We understand that financial difficulties can arise, and our goal is always to work with our merchants whenever possible. However, this review does not include important context.
Before any contractual remedies were pursued, we made repeated attempts to resolve the matter through telephone calls, text messages, and emails. The merchant acknowledged that the business was experiencing difficulties and agreed to provide financial documentation so that we could evaluate a temporary payment adjustment. Despite additional follow-ups and ample opportunity to cooperate, the requested documentation was not provided, the missed payments were not resolved, and the account remained in default.
Only after those efforts were unsuccessful did we exercise the remedies expressly authorized in the agreement the merchant reviewed and signed.
General Merchant Funding is committed to treating merchants fairly and considering reasonable solutions when they communicate and provide the information needed to evaluate their circumstances. We will work diligently with a merchant who is willing to work with us. At the same time, we must firmly enforce our agreements when repeated efforts to reach a resolution are unsuccessful.
