Tuotteen tiedot
No more terrible disaster could befall your people than for them to fall into the hands of a Hero Arrakis, or Dune, is a planet of nothingness – its torched wastelands are home to a fierce nomadic people, and under the endless deserts stalk gargantuan sandworms the size of starships. It is a place where water is sacred – ‘a substance more precious than all others’ – where to shed a tear is the most taboo of all sacrifices. And yet the planet is also humanity’s sole source of ‘spice’, the mysterious, addictive substance that underpins the workings of the galaxy-wide Padishah Empire. To control Arrakis is to control all. And it is across its vast expanses and in its arid caves that Frank Herbert’s epic adventure of political subterfuge and messianic deliverance is played out, a story that has become the best-selling science-fiction novel of all time, and is considered by many to be the genre’s greatest work. Winner of a D&AD Design awards 2016 Wood Pencil

I read Dune as a freshman in high school year. It was the edition with the illustrations by John Schoenherr. In my college freshman year, my mom says she didn't, but I know she threw out my copy of The Illustrated Dune, along with all my sci-fi and graphic novels. So I want you to get my full meaning when I say that this edition of Dune, illustrated by Sam Weber, goes a long way towards filling that void.

Exceptional quality! The book is a piece of art between the calligraphy, art design and book format that give 1000% justice to that iconic story of Dune. Can’t wait to have more money to buy the other book from the collection.

In my honest opinion it's one of the best if not the best editions of Dune. Great quality of paper, printing and very stylish slipcase.

When it comes to special editions of books I always find myself disappointed due to the quality, however for Folio Society books they’re are the highest of qualities and i’ve so far not been disappointed. The paper is expensive and the art is beautiful and by just feeling the book, you know its worth the price you pay.

I was not familiar with the society until my son-in-law told me about it. I was very impressed with this edition. It was a gift for my son-in-law, and he and I both agree that the quality is excellent and well worth the price.
