

My wife needed to apply for a new licence, we had to prove the licence was applied for which she did. We uploaded what we could at the time.

We clearly told the insurer we were doing this. DVA stated it could be 10 days. We sent through prove of the email application.

Getsetgo cancelled our policy on 7/11/22 and are arguing we had adequate notice via email.

No terms and conditions have been sent out at all.

We had cancel notices which were in the customer portal but we were told they were emailed in adequate time..we have proof ie screenshots of the emails received..they werent.

They were under a "recorded delivery" portion of the customer portal and marked as received? Yet we never laid eyes in them.

Then my wife gets a phone call on 7/11/22 am saying the policy will be cancelled allegedly that day.

Policy is cancelled at 4:10pm apparently to give the underwriters time to pull the plug which is 23:59 on 7/11/22.

The real joke is despite us paying the £246 deposit and still being owed a weeks insurance before the next payment, they cancel say weve lost the deposit AND we owe £35 in "arrears" I mean what the!

Yet on the phone cs say we should probably be refunded the deposit minus the cancel charge.

Why were there no terms and conditions given out clearly stating the charges?

and now WE are forced to declare weve had insurance cancelled on any new quote for a policy THEY cancelled.

We were hardly even given enough time for the licence to be issued by DVA and arrive and we had proved it was applied for as requested.

Stay well clear. in 30+ years of driving we have never heard the likes of these cowboys.

And yes we will be complaining... thats a guarantee!!

And the docs were uploaded the very next day.. but not good enough apparently.

What a total inadequate company, I ve uploaded all documents they have asked me for, yet message to say cancelling policy if not received. I explained I'm on holidays for a mth but got family to gather relevant information from house yet still not enough.

Purchased the policy in full 3 weeks before it was due to start owing to low pricing. Then I get requests for copies of driving licence and no claims certificates from prior insurance company. I felt uneasy about sending my driving licence owing to the current world we live in. For no claims I sent them what my prior insurance sent me. Not good enough for Gosetgo. Never in 34 years of driving have I had to provide copies of personal ID and no claims bonus certificates. Rather than run around to try and get more documents, I cancelled the policy today.
12 days before it is due to kick in and still get a 30 pounds charge. I even had to send them back the insurance policy they sent me (?)!! There is no number to call, you deal with a chat box which is frustrating! I would hate to have an accident and try to deal with a claim through this chat box system. Based on my brief dealings with this company I would not use again and I will be watching my bank to make sure I get the funds returned!

Hi I purchased a policy of this company,they asked for licences,nct,no claims discount etc,sent all the required,my no claims discount was in the renewal pack from my last insurer,which is the procedure, everything was going well,until they told me I haven't sent my ncd in,so I rang my last insurance company,they explained it was in renewal pack even told me the page,I spent the whole day on there chat trying to explain it was in renewal pack I sent them ,they either were to lazy to look throught it,or the girl didn't know what she was doing,also paid 60euro to have my wife put on which I never got refunded for,such a pity,Hard to believe really,couldn't take any more stupidity ,so just cancelled the policy,was charged 35euro cancelation fee ,and the fee for adding wife was never returned,I should never have been charged a penny ,for something they left me with no option but to cancel,very dubious.anyway there u go.Still they made over 80euro for themselves,will definitely b warning people against this company very unprofessional .Ps if any one from complaints is reading this my no claims bonus certificate is on page 9 of renewal from last company,that I sent to you in documents,

Worst service. Stay clear. Will not honor a refund, after i had cancelled the policy 2 days before cover was due to start. You cant email them - all emails are from a no-reply address. Total mickey mouse outfit, go to a proper insurance firm and have a better experience and easier communication. If I could give 0 stars i would have.

Absolutely ridiculous!! I'm a brand new driver, I've just passed my test so I do not have my physical full driving license just yet as it hasn't arrived in the post. There is a cancellation charge if you cancel it and if I don't provide your full license by a certain time, they will cancel your policy and you will still get charged. There is no number you can call. There is a live chat and the person was lovely but absolutely no help at all. Apparently nothing he can do for me. Told to wait until the cancellation but sure that means I'll get charged either way. I requested to get a call back to speak to someone. I also got told I'd get referred to management once the policy is cancelled but sure I need management before that and they won't put me through to management. So either way I'm going to get charged. Not given a chance to wait for my full license to arrive. I provided my pass certificate but they did not accept that. I asked could I provide anything else but nope, nothing. They also never stated that they needed a picture of my full license before me taking the policy and taking my money. Absolutely ridiculous!!! I've only had the policy for a few days and getting an £160 charge to cancel it and if I wait until they cancel it due to not providing the documentation they require, I'm going to be charged even more. DO NOT GET THIS POLICY!!!!

I moved to GetSetGo Insurance last year after my previous insurer (of 20+ years) would not give me a decent renewal premium on my car insurance considering my age & 20 years of 'no claims'.. I tried various insurers at the time & GetSetGo gave me a good renewal price based on what I had answered from a questionnaire based on terms of my previous insurer. I have now renewed with GetSetGo since their renewal could not be matched by another company...
