Loan Depot has so far proven t be a transparent process. Our agent Will T. has walked both my husband and I through the this very carefully. Our previous experience with a popular American bank was surprisingly deceptive. Then we tried an online bank to begin the process and were pushed with a hard sell and a notary at my door 2 days later signing papers before ever seeing an actual estimate. Thanks Will for sticking with us.

Mortgage shopping enhanced by freerateupdate.com connected me to many lenders, albeit too many. To get that 5th star, they would need to inform me whom they intend to send my data to, and allow me to select just the few that based on metrics and ratings they show, make sense to work with. Or, take my core data, profile it, match to lenders looking for that, get bid rates, present the rates all at once, on an ongoing competitive bid basis over 3 days letting them outbid each other. The volume of calls is good for shopping, but it is not efficient.

The process was very simple and the loan officer Matt Angelo was nice, responsive and very easy to work with. I would recommend Cross Country for a re-finance.

All parts of the process were handled professionally and pleasantly.
