Etsy has been flooded by scammers recently, and whilst I have bought some lovely things there, I have to be very, VERY careful. I recently bought a chair, which had been reduced in price, and was supposedly being shipped from the US. The shop had only been open a few months, but claimed to have had lots of sales in that time. Having paid for it, I took a much closer look at the reviews etc, and decided that most likely, it would turn out to be a scam which it turned out to be - In fairness to Etsy, they emailed me before I could email them, and a refund was issued immediately. I don't want to put too much info on here about how I was able to tell it was a scam, because I believe the scammers themselves probably read these reviews and adjust their methods accordingly. For eg, my shop had one negative review, which only served to make it look more authentic. Do a deep dive into the seller, and what they are selling. I think they will often sell a few small items to get genuine reviews, before branching out into the scam, which in my case, was the higher value furniture. I've just had another look at etsy, and I can now, with what I know, see 100s of similar scams in operation. Be careful.

Unieke verjaardagskaart besteld à€5,00. Daar bovenop kwamen kosten voor verzending; weer € 5,00. Niet bekend dat hij uit de UK moest komen.
Na wé- ken wachten kreeg ik een brief van Post NL dat ik inklaringskosten moest betalen ; € 12,50. Niet betalen: geen kaart en waarschijnlijk je geld niet terug, dus toch maar betalen. Mooie kaart voor ruim €20,00( ik ga voortaan naar de Primera!), maar wel met een bittere nasmaak. Nooit meer Etsy!!!

Dreadful. The last 4 items I have tried to order have either not turned up or arrived weeks later than purchased. Wont use this site again, complete waste of time.

yes we will take £25 off your sale in fees but when you have an issue we will use an AI robot which totally fails to address your issue. Useless company

I recently bought an A4 print from Cherry Cow on the Etsy website. It was very reasonably priced and arrived on the agreed date as per my purchase confirmation. I am very happy with the quality of the print and would not hesitate in purchasing from both Cherry Cow and Etsy in the future.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience on Etsy and would strongly advise others to proceed with caution.

I placed an order with an expected dispatch date clearly stated. That date passed with no update, no notification, and no item dispatched. I contacted the seller directly to request a simple update, which I believe is a reasonable expectation as a customer. Unfortunately, I received no response at all. Complete silence.

What made this situation significantly worse was Etsy’s handling of the issue. When I attempted to seek support, I discovered that you are effectively blocked from taking meaningful action for an extended period of time. You are forced to wait before you can even open a case, leaving you in a position where your money is taken and you have no immediate recourse. This delay is unacceptable for a platform operating at this scale.

There appears to be very little accountability for sellers who fail to meet basic service standards, and the lack of timely support from Etsy only reinforces this. As a customer, you are left feeling ignored and unprotected.

Overall, this has been one of the worst online purchasing experiences I have had. I will not be using Etsy again. If you are considering making a purchase, be aware that if something goes wrong, support is slow and limited, and you may be left waiting with no clear resolution.

The only explanation for such a shocking site is it must be run by scamers! I have been a seller for over 2 years and had a lot of grief with my listing's. All hand made by me and they continued to take listing's down saying they aren't mine when they are and I put a lot of effort into them.
Customer service is shocking, they dont support sellers at all! The fees are horrific I land up paying half of my earnings to them. Unless you generate AI patterns or steal other people's listing's there's no point being a seller here its a waste of time and money! Absolutely awful!

Opened account, sold an item, was told I will need to wait 2 weeks to get paid... I'm now on my 3rd week and no money. Support is not answering. I was told I will get transferred to another advisor that will be able to help, waited 2 hours, chat disconnected. Closing my account after I get my money. STAY AWAY

Shocking service, faulty and late goods that the seller led me along for weeks and then Etsy did the same until the 100 day limit was reached and now no answer. Klarna final payment was stopped but also no answer from them in relation to their protection or refund.

Wollte bei Etsy einen Herren- Lederrucksack bestellen. Angeblich wird mit einem Inder zusammengearbeitet.Alles soll handgefertigt sein.Entsprechende Bilder suggerieren das. Habe aber den gleichen Rucksack bei Temu gefunden. Natürlich halb so teuer. Die Dame, die das verkauft könnte ich nicht kontaktieren . Echter Betrug.

Purchased an item on Etsy for the first (and last) time. Item was never sent. Seller had no care and Etsy refunded it without taking the money from the seller!?

Left a 1 star review for seller which never went on their profile so they are free to scam more people.

Etsy need to check a company called Diamonte Designs based in Doncaster. The owner has been extremely rude and unprofessional and has been harassing me with text messages and on messenger. Avoid them at all costs.

Ho ordinato una cassapanca tre mesi fa e non è ancora arrivata. Mi hanno detto che mi rimborsano con un buono. per usufruire bisogna un codice che non mi è mai arrivato quindi impossibile usarlo. Soldi persi. Grande fregatura.

The first time using Etsy I ordered a chair £89.00. Parcel Post did not deliver saying address was incorrect and they posted it straight back to Etsy. I eventually managed to contact Etsy customer service for refund. Still waiting. This was over 3 weeks ago. Can't contact customer service, it's impossible., nor have they contacted me. Parcel Force and Etsy .both a disgrace.

J'ai toujours trouvé les articles que je voulais avec des prix raisonnables en plus en promotion de 25 % ! Parfois frais de douane surprise qui n'était pas prévu à l'achat! Donc obligé de payer la taxe au passage de la douane pour pouvoir être livrer
Livraison très longue avec le transporteur UPS et sans suivi sérieux du colis. Je me demande toujours si le colis est perdu. Jusqu'à maintenant j'ai acheté trois articles de très bonne qualité sur Etsy et j'en suis très satisfait....à part la livraison qui est très longue et les taxes douanières surprises! Je me fie toujours aux avis positifs avant et me renseigne sur le site marchant avant d'acheter.

Muchísimo cuidado con estos. Primero, te cobran IVA aunque sea intracomunitaria la venta. Eso no sé si es legal, pero lo hacen. Segundo, el link de descarga no te llega cuando compras. Si eso, puede que te llegue algún día pero ponte a deshojar la margarita. En los tiempos instantáneos que corren (lo que cumplen cuando cobran pero no cuando entregan), esto no es serio.

I ordered a Christmas preasant from Twice As Nice Digitals on 25/11/2025 via Etsy.
I have still not recieved it as of 18/03/2026 despite messaging Michael, the owner.
His web site is now unavailable.
Looks like yet another scam.
Dont use either company if you want to keep your money.

Non ho ricevuto la merce ordinata 3 mesi fa, ho chiesto il rimborso ma sembra difficile averlo, ho pagato con carta ma fin ad oggi dopo tante richieste non ho ricevuto niente sono molto delusa non mi affiderò più a questa piattaforma

Fake website they take my payment but unfortunately they not any update my order 😭😭😭
