The whole process went fine . And the send you all these good ideas to explore the city of abu dhabi if you have more then 12 hours layover.. so i did (had 14 hours) ,, i went back to the airport, beacuse i wanted some food and a nice place to rest before the next flight, have been traveling for 12 hours allredy and have a 10 hour planeride ahead...
But that was not possible.. because you are not allowed to stay inside the airport for more then six hours .. i know its an airport rule, but ethiad fails to inform you about this .. if i did stay inside the airport, i could have stayed the hole 14 hours, but because i went outside, i can only get back in 6 hours prior to my flight, wich in this case is 2 am , so now im sitting in the entrance of the terminal on the floor. As the lady said "its only 3 hours" clearly she havent been travelling the most of the day... 😡 would have been nice with this information berfore going outside for 3 hours to kill time ... but now you guys know .

Father with cancer, despicable treatment by Ethiad
In October 2022 my wife and I travelled back to the UK via Ethiad Airlines to visit my family as my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer and was due to have an operation. On the 22nd of October after my father was recovering, 2 weeks before we were due to leave I called the airline to ask about the possibility of moving our flights out 6 days to stay longer to help my mother and support my father. I tried to give as much notice as possible and knew there would be $300 schedule change charge per person but was ready to pay this. The agent in the Indian call centre told me that it would be “$1773 for both” to make this change to the exact same flight 6 days later. I said that this was ridiculous as this was more than the price we paid for a single return ticket from Melbourne! After discussion of options, I reluctantly decided to pay this amount to stay with our family. The agent took my credit card details, did not confirm the total (but I knew the amount we discussed) and I finished the call assuming all had been arranged. I received multiple emails and I thought that’s double what I was expecting. My wife and I were going away for a few days to rest ourselves and it was at this point I noticed that $1773 had been taken from my credit card twice!! I called the airline as soon as I could and they said it was the price per passenger perhaps? I said that I was 100% not told this and that this had been taken twice which was especially shady as my wife and I are on the same itinerary. When I paid for the tickets originally it was done in one transaction, which I might add was less than this cost! I now regret not calling my credit card company and blocking this theft but I was in transit and assumed that this was clearly a mistake and that they would see this and refund one of the payments. They launched an investigation and said after listening “many times” to our phone conversation that the agent mumbled something and was not clear in anyway but they believe she said “as per the adult” towards the end of the conversation. I said that I had not heard that at all and I had only 1 chance to listen! I asked why if the agent believed she made a mistake didn’t she admit it and be clear about it, advising me of the new total of approx $3500 dollars, which I would have never agreed to. They said they believed she said something which was an attempt (although in no way clear or transparent) so they refused to refund the incorrect payment. The supervisor told me she was sorry and felt for my situation but could not help me, she said to go and write an email to the “Feedback team" and that they would be able to find me a resolution after 28days!!! This was in November 2022, it is now August 2023, I have called multiple times and have been stuck in a very deliberate closed feedback loop. Last time I called I was told that the case was closed with no resolution and without contacting me!! I have been told that the case will be reopened and that the Feedback team will be in contact in another 28 days but, what year will this happen? Ethiad clearly do not care about retaining their customers as I have had money stolen, I have been provided no recording of my phone conversation with their agent. I have been repeatedly lied to by this company and shown little to respect especially under my circumstances with my sick parent. There is clearly no honour or integrity in this company or their customer service process where they are deliberately waiting me out hoping that I will go away. I now have to spend even more time and stress reporting Ethiad to the industry Ombudsman in the middle east. As they have been unwilling to speak to me, maybe they will speak to them.

Pessimo comportamento della compagnia
Avevo un volo da Bangkok verso Roma con scalo ad AbuDhabi, ci hanno prelevato allo scalo e portati in uno spazio dove ci hanno lasciato attendere senza alcuna spiegazione (con un bambino di 3 anni). Ci hanno sequestrato le carte d’imbarco e detto che la nostra unica soluzione era quella di accedere ad un altro volo con scalo a TelAviv. Si è trattato di overbooking dato che il volo originale è partito senza problemi. Gli operatori di terra della compagnia ci hanno inveito contro senza alcun rispetto verso il nostro disagio e con un’aggressività inspiegabile! Ci hanno resi loro ostaggi senza diritto di replica. Ci siamo dovuti adeguare senza avere alcuna alternativa e ripeto senza alcuna spiegazione. Inoltre hanno perso tutti i nostri bagagli. Pensateci bene prima di volare con Ethiad, state attenti! Meglio evitare!

Flug Genève-Bangkok-Chiang Mai (Thailand) hin und zurück bei Etihad gebucht. Flugcrew ok, aber mein Koffer wurde beschädigt (kann auch vorkommen) und leider habe ich die zwei Risse in der Unterseite erst zuhause festgestellt. Trotz Fotos und Erklärungen hat sich Etihad geweigert, mir den Koffer zu ersetzen. Auch hatte ich eine Handtasche mit dutyfree Käufe am Gate vergessen. Auch nie zurückerhalten. Economy Flieger sind ja nicht vertrauenswürdig….Angelegenheit wurde überheblich und blöd formalistisch pingelig behandelt. Meine Reiseagentur hat bei Salesmanager in Genf vergeblich interveniert.

If I could give ZERO stars I would! I needed to cancel flights due to death of parent. Submitted all the proofs requested. Had confirmation that all necessary documents were received. That was OCTOBER 2022. It is now JUNE 2023. Still no refund. HOURS spent on the phone. Always assured "your case has been escalated. We are so sorry. I promise it will be sorted out". Raised a complaint via the correct channel. NEVER got response! Ask to speak to supervisor/manager. NEVER available! I hope no-one, who has lost a loved one and couldn't take a trip, ever has the kind of experience I have had with Etihad. As of now, still no refund! "Being dealt with internally. This will take time" is the latest response! DO NOT TRUST THIS AIRLINE WITH YOUR MONEY

I made a modification concerning a return flight via Etihad for two people: Bangkok-Paris on March 2nd. Change of date for the 9th of March. I pay the fees (50 euros per person) The operator of bourse-des-vols.com tells me that everything is ok but I don't receive any confirmation. I am told that everything is normal. Yesterday I receive a message telling me to get ready for my flight on March 2nd! I call Bourse des vols, they tell me ah... There is a bug... "Well, we have a seat for March 10th". I ask what to do about the expenses (hotels etc.) and problems caused (missed business meeting) by this departure 24 hours later (by their negligence). I ask at least a refund of expenses, compensation and or an upgrade. I am told that nothing can be done and that it is Etihad policy. !!!! No compensation!!! Unbelievable. They do not do their job and have no consideration for their customers.

Bonjour, suite à annulation d'un vol dû au covid, Ethiad refuse de rembourser Opodo et donc de me rembourser. Ethiad s'est mis directement en rapport avec moi par mail pour me signifier l'annulation du vol. Je trouve cette situation inadmissible

I was in Rome Fiumicino airport 3 times the Ethiad Manager Gabriella,Marta they dont give me the boarding pass to Manila,it was togheter with another manager man,i saw all Passenger getting on board excepted me. I pay the ticket flight 1.400 euro i get back only 90 euro cursed staff cursed company never flight with ETHIAD
Day robbery 12+ as adult
This is the only flight charge 12+ as adult . what a day robbery . Stay away from this flight . All others have 16+as adult . A family with 3 5 year old will be classified as 7 adults . Shame on you Etihad.
Ethiad , pessima esperienza Servizio clienti inesistente
Il 17 Agosto 2022 dovevo prendere il volo di ritorno da Milano Malpensa EY 88 con cambio a Abu Dhabi con volo EY 878 per Tokyo Narita , con me mia moglie e figlia di 11 anni .
Al check in mi è stato rifiutato l’imbarco perché al dire delle responsabile del banco check in Business ethiad il mio passaporto non era in buoni condizioni ( lo stesso documento con cui ho fatto il viaggio inverso il 2 agosto 2022 dove ho ricevuto il timbro da Tokyo Narita dopo controllo a Abu Dhabi e ancora controllo a Malpensa ) .
Ho fatto presente questo ma la signora mi ha detto che non potevo partire . Sono andato a chiedere assistenza alla Polizia di stato di Malpensa ufficio del 3 piano .
L’agente di polizia mi ha confermato che il mio documento ( passaporto) non era in cattive condizioni e che non c’erano realmente problemi di identificazione , anche ha fatto una verifica del documento ( data 17/8/2022 alle ore 8:00 AM circa ) che è registrata dalla polizia di Malpensa .
Mi ha accompagnato al banco Chek-in , ha informato la signora che stava rifiutando il mio imbarco che il documento non aveva problemi.
Ma lei non voleva sentire ragioni e ha impedito il mio viaggio , anche l’agente di PS mi ha detto : dovrebbe fare causa !!
Di fatto solo mia moglie che poi era in lacrime per quello che stava accadendo è partita con mia figlia per tornare a Tokyo . Capirete il mio stress emotivo ed psicofisico veder partire la mia famiglia e non poter fare il viaggio di ritorno insieme.
Infine ho contattato la questura per rifare il documento ma come risiedo in Giappone da anni ho dovuto contattare anche l’ambasciata Italiana a Tokyo per avere il nulla osta per rifare il passaporto. In più , come c’è una minorenne mia moglie appena arrivata a Tokyo ha dovuto recarsi all’ambasciata italiana per dare il consenso per il rifacimento del documento.
Tutti straordinari mi hanno aiutato in maniera veloce e sono stati molto gentili e disponibili. Al dire della questura il mio passaporto non era invalido e non utilizzabile torno a dire la donna del check in si è accanita con me senza realmente averne il motivo.
Per questo ritengo solo Ethiad e chi si occupa del check in di Malpensa responsabile dell’accaduto e del danno Morale , fisico e psicologico.
Oltre la spesa che ho dovuto sostenere per rifare il passaporto , il test PCR per un nuovo viaggio e poi la nuova riservazione che mi è costata 1610 euro oltre il prezzo del mio volo iniziale perché a dire di Ethiad se volevo mantenere lo stesso Fare avrei dovuto attendere il mese di settembre . ( Invece sono ripartito per Tokyo il 21 Agosto )
In più il ritardo mi è costato a causa di tutti gli impegni di lavoro che ho dovuto annullare .
La cosa che mi ha più deluso da parte di Etihad è che nessuna persona della compagnia e venuta ad assistermi come prevede la legge europea , in caso di negato imbarco , ( scandaloso ) non hanno risolto il mio problema , soprattutto non mi hanno contattato dopo l’accaduto .
Voglio chiedere un indennizzo per risarcire la mia brutta esperienza e per le spese che ho dovuto sostenere .
Per questo ho seguito tutto quello che viene menzionato sul sito di Ethiad
ho redatto un feedback ( perché un servizio clienti diretto non lo hanno , questo a mio avviso molto strano ) . Ho ricevuto solo una risposta automatica dove loro dicono che mi risponderanno entro 28 giorni.
A parte questo niente altro , credo quasi che sia un modo per raggirare i loro clienti .
Può essere solo la mia esperienza personale ma sconsiglio questa compagnia .Ethiad per come si descrive deve avere un servizio clienti adeguato.

Provided a very detailed feedback on 2 occasions, never got an acknowledgement or reply. Appears company is not committed to improvement. Standards are poor.
At one occasion I was denied boarding due to lack of communication from Ethiad - They acknowledged the issue but offered no apology or a solution. Company philosophy is "It is what it is, take it or find another airline"
Terrible customer service
My flight was cancelled due to covid regulations and I called their customer care to change or refund. I was advised fastest refund option is to refund to etihad travel bank and will be done instantly on call. Hence I opted for the same. When taking the request the call center agent informed that they cant proceed due to system issue and shall forward it to back end team to process the refund and it wold take a maximum of 45 days. I had place the request in May 21 and I am writing this review in Sep 21. The request was not processed even after 45 days and I called their customer service multiple times for followup and every time they inform "We have sent reminder to concerned team", however I did not received any further update. Now its more than 3 months and still the refund is not processed. Since its too much delay in processing refund I called their customer care to cancel the refund request and change the date as I had another requirement. But I was informed that it cannot be done as the refund request is in progress. They are not processing the refund request and not allowing to change the booking either. I had to take a new ticket for my travel , how ever I did not made the mistake of booking in Ethihad this time. Now I cant reach their call center even after waiting for 30 minutes in call and I sent multiple mails to their and even to their social media team. However I am not getting any response. Its terrible customer service.

They are showing ZERO flexibilty and ripping off customers left right and center. I fly for work often but moving forward I will avoid it like the plague.
ETIHAD AIRWAYS HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE
I have been calling and emailing for the past 4 months. ETIHAD as a company are the worst airline I've ever tried to talk to. No help no understanding. My original flight was June 2020, they still have not issued a refund as they no longer fly to where I want to go and are keeping my money up until today and say they will continue to do so. My advise fly with anyone else during these times if you need an airline that cares about there customers.
Ticket flexibility is a marketing scam!
I purchased a business class ticket to Sydney for my family and I departing May 3rd. I purchased this on account of the flexibility you offered as regards free change and cancellations which we really needed given the current uncertainty surrounding Covid.
For family reasons I desperately need to shift my departure date out to the right, but I was completely shocked when I discovered that moving my flight to pretty much any date in the next year would require me to pay another £39,0000 which is nearly 5 times the sum of the original ticket.
Whilst I appreciate we’re living in unprecedented times this additional fee doesn’t seem to be in the spirit of your original change terms or particularly fair / ethical and in many ways makes your flexible terms sound like something of a marketing exercise.
