Mistake resulting in deportation
In February of 2024 I started a new position at a new company and EmiGreat was used to handle the residence permit application and process. On June 3 2024 I received a note from Migrationsverket stating that my work permit application is rejected and I am to be deported. Reading through the reasoning given by Migrationsverket it was revealed that EmiGreat had made a mistake in the application, and when contacted about this they did something that made it seem as if they were covering up the truth, all unbeknownst to me. The mistake was that the initial work contract submitted to Migrationsverket was signed before the job was posted in Arbetsförmedlingen for 10 days. When this was brought to EmiGreat's attention, they responded with "incorrect documentation has been uploaded" and uploaded a contract signed a few days later. I was told I need to sign a new contract because my employer's address had to be visible on the contract. Migrationsverket does not believe due process was followed and gave EmiGreat an opportunity to provide further clarification on this matter but they declined to respond.
I had to leave Sweden and apply for a new work permit from scratch, leaving my wife and life here in Sweden behind. EmiGreat has not yet offered any help, relief, or compensation for this issue. They did however send me a settlement agreement that promised to pay my employer back their fees if I signed a non-disparagement agreement. I have repeatedly been in contact with Emigreat concerning compensation for expenses incurred during my deportation. However, communication has repeatedly been stalled. It does not appear as if EmiGreat has any intention of taking responsibility for the mistake they made.
I cannot, in good conscience, recommend EmiGreat. They have failed in their basic operation and understanding of the Swedish emigration laws and systems, caused imense distress for me and my wife, caused large financial loss for me personally, and they have faced no consequences nor provided any help.
