Georg Jensen Damask Arvostelua

Whilst the products are excellent, the shopping experience is terrible, especially if you are UK resident.

I've ordered from Georg Jensen Damask several times previously without issue. However, this recent experience will be my last.

They have decided that shipping to the UK will specifically have a minimum order value of 160 Euros. The website fails if you try and place an order total for any less. This minimum is not published anywhere on their website and AI indicates that Georg Jensen Damask, do not have any minimum order value, other than to qualify for free shipping to certain European Counties......so it's just made up.

This is significant because in the UK, imports with a value of £135.00 are subject to Import Charges, VAT and associated handling fees. This is on top of the 40 Euro freight charge levied at time of purchase.

So, the minimum order of 160 Euros is around 3 Euros above the UK import duty threshold of £135. In simple terms, this added around another 78 Euros to the cost of the transaction, increasing the cost of purchase by around 50%.

Of course, you only discover this when FED EX sends you an invoice for additional duties and charges....by which point it's too late to cancel the order.

You could, of course, return the order. This would involve hours of work, returning the product, packaging it correctly, securing and providing the correct documentation to return an item from outside the UK and the joy of completing applications to reclaim the import charges from HMRC. A time consuming, unpleasant and expensive process in itself.

So, Georg Jensen Damask have arbitrarily decided to place a minimum order value for UK residents, which they do not disclose anywhere. This order value is 3 euros above the UK threshold for imports which can added another 50% to the purchase costs when all duties and charges are accounted......and Georg Jensen Damask are aware of this........but don't care.

It's left to the customer to discover this for themselves.

I'm writing this to save UK customers from the same fate.

Depending on the order, it would be less expensive to get a cheap flight to Denmark and buy them in person.

I'd strongly suggest not purchasing any online orders if you are UK resident, unless you want to pay 50% more for the product. The fact they have chosen this minimum order value specifically for the UK shows the contempt in which they hold their UK customers.

Langsom forsendelse.

Hej !
Jeg bestilte en Damask pyjamas.
Blev meget skuffet over stoffets kvalitet.

Georg Jensen Damask offers high-quality products with reliable international shipping. The duvet covers and table runners are luxurious and beautiful, and the ordering process is smooth. However, international customers should be aware of potential taxes upon delivery. Overall, a solid choice for premium bedding and table linens.

The gift wrapping was PERFECT! Tusind tak. Min kone var meget glad! :)

Super service!!

Fabulous LUXURIOUS damask cotton duvet covers in the euro size we need. Beautiful to behold, beautiful to sleep on. Fast delivery to the US considering it comes from Denmark.

I ordered 10 table runners. Great price, great quality, and lovely. They were easy to order and have then shipped to the US. Highly recommend this company!

I love GJ since traveling to DK and being introduced to the brand by a Danish friend. Your company never disappoints and ships promptly to the USA. I cannot find anything close to GJ quality here in the states. Thank you for expanding your shipping internationally. And I love the particular duvet set I ordered. Soft and beautiful. Tusin Tak!!!

Great quality, fast delivery
