Upon placing an order for the 2014-15 Manchester United Away Shirt on the Football Shirt Collective website, I was informed via email by Mike at the Football Shirt Collective several days later that this football shirt was no longer in stock.

Despite the disappointing news, I was offered either a 20% discount on my next order or a full refund of my current order. I chose a full refund of my current order and my refund request was processed the next day.

Great customer service

It was a bit of a gamble to order hard-to-find, somewhat expensive shirts online from an overseas vendor (I'm in the U.S.), but it paid off. Ordering is easy. Pricing was straightforward. The order shipped quickly, but it took a little longer to arrive than hoped. But that wasn't the Football Shirt Collective's fault.

The only thing that brought the overall experience down was not knowing that the shirts vary a bit in design. For example, one used glued-on embroidered patches, while the other used the same design embroidered directly on the shirt. The two techniques produce subtle, but noticeable differences. The shirts I ordered also have vinyl applications that were placed a little differently on each one. Again, subtle but noticeable when compared side by side. I would have still bought the shirts (in fact, I just bought another), but it would have been good to know this was a possibility up front.
