Never use this company!!
Basically gave false information from the start. The sales representative advised on the system he recommended which seemed fine, I paid £500 deposit and then had a different set up offered which made sense.
Paid my 50% of cost to secure the deal that’s when it all fell apart. Suddenly need a test on the electrical supply to ensure I can sell excess generation to the grid. Which after a missed appointment and the the fitters arriving to install not being able to do, I ended up doing myself for them. Then I’m told that I can only sell a very small amount to the grid, at which point I was reconsidering if it’s actually viable to have the system. I was told I have to continue as I am now under contract.
Can’t understand why it wasn’t tested before the system was designed.
After waiting around 2 months from the 50% deposit they have finally installed it and within 5 minutes of the installers finishing I’m being chased for the final payment ( shame they weren’t so quick with contact when there was problems.).
As it was dark I could not see the installation or check if it was generating I told them I’d check it before paying.
I then had 2 emails 4 texts and 3 phone calls in 48hrs. Chasing the payment.i was also told by the salesman that a smoke detector would be installed I. The garage where all the equipment is fitted , when I query why it’s not been done I’m told they don’t fit them unless it’s in a loft space.
Worst customer care and communication I have ever received.

We had our panels installed today and it was a smooth experience from the beginning to the end of the installation as the installers were of massive help answering all questions, patient, respectful and kind. A big thank you to Helen Carey, Amelia and Georgia for a job well done. Effective Home is the best to go to for your solar panel purchase and installation. They have got a great and lovely staff. From the beginning of the process till the very end it was a reassuring email and follow up emails. Even when I message or call Helen out of work hours, she is always ready to answer any questions I have. Thank you Effective Home.

Called up today as i was worried i hadn't received my paperwork however Rebecca reassured me that we was only waiting on the paperwork to be checked and within 10 minutes Kira sent my paperwork along with the approval. Now i can set up my SEG and enjoy the savings. Thank you both so so much.

This company had been great from start to finish. Caller Rebecca for my paper work as was still waiting for my DNO from the grid, chased up and got it to me by the end of the day!!!

Just want to say thank you to Amelia, Georgia and Barbara for all your help and making my experience with effective home really easier and efficient.

We decided we'd like to have a solar installation in our house. We looked around at various suppliers, got a few quotes and decided to go with Effective Home. Much of that decision was based on reviews on here.

Well, our decision turned out to be the right one.

From initial contact all the way through to the install and afterwards the experience has been second to none. The whole process has been professional, extremely well planned and organised and has been carried out by really friendly people.

We initially spoke to Niall who explained everything to us and went out of his way to help us understand everything. I was about to have a surgery and explained this to Niall who even made sure not to contact me immediately after this. He actually called me just before to wish me well.

We then had a survey done via a video call. This was with Sahil who was very professional and courteous and made the process very simple.

In the interim between that and the install we spoke to a couple of people on the phone and by email. I think the main contact was with Rebecca regarding some administrative issues. Again, all very friendly and professional.

We also had to speak with Niall's manager and unfortunately his name escapes me but he too was friendly and professional.

We got an install date through much more quickly than we anticipated which was great news.

Scaffolding needed to be erected first and the scaffolding company, PVF Scaffolding messaged to say exactly when they would be attending. They arrived as promised and the job was done quickly and professionally with minimal intrusion.

The day before the solar install we received a message to confirm.

On the day, the install was carried out by Craig and Mark. The guys arrived nice and early and were really friendly and explained everything that would be happening. They carried out the work to a very high standard and let us know exactly what they were doing as they went along. They had to make a couple of minor changes to the planned install but explained these thoroughly. They were both happy to chat about the install and to answer any questions I had. Lovely guys who obviously take pride in their work and want the customer to be happy and informed.

The install was completed on the day despite it raining much of the time. I wouldn't have complained if they'd said they were too wet and cold to carry on and would come back the next day. But they didn't... they carried on and completed the job.

Very impressed and extremely grateful for all the effort they both put in.

Once complete, I was shown how to use the app and how to control the system.

There was quite a bit of leftover materials, boxes etc and I was told this would be collected over the coming days.

Sure enough, a couple of days later I had a message to say that a company called 'Any Junk' was on the way to remove the items. They arrived as promised and quickly removed the items.

The scaffolding is still here but I'm sure that will be removed without issue in the next few days.

So, what more can I say.

From start to finish the whole process was meticulously planned, we were informed at every step and everything went exactly to plan.

The system is now up and running and giving us a little bit free energy but this will improve come spring and summer.

So thank you to everyone who made this experience very simple and easy. We really do appreciate it a LOT. I think it's one of the best experiences I've ever had with a company and I do have extremely high standards myself. These were met and exceeded.

If you're reading this and thinking of going for a solar install, you can't go far wrong with Effective Home.

Give them a chance and I'm sure you'll be happy.

The best thing about the company was the initial contact with the salesman, Mark and Alysha, the customer service agent that, unfortunately has now left. We had the panels installed on 23rd October and the next day the battery stopped working and it’s taken 6 weeks to get a new battery. On the plus side the scaffolding company, panel installers, electrician, rubbish collection were all excellent. Even the Fox battery man came out to try and get it working (he did for half an hour!) I totally understand that technology goes wrong sometimes but it’s how efficiently it’s handled! We now have a brand new battery🤞🏼
A reply to “effective home” it didn’t take 6 weeks to order a new battery. One of your electricians couldn’t fix it so we had to wait (a month after install) for a Fox battery electrician to visit to authorise a replacement which took another 2 weeks.

We’ve had a few issues with our solar panels recently - none of which were the fault of Effective Home - but the support we received was outstanding.

When I first spoke to Amelia, she was incredibly helpful and patient, and working together with Georgia, arranged for Steve to call me back straight away. He solved the initial issue quickly and easily.

Not long after, we discovered another problem when an electrician/plumber had turned the panels off and forgotten to switch them back on. Once I corrected that, the battery still wasn’t charging properly. I reached out to Amelia again and she immediately sent two engineers out to investigate. They fixed the problem on the spot and even called an hour later to double-check everything was working as it should.

Amelia also followed up with both a call and an email to make sure everything was running smoothly.
Great, thorough customer service from start to finish - we really felt looked after.

Kevin and Andy Nicholls were fantastic yesterday fitting our new boiler. Really polite, professional and they kept the disruption to the minimum. They didn't leave any mess in our home either.
Both of these fitters were the best we've had. Thank you so much, we're now sat in a lovely warm home.

What a refreshing change to find a company that were professional from start to finish, from Helen our planner through the installer Craig, the scaffolders and Mickiela who deals with post installation plus on top of all that a great price to
