Fusion Academy - Montclair Arvostelua 15

Fusion Academy in Montclair is such an unexpected, wonderful learning environment and we could not be happier with our decision to enroll our HS junior. It doesn't look like "school" and yet it's the most impactful school experience our child has had since kindergarten. Our student was a midyear transfer from a very large, well-regarded public HS where their 504 plan for ADHD was not reliably followed and, despite being socially happy, they were all-but-invisible, unsuccessful at navigating the daily Google classroom-driven bureaucracy of HS life, and academically disengaged. They clearly needed an alternative and we toured Fusion almost on a whim - and enrolled that week. Fusion is a small, relaxed, noninstitutional environment where teachers and administrators are on a first-name basis with students - yet the academics are serious and the work my child is doing is more sophisticated than what was asked of them previously. We had a lot of logistical questions about the daily experience, transferring midyear, and so forth. The head of school is reachable and responsive and our child really connected with her. She answered our questions thoroughly, and the flexibility built into the customized model was a great fit in terms of continuity of study. We just couldn't find a downside to making the switch aside from taking on a tuition bill - and we are so very glad we did. The model of rigorous one-to-one study and the communal homework cafe - a mix of academic work and socialization - works beautifully and my child's grades have never been better. They are thriving, happy, and truly enjoy going to school. We were worried that Fusion would be lonely or socially isolating, but find the opposite is true - students can spend half of their day with peers in communal study or socializing in the lounge. We also find that the staff are responsive, actively work to connect with students, and bring a lot of energy to the campus. Our child shares positive experiences they've had with administrators and teachers and really likes that they are on a first-name basis. Finally, we are also seeing a nascent sense of curiosity, energy, and self-efficacy regarding post-secondary planning. My child had been joylessly trudging through their former HS. We see the start of a path forward at Fusion - my child is finding success at school and has the mental space and energy to think about their future after graduation. I am grateful for Fusion Academy.

Fusion Academy has been a miracle for our teen! We love that the curriculum is built to be completed at a mastery level but also at the student's own pace. Everything is individualized to your child -- from the academics to the daily schedule. The educators are so attentive to my teen's learning style, strengths and weaknesses, and adjust their teaching to achieve academic goals. We are over the moon about Fusion Academy and everyone there!

Great school, their one-on-one model with genuine care and concern for the kids really gets results!

My child is greatly benefitting with the weekly afterschool sessions. We are happy with the communication between child and instructor and parents. They are accommodating and instructors are very knowledgable and patient. Overall, we are having a good experience with Fusion as a supplement/support to our child’s eduction!

In a perfect world, every child could receive the kind of education Fusion Academy Montclair offers. The school's dedicated, energetic teachers customize lesson plans to accommodate each student's aptitudes and personal needs, working one-on-one to ensure they feel seen and heard, which contributes to their growing social confidence, awareness, and empathy among their peers. Fusion's approach is respectful, challenging, motivational, and empathic. The teachers communicate closely with us about our child's progress. Even two months ago, before the school year began, we couldn't imagine our son telling us what he said the other day: that for the first time in his life, he loves school.

I cannot say enough positives about Fusion Montclair! From the moment I contacted them, they were helpful, supportive and accommodating to our needs.They approached our situation with so much understanding. The teachers provided my son with skills and lessons that really shaped and guided him at a time when he needed it the most. They were unbelievably compassionate and understood how best to work with him successfully and efficiently. I am forever grateful for the support.

Our experience with Fusion Monclair has been positive from the beginning tour. It is a school dedicated to tailored educational response that leads to a child strengthening their understanding not only of content, but of themselves as a learner. Fusion is an explicit partner with the student, and the family. They are totally devoted to a "we can do this" response to often traumatic circumstances.

Fusion has changed my daughters life. She struggled in public school and private school before finding Fusion Montclair. The teachers are the most dedicated and supportive educators, they care deeply about the students. Over a year later, my daughter feels safe and supported and really enjoys the unique learning environment Fusion is known for. She is confident and thriving more then she has in the past four years!

Fusion Academy completes my hybrid-school way of life. From inception the staff, including the Director of First Impressions, were/are impeccable. Structure with ease and kindness come together seamlessly in all aspects. Communication with the teachers, mentors, Head of School and Director of Student Development is and has been considerate and forthright!

Our teen has always struggled with school avoidance. Since starting at Fusion, they look forward to school every day and do homework without being told to. They have found a place of radical acceptance and are thriving. Growing in confidence every day as they excel in their school work. Wish we had found Fusion years ago.
