Gareth James Property Arvostelua

Kash was very helpful and quick to reply and guide through us the rental process.

We put our property up for rent with Kash and had an excellent service. We received multiple offers on the first day of viewings and had tenants move in within a week. Emails were answered very quickly and they organised everything for us including cleaning, gas safety check and inventory check in the space of a few days. We are really impressed with how easy they made everything for us and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Ignored to respond to emails.
Really slow in dealing with any problems at the property.
Withheld large mount from deposit with inflated costs for minor issues.

Gareth James have just rung me to ask how my property search is going - unsolicited and two months after they completely messed up 4 viewings on a house for myself and my friend. Two months ago, I travelled for over an hour to view one of their properties, only to be shown the wrong one. I came back to try to look at it again - though this time it was clear the tenant had not been informed that people were coming round. My friend arranged a viewing to see the property too - the first time Esta did not show up, so my friend went to Gareth James Queens Road branch - still no viewing - and when both my friend and I rang to confirm if her second attempt at viewing the property would go ahead, we were told the property had gone days ago. Esta was incredibly rude to me on the phone, saying she keeps all property details in her head and insisting that my friend doesn’t exist?! Bizarre. Now two months later, I get an unsolicited phone call from her asking how the property search is going! Avoid them at all costs - even by estate agents’ standards, they have no backbone.

Maxwell (from Gareth James, Nunhead location) was an absolute pleasure to work with. His professionalism, extensive knowledge and support was beyond what we have received from any real estate agent. He took his time with us, making the whole process of purchasing a house feel a lot more measured and with the right state of mind.

I would highly recommend working with Maxwell!

Myself and my partner have rented properties for many years and never before have we encountered such an absent and unreliable estate agency service. We had to follow up several times on almost every query, speaking to a different member of staff each time and having to re-explain every situation and question.

During our move we encountered many hurdles and felt largely unsupported by Gareth James staff, which was very surprising to us considering we had to pay considerable agency fees.

Communication was extremely poor and left us with a huge amount of personal belongings left in the property from before our tenancy, which we had to arrange removal of. It’s also worth mentioning that their cleaning staff left all of the gas hobs on for our arrival which was a lovely welcome!

It wasn’t all bad, however, we personally found Esther to be helpful and polite, which is a shame considering we were passed around so frequently and weren’t given one sole contact who was responsible for our case.

It wasn’t easy finding a property but when I called Gareth James, Esther was so helpful and was superb in finding us our first rental home. Esther was always available & was very patient with us (we always had loads of questions).
Esther was a delightful agent to work with & we’ve learnt that’s not common.
We strongly recommend contacting Esther for anyone looking for a home in SE15!

Mark at Gareth James has been wonderful from start to finish - he found us the perfect flat at the perfect price and has stuck with us throughout the whole process - making the path smooth and never giving up whatever the difficulties. He has been skilled and professional, and a calm, friendly and soothing presence throughout.

Thank you Mark - you made it happen!

And I can't recommend you highly enough,

These guys found our tenants in one day. And nice tenants they are too!
Very impressive!
They handled everything well, the only reason to drop one star is the processes were sometimes complicated by dealing with several people at once.
Otherwise full marks for professional and friendly service. I will use them again.

A professional and friendly service. We were working to a very tight timescale and Mark made it happen.

Our sale was handled professionally by Gareth James and Mark Kuch was very effective in keeping everyone aware of the issues so that they could be dealt with.

Great experience with Gareth James for buying a house. Our agent was Mark Kuch and he was fantastic - transparent, easy to get hold of and responsive. Thanks

A straightforward, fair, friendly, professional approach throughout: our experience of dealing with our particular agent, Mark Kuch, and with the entire Gareth James team. From Michael Walker's initial valuation through to completion the process has been characterised by clear communication, courtesy and professionalism. I'd recommend Gareth James to anyone; house buying and selling can be a stressful experience and an expert local estate agent is reassuring and helps smooth the whole process. Thanks to the whole team I dealt with at every stage.

We bought our house through Gareth James and were looked after by Mark Kuch. He was extremely helpful and professional throughout - I would highly recommend!

We had a thoroughly brilliant experience with Gareth James and would highly recommend them to anyone. We dealt pretty much solely with Nikki and she was great- knowledgeable, friendly, professional and honest. As first time buyers we needed a lot of guidance and she was very helpful and patient throughout the whole process.

As the title suggests, we were very impressed with our experience of selling through GJM. Everyone who we dealt with was polite, friendly, and professional.

We had other estate agents value the house: Mark won me over with his knowledge of the local market and honest pricing: we had other agents value the property but from ridiculous suggestions on the asking price, to very high commission. The sorts of estate agents who inflate the price, get you to agree to a higher commission on that basis, and then after a few months on the market drop the price to the more realistic level, but with higher commission.

It was a tough market and GJM got lots of people through the door. When we accepted an offer, which was lower than we'd expected, GJM didn't tell us to take it immediately (I've experienced previously estate agents pushing us to take low offers for an easy sale; £20k more for an offer doesn't make much difference re an estate agent's commission). We were advised we should be able to get more, and indeed turned down a higher offer for a chain free buyer.

Nicki managed much of the process and was superb too: it was meant to be a simple chain and then became complicated when we thought we were near exchange. She persevered and pushed it through, calmly assuring us throughout.

I've mentioned Mark and Nicki: the rest of the team, who were all involved in some way, at some point, were great too.

Outstanding and consistent service provided throughout the selling process.Excellent, Thanks Mark.

We had a difficult house purchase due to the vendor's personal circumstances. Mark Kuch managed the process for us, without his involvement and attentiveness I doubt we would've made it through. Thanks Mark!

A good experience.
GJM were very straightforward to deal with and did what they said they would. Unlike some agents we spoke with, there was no attempt to impress by quoting a high price - Michael Walker said what he thought we could get for our house and that was pretty much what we achieved. Commission rate was competitive and there were no extended tie-in periods in the contract. The overall approach was collaborative.
Happy to recommend.

Our 3rd agent and the ones who sold our house. Excellent service.
