First time I have used Fabworks - excellent. Ordered a sample which came return of post - ordered the fabric, which is really beautiful, and this came next day delivery. What a great company to deal with and what beautiful fabrics. As a seasoned dressmaker/tailor I will be using this company forever!

My first order and gosh how happy am I 👏. The fabric that I ordered was lightweight Oxford cotton, have to say THE BEST fabric I have received. Can’t wait to make it up!

A great shop with a huge selection of amazing fabrics.

The staff were all friendly and welcoming. A particular shout out to Stephen who went out of his way to help me as a bloke with very little sewing experience.

A cashmere remnants ‘birthday’ bundle made two hot-water-bottle covers from some smaller remnants and the largest brown cashmere has made a fantastic lining for the hood and top part of a rather scratchy Harris tweed cape. Heavenly to touch and a joy to sew. Delighted.

Having visited the shop I knew the fantastic quality of the fabrics on sale and how knowledgeable the staff were. So I was happy to order some beautiful Herringbone Tweed in the birthday sale. The package arrived super quick and well packaged. I received free lining and thread as part of the birthday order, as well as a beautiful snood as an extra gift. The fancy dressmakers pins included as well were a lovely surprise. I can’t recommend Fabworks highly enough. Fantastic service, great products, with local, sustainable ethos.

Love this wonderful fabric store! I have lots of fabric purchased from this store over the years and they never fail to delight! Such good quality, great prices, wide width, speediest delivery and the most wonderful customer service from George. George telephoned me as I had made a mistake with my order, but also enclosed a reel of matching cotton and reimbursed me for the fabric ordered by mistake, which was a lovely surprise and a really lovely gesture. This company really does go above and beyond to sell the most gorgeous quality fabrics and are extremely helpful. They are delivered the following day if you order early the previous day. Marvellous!!! Fabworks is absolutely amazing in all respects, which is a rarity when buying online these days. Thank you George and your wonderful company, Fabworks! I'll be back xxx

Beautiful fabric for a good price.
Also, they ship it fast (I did buy it for a last minute project and it arrived faster than it was supposed to) and their employee was quite helpful when I called them to ask about a specific fabric (he actually went into the shop to check on it and sent me photos for reference).

I did not have a good experience with Fabworks. They mis-sold a polyester/cotton mix as pure cotton to me. They did not have any certification or labels to prove that the material was cotton. The burn test was not that of a 100% cotton, and even a teacher of textile identification and several others who work with fabric agreed that it was a polycotton. It is disappointing that they mis-sell their fabric.

George couldn't have been more helpful, and went over and above in terms of service. Lovely, generous gifts included, which are, like the fabric, excellent quality.
I could not recommend this company highly enough. Will definitely buy again. Tamsin

Horrible experience with this place is an understatement.

Yesterday I was refused entry to the shop after being told they do not recognise medical exemptions for wearing a face covering, and will not allow anybody into their shop without one.

They have created their own illegal policies and by doing this have broken several discrimination and equality acts.

They are firstly refusing entry to the disabled, and secondly requesting private medical information as proof of disability.

I know my human rights, but unfortunately a lot of individuals don't, and this business is either turning them away at its doors, or coercing them into wearing a mask to gain entry when they are not required to by law and should not due to medical reasons. Unfortunately for Fabworks, coercion is a criminal offence.

As you can see by all of the passive aggressive handmade signs plastered all over the doors of the establishment, they seem to have made up their own law but also don't seem to be able to understand basic ACTUAL law. You cannot just say "we reserve the right to" and then follow with whatever discriminatory terms and conditions you feel like.

I hope this experience encourages the owner and staff to educate themselves on how to properly treat other human beings.

wonderful shop - good quality fabrics, affordable prices and really speedy delivery - everything i expect from a dissent shop! Highly recomended.

After reading the previous reviews I was initially unsure about ordering from this business but one of the fabrics shown on their website caught my eye so I decided to take a chance anyway. My order arrived 4 days later (it was placed before a weekend) and the fabric is exactely as described on the website, if not better. After further browsing, it appears that their team is quite passionate about fabrics which seems to be reflected in their beautiful and unusual fabric range. The fabric descriptions are also thoughtfully written and truly inspiring. I am very pleased to have discovered this shop and will definitely order from them again.

BEWARE!
Profiting out of COVID selling fabric for face masks then claiming said fabric might be infected?! Reassuring to see the foul experience I’ve had is not exclusive to me - this company are selling fabric that bares little resemblance to description in colour or type of material because it’s poor quality they refuse to refund and then charge a random sum, so theft, misdescription and very ugly responses not a professional business AVOID.
