I'm disappointed, but not surprised, that Ezoic flagged my honest review on Trustpilot for "harmful or illegal content." My review simply shared my frustrating experience with their $20 payout threshold and unresponsive customer support.
In contrast, Google AdSense has a more publisher-friendly approach:
- Lower payout threshold for publishers that don't want to work with AdSense again: $10
- Timely final payments: Within 90 days of account closure (if balance > $10)
Ezoic's attempt to silence critics and maintain an unrealistic payout threshold raises concerns. I urge potential publishers to research thoroughly and consider alternative platforms.
Update: Ezoic's censorship only reinforces my decision to leave their platform.
Advice to publishers:

Google, being one of the largest companies in the world, with over 2 million active websites using AdSense, has the ability to offer lower payout thresholds due to their vast scale. As you mentioned correctly, their minimum payout upon account closure is $10. With that in mind, we’d ask you to consider what would happen if you approached Google and asked them to pay out $7 because you felt their $10 minimum was too high. It’s unlikely they would accommodate that request, as their terms are in place to ensure sustainability.
Compared to other premium monetization platforms, Ezoic's $20 minimum payout threshold is one of the lowest in the industry. We carefully balance our costs, which include transaction fees, to ensure we can keep supporting publishers of all sizes. While we understand that a lower threshold might seem preferable, it wouldn’t be feasible to reduce it further without affecting the entire publisher ecosystem we support.
Reducing the payout threshold in individual cases would not only be unfair to other publishers who operate within the same guidelines but would also make it difficult for us to maintain the quality of service we strive to offer. That’s why we require all publishers to carefully read and agree to our terms and conditions before starting with Ezoic.
We welcome all feedback, both positive and negative, and strive to improve based on constructive criticism. However, your initial review included language that suggested if we made an exception to our terms, your review could shift to a more positive one. We encourage honest and open dialogue and will always engage constructively.

Ezoic Premium Is A Big Trap
They have a package called Ezoic Premium aiming to help publishers earn higher. They charge a monthly amount for this service. However, this monthly charge isn't fixed. It can be increased or decreased. It's programmed so that it takes away most of the money you get from this campaign. It seems like they are more focused on their revenue than yours. You almost get nothing. At some point, you will feel they are literally snatching away revenue from your wallet. Disappointing. I don't recommend anyone upgrade to their premium plan at all.

Looking at the performance of your account from June 7th to September 30th, the return on your Ezoic Premium investment (ROI) has been 64.02%. This percentage represents your Premium earnings after subtracting the monthly fees. Your EPMV also went up by 24% from May to June (when you started your current plan). Our Premium model is structured so that publishers always earn more than the cost of the plan—it’s designed and guaranteed to be a net positive for you.
In addition to the earnings from Premium demand partners, you’ve also received valuable extras, such as advanced analytics, free Flickify and Writio credits, which alone are worth over a third of your monthly fee. These tools provide even more opportunities for growth.
The claim that Premium is "programmed" to take away most of your earnings is simply untrue. In fact, Premium is designed to maximize what you earn. Based on the clear increase in revenue that’s reflected in your dashboard, this review seems to overlook the actual ROI you've achieved.

I recently launched a new food blog with 50 posts, each around 2,000-2,500 words, and my site started ranking on Google right away. However, after adding my site to Ezoic last week, it was immediately rejected due to "content issues." I'm baffled because my content is well-written and my site has clear navigation, unlike some sites I've seen that Ezoic allows, which have much lower quality.
On top of that, their lack of support is frustrating—no email or live chat assistance is available. It feels like I wasted my time with Ezoic, and I definitely don't recommend them.

If your site was rejected, it likely did not meet one or more of these requirements. Without you providing us with additional details such as your email or website, we unfortunately are not able to investigate this further. You should be able to see in your Ezoic Dashboard if your website is eligible for a re-review in a few days.
Regarding support, the options available are based on publisher level, but every publisher can receive assistance through the Ezoic Community, where our team is available to provide personalized guidance. If you'd like us to take another look, please provide the necessary details and we will be happy to look into it again and review the rejection.

Trotz minimaler Anzeigen-Einstellungen war meine Seite überladen, was die Performance massiv beeinträchtigt hat. Die Einnahmen standen in keinem Verhältnis zu den entstandenen Kosten und dem Aufwand. Auch in meinem Netzwerk von Blogger-Kollegen häufen sich die schlechten Erfahrungen mit Ezoic. Insgesamt eine enttäuschende Erfahrung, die ich nicht weiterempfehlen kann.

Bezüglich der Anzeigen: Es ist wichtig zu wissen, dass du als Seitenbetreiber immer mehr Anzeigen siehst als der durchschnittliche Nutzer, da du die Seite häufiger besuchst und nicht abspringst. Die genaue Anzahl der Anzeigen pro Seite lässt sich in unseren Big Data Analytics einsehen. Wenn du den Fokus auf Benutzererfahrung gesetzt hattest, aber dennoch deiner Meinung nach zu viele Anzeigen angezeigt wurden, dann nur, weil unser System zu 100 % sicher war, dass die individuellen Nutzer dadurch nicht beeinträchtigt werden. Die User-Experience-Metriken werden stets überwacht und negativ beeinträchtigende Anzeigenkonfigurationen automatisch vermieden.
Zu den technischen Problemen: Ohne nähere Details können wir die Ursache deiner technischen Probleme leider nicht nachvollziehen. Wir bieten zur Implementierung von Ezoic auch eine Code-Snippet-JS-Methode an, mit der keine technischen Probleme von unserer Seite aus entstehen sollten.

Added Ezoic to my website and it crashed the site.
Tried a few days later giving them the benefit of the doubt and it crashed it again causing all sorts of issues.
They are a complete waste of time and I’d advise everyone to stay well away from them.

Ezoic's high standards, aligned with Google’s policies, are crucial to maintaining quality across the network. Your site wasn’t approved because it didn’t fully meet the guidelines for high-quality content required by both Ezoic and Google, even after a second review.
Unfortunately, since you've already applied twice, you can’t reapply again - at least with the same website. This isn’t due to any fault on our end, but rather because the necessary improvements weren’t made. Allowing repeated reviews without meeting the criteria would be unfair to other publishers who apply for monetization and have to wait longer because some sites require multiple re-reviews without proper adjustments. We strive to maintain a fair and efficient process for everyone. Thank you for your understanding.

I couldn't be more thrilled with Ezoic and their services. For the past year, the Adsense change to CPM, and Google's relentless Core Updates, had pretty much killed my site's revenue.
Upon switching to Ezoic I could almost immediately see a change around and my revenue has seen some very high returns.

Ezoic asked for my clouflare info. They asked for my cloudflare info for nameservers i gave them today i woke up and all my A records for my websites were gone and replaced with cnames redirecting to ezoic websites and all the websites went down.

Cname records have been added again and a records deleted again i have screenshot proof.

We offer different setup options for connecting with Ezoic, including Cloudflare, which you chose. Ezoic has been a certified Cloudflare partner for over 10 years, and the CNAME records being redirected is a standard part of the Cloudflare setup. This allows Ezoic to act as a proxy for your website and load ads server-side, optimizing performance and revenue.
The Ezoic system views your site in the same way as Cloudflare does, essentially ‘sitting’ between the site and your users. This has a number of benefits - primarily it means that the Ezoic system does not have to access nor can it change any code, or anything on the back end of your site. So your content and coding remains the same and you retain full control of whether your site is connected with Ezoic.
Ezoic does never store your Cloudflare password. It is used once to authorize/create a token for Ezoic to make changes to the DNS Records (so that traffic can be routed through Ezoic at the DNS level), then that password is deleted.
It's important to review our documentation before starting the setup to fully understand the cloud-setup. You can disconnect from Ezoic at any time with a simple click in your Ezoic dashboard, changing your DNS entries back to the original ones.

Des bugs sans support technique !
Je suis resté plusieurs années chez Ezoic, malgré un nombre de bugs impactant le fonctionnement de mon site, le rendant parfois inutilisable. Jusqu'à lors, mon contact et le support Ezoic fonctionnait, puis depuis quelques mois si vous ne rapportez pas assez, vous n'avez plus aucun support, MEME SI LEUR SYSTEME EST DEFAILLANT, ce qui est totalement aberrant. Il n'est pas possible de créer de ticket ou d'avoir un contact avec un technicien (encore une fois, je parle de problème lié à leur système).
Vous avez donc le choix de garder un système qui ne fonctionne pas, ou de partir d'Ezoic.
Mon trafic est entre 50 000 et 100 000 visites par mois, ce qui est trop faible pour pouvoir contacter le support...

Autrement, j'ai déjà fait des tickets, vous pouvez regarder dans vos références le numéro #381050, j'avais créé ce ticket car votre système RGPD empêchait l'accès à mon site. Sinon, si vous voulez une autre référence du ticket que j'ai créé, vous pouvez regarder le #390368, qui provoquait des ralentissements considérable sur mon site. Et maintenant, comme j'avais encore des ralentissements à cause de votre service, JE dois passer par la communauté pour régler votre soucis ? Et c'est mon avis qui est injuste...

Ezoic wastes a bunch of your time…
Ezoic wastes a bunch of your time trying to force you to do bizarre stuff like change your nameservers just to put up some ads—ads that make them money on your website! Ezoic blocked my company's account for "content." No option to reconsider after taking hours and hours setting it up because Ezoic fails to read DNS records correctly. Our site is a very professional and high-quality site. It has just been a terrible experience with the service, and Ezoic's support just adds insult to injury.

You can also integrate via the industry-standard code snippet/script. Additionally, you can remove the cloud integration in 5 minutes by simply changing back your nameservers - we change nothing on your actual site.
Our primary goal is to make our publishers more money; we only succeed if you succeed. Regarding your account block, we adhere to strict content policies to ensure compliance with Google and other partners. If you believe there was a mistake, please have a look at your dashboard to see if you are elegible for another review. We're committed to helping our publishers succeed and appreciate your input.

I have used Ezoic as an alternative to AdSense on my sites in the past and saw a 3-500% increase in revenue.
However, the recent rule of an applicant being allowed to apply only twice is sickening.

Each site is reviewed by humans, which takes time and ensures the quality of the sites in our system. Instead of reapplying directly after being denied, please make sure you meet all the criteria from our Google approval checklist before applying again. Your feedback is valuable and helps us maintain high standards for all our publishers.
Ezoic hosting was disabled without prior notice, and now unable to log in to my WordPress dashboard for easy migration.
When I started using Ezoic, they convinced me to switch to Ezoic AWS hosting for better performance. However, they began showing numerous unwanted ads on my website, even though I chose the User Experience focused ads setting.
Now, my website traffic has dropped significantly, and they disabled Ezoic hosting for my website without giving me a grace period or sending any official email about the hosting removal.
Because of this, I am unable to log in to my WordPress dashboard. The worst part is that without access to WordPress, I can't easily move my website from Ezoic hosting to Hostinger.
I literally begged them to enable my hosting for just 24 hours so that I could migrate my website using WordPress, but their support/IT team is not willing to help me.
What kind of company has Ezoic become?
In the beginning, Ezoic used to care about people, but now they have become something else ...EVIL.

Regarding the ads, you can adjust the ad setup to be as light as possible by disabling different ad types. If you don't like a particular ad being shown, you can simply disable that ad type or remove the placeholder. If you let our system optimize, we always find a balance between revenue and user experience. When an ad is shown, our system ensured it doesn't negatively impact UX.
Ezoic hosting is a free, self-serve service. We did provide a grace period for you to migrate your hosting, and we're glad our support team could eventually assist you in migrating your site successfully.
Ezoic remains fully committed to our publishers and their success. We take pride in our dedication to providing the best possible platform, support and services. Opinions from a newbie blogger
Opinions from a newbie blogger- they were quick to get me on board. Then I quickly realized this was a big mistake on my behalf.
Pros- quick onboarding service. Allows small blogs to monetize.
Cons- customer service is non-existent after you've signed up. Their crappy platform killed my site speed. Their ads are spammy as hell, despite setting the backend to favor user-friendliness (less ads). High learning curve for newbies. Endless rabbit hole of excuses on Ezoics end (e.g. all their tech support can do is repeatedly recommend "use leap" without postivie results or guidance on how to use it). They make it hard to leave once you've onbboarded.
My site crumbled from 50k page views per month to 1k. And I suspect a lot of it was due to site speed and site experience issues as a result of ezoic.
Will never use or recommend them again.
I've since started a new site. I will hit 50k page views and sign up for mediavine instead.
Ezoic sells a false hope. Stay away :)

Regarding site speed and user experience, it's crucial to integrate through nameservers and use Ezoic Cloud Caching and Leap with the correct configuration. This setup is key to optimizing site speed and overall performance. While adding ads can slightly impact site speed, Ezoic Ads are the fastest available, and no other provider of monetization solutions will serve your site faster than Ezoic when properly set up.
Our system always finds a balance between user experience and revenue. When you, as a publisher, visit your own site frequently, you will see more ads than the average user because you spend more time on the site and don't bounce due to ads. For a more accurate view of ad density and its impact, you can use Big Data Analytics. This tool provides insights into important UX metrics, confirming that our ads are designed not to negatively impact the user experience. Additionally, you can adjust the ad setup to be as light as possible by disabling different ad types and settings - we offer extensive customization options.
It´s also worth noting that there have been multiple Google updates over the past few months, which could also be a factor in your traffic decline.

I've been using Ezoic for a long time, and it's a great ad network. They provide high RPM, and whenever I need help or face any website problems, they are always there to assist me.

Anfangs Top, dann das komplette Gegenteil
Anfang 2023 gewechselt und durchaus steigenden Umsatz verzeichnet. Nicht wie erhofft, aber besser als Adsense. Doch dann wurde es für Ezoic unmöglich, den Pagespeed meiner Seite zu halten. Ohne Änderungen an meiner Seite ging es über Monate hinweg immer weiter bergab, und der Support schaffte es nicht, das Problem zu beheben. Dazu kamen extrem schlechte Umsätze und durch das HCU-Update von Google auch sinkende Besucherzahlen, für die Ezoic aber natürlich nichts konnte. Aber man muss sagen, dass ab dem Tag der "Premium-Mitgliedschaft" die Umsätze "sanken" und keiner wollte es mir glauben. Schlussendlich zog ich die Reißleine und wechselte die DNS-Server, um meine Seite wieder halbwegs schnell zu bekommen. Das klappte auch sofort, was mir einiges über die LEAP-Möglichkeiten von Ezoic aussagte. Viel Bling Bling und unzählige Möglichkeiten, aber schlicht keinen Erfolg. Nach dem Wechsel war bereits 24 Stunden später die Verweildauer von unglaublich schlechte 15 Sekunden auf 1:23 Minuten angestiegen und die Absprungrate fast 40 % geringer. Ezoic behielt jedoch die letzten 6 Wochen Einnahmen ein. Einfach mal so. Einnahmen, die meine Website ordnungsgemäß erwirtschaftet hat. Für mich jetzt eine Sache für den Anwalt und ein absolutes NO-GO. Meine Erfahrung am Ende: FINGER WEG!

Danke für dein ausführliches Feedback. Es enttäuscht uns sehr, dass du mit unserer Plattform unzufrieden bist und wir bedauern es zutiefst, dass es zu solchen Missverständnissen gekommen ist. Gerne möchten wir einige Punkte klarstellen:
Site Speed: Deine Seite hat ein sehr anspruchsvolles Design mit vielen Bildern und Medien, was erheblich zur Ladezeit beiträgt. Auch nach Entfernung der Ezoic-Integration bestehen weiterhin Probleme mit den Core Web Vitals. Zum Beispiel liegt der LCP-Wert auf Mobilgeräten bei 11 Sekunden, was auf generelle Optimierungsbedarfe hinweist, unabhängig von Ezoic. Leap hilft unzähligen Webseiten, ist aber kein Wunderheilmittel.
UX: Unsere Daten belegen, dass die durchschnittliche Besuchsdauer im Monat vor der Entfernung der Integration über 2 Minuten lag, mit einer durchschnittlichen Engaged Time/Visit von über 45 Sekunden und einer Absprungrate von nur 30%. Die von dir genannten 15 Sekunden können wir daher nicht nachvollziehen.
Umsätze: Seit Oktober 2023 ist der EPMV konstant gestiegen, selbst während der für viele Publisher herausfordernden Phasen im Q1 und Q2. Obwohl deine Besucherzahlen durch Google-Updates gesunken sind, hat Ezoic mehr Umsatz pro 1000 Besuche erzielt als zuvor. Mitte April 2024 erreichte deine Seite sogar den höchsten EPMV in deiner Zeit mit Ezoic seit 2023. Ezoic hat also, trotz der sinkenden Besucherzahlen, stets weiter optimiert – und das auch erfolgreich.
Premium: Deine Aussage "Ezoic behielt jedoch die letzten 6 Wochen Einnahmen ein. Einfach mal so." ist ohne Kontext nicht fair. Du hast dich bewusst für einen mehrjährigen Premium-Vertrag entschieden, um Zugang zu verschiedenen Vorteilen wie kostenlosen Premium-Phasen, SEO-Audits, Site Reviews und mehr zu erhalten. Diese Vorteile erfordern erhebliche Investitionen von Ezoic und daher ist es nur fair, dass beide Parteien ihren Teil der Vereinbarung einhalten - was in deinem Fall leider nicht geschehen ist. Wir legen großen Wert darauf, dass unsere Partner die Vertragsbedingungen vorab sorgfältig prüfen, da dies ein klares Verständnis der gegenseitigen Verpflichtungen und Vorteile gewährleistet, um Missverständnisse zu vermeiden.
Es ist äußerst bedauerlich für uns, dass Ezoic trotz unserer umfangreichen Unterstützung und investierten Ressourcen einen negativen Eindruck bei dir hinterlassen hat. Wir haben viel Zeit und Mühe aufgewendet, um dir optimal zur Seite zu stehen. Unsere Teams, einschließlich deines Publisher Success Managers und diverser Engineers, haben kontinuierlich daran gearbeitet, deinen Bedürfnissen gerecht zu werden. Wir haben stets alle Mittel eingesetzt, um dich bei der Leitung deiner Webseite bestmöglich zu unterstützen. Wir haben die Zusammenarbeit mit dir immer sehr geschätzt, daher bedauern wir umso mehr, dass diese nun zu Ende geht.
Wir wünschen dir viel Erfolg bei deinen zukünftigen Projekten und hoffen, deine Seite findet zu alter Stärke zurück.
