eSIM.me Card doesn't seem to work in Russia, despite promise to do so

On October 16th, I ordered an eSIM.me Card | SINGLE 2 for €42.23. I purchased the following internet credit on the eSIM marketplace: eSIM Local | API50-S | 155789 | RUS | 15 Days Pass | FUP-500 for €37.70.

Unfortunately, this package didn't work: I didn't have internet access a single day during my 14-day trip in Russia. And because I couldn't make calls (meaning I could only make regular calls, which cost a lot of money), I always had to wait until the evening at the hotel before I could email customer service, because I only had internet in the hotel due to the hotel wifi. During the first week, I did receive occasional replies from te customer service, although it sometimes took a while. These replies were likely sent by different employees because they constantly contained different recommendations and I kept having to change new settings.

Finally, on November 1st, I received a reply stating that I hadn't needed to change anything and asking me to reset everything to the original settings. Because of the many changes I'd initially had to make based on their advice, I couldn't immediately recall them. I then replied, stating that I had made several changes to the settings precisely on the advice of customer service. I included screenshots of all the current settings and the eSIMme app. In this email, I also stated that I was very disappointed with this product because it doesn't work and that I apparently haven't received adequate assistance yet, as the product hasn't worked even once. I also asked what the next steps would be: whether I had bought everything for nothing, whether I could save the internet credit for a future trip, or whether I was eligible for a refund. Finally, I indicated that I would be very grateful for any further assistance regarding a possible solution. I sent this email on November 3rd, but I never received a reply. I was in Russia until November 9th, and the eSIM.me internet didn't work for a single day during those 14 days. I therefore warn anyone who thinks this is a good solution for a trip to Russia: it does NOT work there. But what I find most disturbing is that they never replied to my email on November 3rd, even though they stated that this product included support, and they simply left me without internet access.

I find that extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Because even if they did think it was my deductible or my fault, they could at least have responded and indicated that, as far as they're concerned, they've done enough to help me and there's nothing more they can do. That would at least have been fair.

Great product, no issues

Works as expected. Needs to be in SIM slot 1 on my phone to install an eSIM, but works in both slots for usage. No issues. It used to not be recognised if that SIM slot was disabled, needing to be removed and reinserted, but now doesn't do that (perhaps a phone upgrade changed things).

All up, A great product. My only gripe is that some providers don't give you a QR code but expect you to download their app to install their eSIM. With those, 5ber doesn't work. But other than that, it does what it claims.

Highly recommended if your phone doesn't do eSIM.

Faulty sim crashes phone, tried to contact customer service, but turns out one they have your money no service at all, 15+ emails to suport at 5ber.com and no reply at all.

Do not i repeat do not buy from this useless company. You will get ripped off

It's a scam. When their card stops working, they stop communicating! The first response came, nothing happened, and then no response and it's been several months! I do not recommend these Chinese scammers. The competition for the same price has a better card and support! 9esim! STOP 5BER

Die 5ber-SIMcard ist mit der 5ber-App wieder erreichbar. Das Netzwerkproblem ist behoben. Meine Discounter eSIM funktioniert. Neue eSIMS lassen sich wieder einrichten. (Stand: 28.5.2025)

It works but app doesn't allow me to upgrade

I bought the standard plan (2 esim downloads) and worked well in India, Then I tried to purchase extra downloads -as indicated through the 5ber app but it doesn't work, I tried several times and wrote email for technical support with no answer.
So the 5ber esim support is now useless for me.

Worked perfectly on my Samsung Galaxy A52 5G

I used the 5ber esim on my Samsung Galaxy A52 5G phone. It worked brilliantly. I purchased an esim for India, one for the Maldives, and one for Switzerland. In all three cases it worked without any problems. I uploaded the esim packages to the 5ber app using the QR coded, then just turned on the package I needed from the 5ber app and changed my data settings in SIM Manager to use SIM 2 (the 5ber esim).

Perfect if your phone doesn't have edim capability.

5ber SIM card does not work

-The cargo company that intermediated to send the 5ber SIM card brought the SIM card to my door and sent it back to China without asking, thanks to them they sent it to me again.
-After using it only once for a short time, my phone stopped seeing the 5ber SIM card. They told me to format the phone, which I did and that's why my Whatsapp backup was deleted.
-It didn't work, they told me to try it on another phone, I tried it but nothing changed.
-After a while, the 5ber SIM card started blocking the internet in the first slot when it was in the second slot of my phone. I told them, they didn't believe me, I sent them a video, they couldn't say anything.
And even though I tried many times, they still keep saying “try inserting the 5ber SIM card in another phone” and “send me a screenshot”.
Finally, they stopped responding to my emails.
They have a terrible system.

Ich habe meine 5ber SIM Karte vor fast vier Wochen geordert und bis heute nicht erhalten.

Ich habe meine 5ber SIM Karte am 24.01.25 bestellt und per Card bezahlt, bekam etwa zwei Wochen später eine Mail, sie sei verschifft worden und ich könne sie tracken. Das ist mir bis heute nicht gelungen und ich konnte auch keinen Kontakt zum Unternehmen herstellen. Ich frage mich nun, wie lange ich noch warten soll, um irgendwo anders eine Karte zu ordern. Die 12$ bzw. € kann ich wohl auch abschreiben.

Nachtrag zu meiner Bewertung.
Heute habe ich eine Mail vom Anbieter erhalten, indem er mir ankündigt, mir meine Kosten zurückzuerstatten. Die Karten seien momentan nicht lieferbar. Etwas seltsam, dass das vor mittlerweile vier Wochen wohl noch nicht der Fall war und ja sogar ein erfolgter Versand gemailt worden war. Egal, ich hoffe jetzt, dass die meine Kreditkarte wieder vom Kartenpreis entlastet wird und sich diese Angelegenheit somit dann erledigt hat. Ich habe zwischenzeitlich ein alternatives Produkt geordert und warte ab, ob das nun besser läuft.

XIAOMI MI 11- nicht E-SIM fähig mit 5ber

NACHTRAG: Mittlerweile ist es mir gelungen Freephone auf meinem XIAOMI Mi11 einzurichten, ändert aber nichts daran, dass der Support bei 5ber anscheinend nicht wirklich vorhanden ist. Da aber ansonsten alles funktioniert, gibt es jetzt zumindest 4 Sterne.

Ich habe ein XIAOMI MI 11, eigentlich sollte die Karte damit funktionieren, tut sie aber nicht. Müsste ich nicht eine eSIM-Identifikationsnummer (EID) angezeigt bekommen? Ich hätte gerne Freephone von GMX genutzt, geht aber nicht. Den Support hatte ich bereits zweimal angeschrieben, von dort kommt aber keinerlei Reaktion.
Fazit: unbrauchbar, so wie es aussieht 11 Euro in den Sand gesetzt.

Terrible Customer Service & No Accountability – Avoid 5ber at All Costs!

I ordered a SIM card from 5ber over two months ago, and it never arrived. I have repeatedly tried to get help from their customer service, but they have ignored my concerns and refused to take responsibility. Instead, they have provided generic, copy-paste responses that offer no real solution.

When I pointed out that the tracking stopped updating, they ignored my concerns for weeks. Eventually, when they admitted they couldn’t track the package, they made it my problem—giving me a random phone number to a government agency and telling me to track it myself! This is unacceptable.

📌 Key Issues with 5ber:
❌ Failed to Deliver – The package has been lost, and they are unwilling to take responsibility.
❌ Ignored My Requests for a Refund – Despite multiple requests, they refuse to process a refund for an item I never received.
❌ Terrible Customer Support – Representatives Bonnie, Ada, and Cathy all gave templated responses with no real effort to assist.
❌ Misleading Shipping Promises – They claim 3-15 business days, yet after two months, my package is still missing.
❌ Zero Urgency or Care for Customers – I explained that I need the SIM card urgently for international travel, but they do not care and refuse to help.

💡 Final Verdict:
If you’re thinking of ordering from 5ber, DON’T DO IT. They are unreliable, refuse to take responsibility for lost shipments, and completely ignore refund requests. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with! 🚨

Ottimo Servizio

Ho uno smartphone xiaomi mi 10 5g lite di 5 anni ancora con ottime prestazioni ma senza supporto alle esim. Ho acquistato 5ber, versione Ultra, l'ho inserita nel mio telefono sullo slot 1 ed acquistato un profilo di prova solo dati e tutto funziona regolarmente. Poi ho acquistato una esim di un fornitore italiano perchè necessitavo di un secondo numero di telefono, quindi parliamo di una esim completa di dati, voce, sms etc. Bene anche questa è stata riconosciuta senza alcun problema, ho solo dovuto impostare manualmente i dati corretti dell' APN per navigare su internet da cellulare e hotspot. Ho fatto anche dei test disabilitando l'esim e passandola su altro telefono e tutto ha funzionato correttamente. Ho pagato la sim 25 euro contro i quasi 80 euro che richiede un'altro competitor acquistandola direttamente sul sito del produttore e in 20 giorni mi è arrivata. Nel mio caso funziona bene e la ricomprerei di sicuro.

Sim card glitches phones

Terrible experience! For start, I inserted it in my S24 Ultra and for the whole time the 5ber SIM card was in the phone, it was showing that the phone needs to update the eSIM cards. After I activated an eSIM from Global Yo on the 5ber adapter, it connected, but all the time it shows it's connected, but without internet connection :/
I tried other providers, it didn't seem to work. I switched the 5ber card to my Redmi Note 10 Pro where the problems got solved, but new ones appeared. The sim card internet was working, but.. while the card is inserted, it turns off every 30-45 seconds and even blocks out the phone from scanning and connecting with wifi. I'm not sure why. The support said they will review it soon, but for now I don't think this eSIM card "adapter" is something you should rely on especially if you don't have any other connection options while abroad.
