The best of the best move constantly due to work been using Express for 15 years couldn’t ask for anymore they go above and beyond amazing work from the surveyor office staff and the crew on the vans

The initial contact I had with Express Removals was very pleasant with punctual exchanges of emails. I was making a booking on behalf of my 84 year old mother who we were moving from her home of nearly 60 years. A very tense and emotional time for her, so needed to be treated very 'gently'.

I was requested by Karen and Luis in the office to provide videos of all rooms in the house showing all items that needed to be moved along with a running commentary explaining what had to be taken and what was going to be left, which I performed. The videos were viewed by Express Removals, advice was provided by Luis regarding numbers of boxes required, since I was no expert in what was required, and a price was provided that I accepted and paid in full. Three days later, without me providing any further information, Karen then got back in touch with me to say that the 'Transport Manager' had had 'had another look at the videos' and thought that it may be a 'tight fit' on the one vehicle so it would cost us £300 plus VAT more - a bit unfair after previously agreeing a lower price with the same information that had already been provided - a seemingly unfair ploy to adopt to charge more for the move. Through subsequent phone calls, I was advised that they may have to leave a 'few boxes' behind if they couldn't be fitted onto the first vehicle, something that I could address in my own vehicle.

Moving day arrived and 'Bigsie' (an experience packer with the business) said that he'd been shown three videos of the property (I'd sent five videos) so had no idea what was upstairs - I showed him the messages I'd sent to Karen and Luis. The team that arrived was very pleasant and worked extremely hard - I had no issue with their service. They expressed no surprise to hear the issues created by 'office staff' when I explained the situation around the booking described above. When they had packed up the vehicle, the 'few boxes' that couldn't be fitted into the vehicle amounted to the oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, kitchen table, two chests of drawers and about 40 boxes!!! A complete mis-judgement by the office team which caused a massive amount of stress and anxiety to my 84 year old mother and something that was completely unnecessary.

When the unpacking at the other end started, the carpet protection that I had paid for hadn't been included so on a very wet day, mud and leaves were traipsed into the property that required the carpets to be cleaned again after the move day. I called the office to flag the omission around the carpet protection and spoke to Karen and asked her what the company would do about the filthy carpets after their omission of the protection - I was met with silence on the phone. I followed up with an email and asked her again whether she'd like to make a comment - again no response was received.

A final 'offer' from Express Removals was for an additional £900 plus VAT they would take the final items as it was obvious that it was way more than just a few boxes that could not fit onto the original lorry. I declined this offer as I'd already had stomached more than enough from this company. Instead, I arranged with a friend to go back to the old house the following weekend to pick up the 'few boxes' that were left behind - this amounted to two full transit-sized vans - the complete mis-judgement of what was required was something that I found ridiculous especially from a company that purported to be removals experts.

A very disappointing experience and one that caused a vulnerable, elderly woman extreme stress at an already stressful time in her life. A company that I would not recommend others to use.

Express Removals were quick to quote, and followed up with a site visit. They gave us good advice and I like being able to use refundable boxes, which they have now collected. Our team were Geordie, Craig and Tommy. They were excellent! The move involved lots of stairs, and they didn't complain at all.

Great team from getting the quote to finding me a slot at very short notice.
On the day the 2 guys gave 100 percent they certainly knew there job.
Left me a very organised home.
This is the 2nd move I've had done with Express Removals I would recommend them to anyone.

Good communication throughout, and a good price. The cheerful, helpful and efficient crew were very respectful of my property, and amazingly quick considering the number of steps up to the house. Their competence was reassuring and made the experience a lot less stressful.

Great office staff set the whole thing up .guys arrived before time at the storage unit which was great loading all the contents from the lockup to the van with care and delivered to me in London in very good time unloading was quick and again careful with the items .the guys themselves were great polite funny and respectful had no problems at all. Express Removals are fantastic thank you .

I cannot thank Ryan and Bear enough. They were polite and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. They then returned the next day and moved my son and his family. We had no damage to our property or contents. The office staff are also very friendly and efficient. I am extremely happy to recommend the company.

We recently had to vacate our flat,for works,in sheltered accommodation at Bexhill-on-Sea, Alexander Court,all in the Autumn of life.
Within the complex, then move back in, the said removals firm, did an excellent move,out and in,just to add,I have had movers in the past,so at 82 years old,they are as good as you can have,any where else,please say a Thank you! A late response due to COPD.

Highly recommend!! I have used express removals many times and each time they never fail me the staff is brilliant! So friendly and so kind so quick and efficient they handle everything with care and work around my busy schedule I couldn’t recommend them enough. I promise you wouldn’t be disappointed

Would defiantly recommend! staff are very friendly, brilliant service and so helpful too they go above and beyond! I would defiantly use express removals again! So reliable I did mess around with my times and dates but they worked around me although I expected the extra fee there wasn’t any! Wouldn’t go to anyone else

I wouldn’t recommend Express Removals Limited. as a company. I was originally very impressed, the surveyor was very friendly and helpful, love that they provide free moving boxes, but communication has been appalling. We were given the wrong time for collection, I checked around 4 times and was told they would arrive between 8 and 9am on moving day, but they arrived at 6.30am. The movers hadn’t been informed that we were moving from Kent to Yorkshire and were in a very bad mood. The van was not packed professionally, our two king size mattresses, around 70kg each, were at the very top of the load, and as a result they broke our dining table, vacuum cleaner, chest of drawers, wall clock, many plants, kettle, toaster and left a few things behind. I wanted to file an insurance claim with them for the broken items, under their liability 8.3.1, and sent them all the required details/photo’s, however Express never filled an insurance claim. It wasn’t until I contacted the insurance company directly that I realised no claim had been put in and the removal company wanted to do this outside the insurance, but had failed to inform us of this. In the end they paid us directly, for some of the damage, but this took an ongoing two-month battle with them.
We are obviously very unhappy with our experience with Express Removals but they have ignored all my complaints, and other times simply not replied to my emails or answered my questions.
We are very disheartened and disappointed by this company and would advice others to seek out another removal company option.

We have always used Express Removals to move. They offer very good prices for their service. They always arrive on time and always ask where the boxes are going at the new house. They handle all boxes and household items with care. I have never had any complaints and will always recommend them to other people. They are definitely my first and only choice for removals.

Thank you Express Removals! From office staff to the removal guys, you made me feel so at ease in my stressful move. I can not thank you enough, everything was dealt with efficiently and with compassion. Thank you again. Will use again in the future and recommend to my family and friends.

We used express removals because thay were highly recommended and that did not disappoint Thay we're brilliant the whole team from start to finish. The guys were respectful with our property and belongings couldn't of asked for a smoother move! Would always highly recommend to anyone

On the day as the guys got a bit too comfortable during the unloading, things were being tossed around as they see fit. Two guys taking the mick out of my property, using items as weapons to play fight.
Many items were broken/damaged due to little care being taken, when I had someone round for a quote I was told they'd be a standard level of insurance, but when speaking to "admin" there is no cover.
Considering I spent (overpaid) the best part of a grand on this "service", you'd think they'd be honest!
Honestly wish I'd done it all myself, my property was near-on impossible to walk around as everything was dumped wherever as they clearly wanted to finish early.

Genuinely lovely team, very polite and very nice. My wife took the day off work and the team was really accommodating and worked well to get everything we asked for done. Would highly recommend. I thought the price was very reasonable as well.

Well unfortunately my experience with Express Removals was slightly tarnished as we had a mix up with the date of my removal plus we were quoted for a complete home removal of a 4 bedroom house when only the front room and lounge were going so I'm pretty sure we were charged hundreds, if not thousands over what the price should have been as the chaps that did it only half filled a really small van but with a few frantic phonecalls with the EXTREMELY helpful and friendly stuff our move from Eastbourne to South Wales actually happened pretty smoothly (apart from the over charging.) The reason I want to write this review though is to give a shout out to Jimmy and James, the 2 guys who did the removals. They were absolutely brilliant and delightful and were so sunny, funny, superb and fantastic (they even plumbed in the washing machine which was an absolutely HUGE help) but nothing was too much trouble. They just got on with it and worked like absolute troopers. I can't praise Jimmy and James enough. The company is lucky to have guys like that working for them. They're a credit to Express and even though I didn't meet him, the guy who did the packing did it absolutely BRILLIANTLY. Apparently he had to come in on his day off (because of the mix up 😡) but even tiny glass ornaments arrived in one piece. Because of the over charging I can't give a 5 star review but I had to give a shout out to Jimmy, James and 'packing guy!' They were all absolutely superb.

This is the second time I used this company. The first time 5 years ago they damaged a very expensive table. But they had it repaired and their attitude was so helpful I decided to use them again. This time I made it very clear how the table should be handled and had a number of email and phone conversations in which they assured me of the care they would take. The table went into storage with other items for 6 months and has now been delivered back to me. This time not only does it have almost identical scratch damage but it also has a crack where it’s clearly been bashed by something. At no time did the company say I would need additional insurance and stupidly I didn’t notice this on their forms. My mistake, but it isn’t clear that the standard insurance cover they claim to offer is so low it’s pointless. On calling to inform them of the damage there wasn’t even an attempt at an apology. Despite the knowledge of our conversations. I’ve been met with indifference and the offer of £40 which is the maximum they pay if you don’t take out extra insurance. I’ve asked for the name of the company that repaired my table previously. But they can’t even be bothered to provide this for me. First they said they’d emailed them. And then said they couldn’t remember who it was that repaired it. I’m so disappointed by their lack of care. I would never use them again.

We’ve had a great experience with Express Removals from quote stage right up to the removal itself. We paid for the packing service which was done the day before by Kevin. He was friendly, polite and professional and got the job done without any faff. Andy and Mick came to do our move the next day and they were also brilliant! Can’t thank you all enough. Thank you for making our house move that bit less stressful 😊
