Love what is offered. Team was very helpful in terms of securing the car.
Bit clunky having to work via email with no app.
Had not appreciated that we had to pay for charging with the Tesla as this is not the case with rentals I have had in the past so that made the price-point a little less attractive.
The car 'host' was super helpful.

Regarding charging costs: each host sets their own rules based on the type of Tesla (or other EV) they own. Some older Teslas were sold with free lifetime Supercharging, and those hosts generously pass that benefit on to renters. Most vehicles, however, no longer come with free Supercharging. For transparency, this is always noted on the listing under the “Charging” section, but we know it can be easy to miss — your feedback is really helpful, and we’ll look at making this clearer.

It was a relief being able to talk directly with the Support when I was a bit confused on my first use of eeVee. They went the extra mile in sorting out some confusion with the price change online. I was pleased to have Insurance through EV to waiver any liability.

Great Experiences, and if not, Support available
I've used the platform multiple times now and have had a generally excellent experience with the process, hosts and the cars provided.
I had an issue with a host (UR Drive), where I had made 2 separate bookings in South Yarra. The first was cancelled by the host the day of the booking as they advised they did not actully have a car in South Yarra but if I needed the car, I could come collect the car from Tullamarine, 40km away. The second booking was also advertised in South Yarra. They didn't actually communicate that they didn't have a car available for this booking, but having a suspicion, I asked them if there was actually a car there, and they responded 5 hours later saying that I could come collect a car from Tullamarine instead... again.
I sent a complaint to evee, and after much back and forth and a thorough investigation, I'm happy to report that evee has listened to mine and others issues with this provider and taken appropriate steps to ensure that it's not allowed to continue repeatedly on the platform.
I'm happy to recommend the platform, and their actions show demonstratably that they do take action to ensure that there is access only to good, quality hosts on the platform.

To close the loop transparently: we have now suspended UR Drive following additional reports and a full review of their account activity. While your report alone didn’t meet the threshold for immediate suspension, it was a key part of identifying a broader pattern that ultimately led to this decision.
We’ve also set strict requirements that must be met before any consideration of reinstatement — including verified, accurate locations, removal of misleading “airport” delivery options, commitment to stronger communication procedures, an assignment of a dedicated vehicle manager for the evee platform.
Thank you again for engaging so constructively and helping us improve. We’re pleased that you’ve had great experiences overall, and we’ll continue to strengthen the platform to ensure consistent, high-quality service across all listings.

Service needs to improve
The car was excellent, however, the process in picking up and dropping off is not as advertised. You can pay extra for delivery to the airport which in fact is you being sent an Uber to take you to the car. The address given is not on the map and contacting the provider is hit and miss. There is no one at the pick up point, it is not well lit. I could go on with more. Returning is similarly an issue and with the Uber being incorrectly booked by the rental company, you are left with dealing with the issue all while trying to be on time for the flight. Damien from the rental company was doing his best, however unfortunately the service overall is not one I would use again

To clarify, all evee hosts are required to physically deliver the vehicle to you at the specified location and meet you at the car. Sending an Uber instead is not how delivery is advertised or intended to work on our platform. This is the first time we’ve come across this behaviour, and we’ve already contacted the commercial host (UR Drive) to ensure they either remove the delivery option or meet customers properly at the airport going forward.

Feedback on apps user experience
1. The drivers licence upload was a real hassle and kept failing. Had to have several goes before I could register
2. The owner of the vehicle was not using the app to accept the renewal of the vehicle this meant the vehicle couldn't be renewed. Despite contacting the owner to look into the app and accept the renewal as the dates were available
3. Would have liked more charging location options on the app

1. ID verification: we use Stripe, a global leader in fraud prevention, to make sure all identities are securely verified. Unlike a traditional rental desk, our hosts rely on this digital step for safety. We know it can sometimes be inconvenient or give false negatives, but it’s essential to keep the community safe. We hope for your understanding 🙏
2. Renewals: great feedback. We already had SMS alerts for new bookings and messages, and we’ve now added SMS notifications for extension requests too - thanks for helping us improve!
3. Charging locations: excellent suggestion. We’re exploring integrations with PlugShare or Google Maps, and this is definitely on the roadmap. In the meantime, if you’d like help planning your trip around charging, our team is happy to assist before you hit the road 🙂

We’re glad you found the website easy to use, and we hear you on the native app request - it’s been highly requested, and as a very small (but proud) Australian team, our development has been limited by resources. That said, we’d love to bring it to life at some point and further improve the capabilities!
In the meantime, you can set up in-browser message notifications as well as SMS notifications here: www.evee.com.au/account/notifications. Doing this basically creates a mini-app on your phone!
You can also click "Remember me" when logging in to ensure your profile session stays active in your browser across multiple visits. Hope this helps and we'll look forward to hearing from you again soon 🙂
