ECH fitted solar panels to the house in January 2026. There was an initial wiring issue on installation that was subsequently corrected. We now have fully working solar panels and we are happy with the results of the hardware.

However, we also had another problem that was not so easily resolved. That relates to the connectivity of the Solis Cloud app. The app allows us to monitor the efficiency of the panels, and whether the energy is used in the home, stored in the battery or returned to the grid. Unfortunately the app was frequently showing the system was 'off-line'. On at least one occasion it was continually off-line for a period of more than 24 hours.

Initially ECH were very helpful in assisting us to try to overcome this problem. We tried many technical fixes, with help from ECH, to the home wi-fi. But then we did start to notice that the response time from ECH became delayed. The problem remained unresolved.

On 26th February ECH stated in an email that they would persevere to correct the connectivity issue.

On 2nd March I sent a video to ECH, as discussed with them, in a bid to progress fault finding. I received an acknowledgment email from ECH for this. That was the last time I heard anything from the company.

I sent emails to ECH on 12th, 18th and 27th March to see if they had any update for me. On no occasion did I receive a response back from them.

The good news is that the connectivity issue is now resolved. The app works fine. However, I am totally unclear as to how it has been corrected. It's a great shame, as it would otherwise be a good experience.

I started my solar journey in January 2026 and then had the system fitted on the 11/03/2026. From paying the deposit to the install was 6 days so very impressed as to how quick this system has bee fitted and the amount it has saved me so far.
I had an 18-panel solar system installed by ECH Group Ltd on the 11/03/2026.
The electrician turned up at 08:00 and spoke to us about what he was going to do and that the roofers would be along later to install the solar panels. He then proceeds to install the 8KW Solis Hybrid Invertor and all the electrical connections need for the meter and the battery.
When the Dyness Powerbox G2 10.24KW battery arrived, I was spoken to about the place that it was going to be fitted just below the invertor.
At 10:30 the roofers arrived and spoke to us about what they were going to do and how long it would roughly take them. They then proceed to start putting the rails that the solar panels are fitted to on the roof. The panels were then fitted, and all connections and bird proofing was done at the same time. The electrician left at 12:45 as he had finished his part of the install and the roofers continued to finish off the solar panel install. The panels that have been fitted to my roof are Eurener Nexa Topcon N-Type and rated at 515 W double glass bifacial.
The system went live at about 16:00 on the 11/03/2026 and you could see the system working and the grid not importing any energy to my house until 18:30 when I forced charged the battery to see how it worked.
All in all, very impressed with ECH Group Ltd and all there staff the install team cleaned everything away and left the area as they found it.

Guys turned up ontime as promised and carried out the work quickly, cleanly and most important safely

Can I give zero stars?

So a quick summary, I have an install that ECH did a couple of years ago and it stopped working a month ago, I asumed it was a failed Inverter, so I contacted ECH to assist. They wanted £300 plus VAT to come and look at the issue. I can understand that they dont want endless call outs that they pay for when its user error, but £300!
They suggested it was a DC input failure, but still would not help, so I had to get a chap to go on the roof to look at the wiring from the panels.
Turns out there was a burnt out MC4 cable connector, so I told them of this break in the DC supply and they asked for a further £300 charge to come and repair it!
Can I post a picture of it here?

Surely this is an install error or system failure, its not something a lay person should be looking for or repairing and the connectors, panels, inverters etc should last many years surely.

TERRIBLE aftercare and attention to customers.

I also have another install by them at another property, and that one has failed too, this time its the battery. And guess what, they want £300 plus VAT to assist.

Thanks for your reply. but your misspelt explanation is not accurate. I have an email here from Carl Hughes asking for the 360 fee to attend to replace the burnt out connector.

Furthermore, on my other install- my discussions with the battery manufacturer have led to THEIR suggestion that the battery has a 'fault'- HardWare issue. And it is not some nonsense about it being at zero charge and needing a manual recharge to get it going again, which, lets confirm here, you are asking for £360 for an engineer visit for 2 hours work. Are you serious!!

ECH fitted a Solar Battery for us in January 2026, with Inverter to connect up to the Solar Panels that they fitted so capably on part of our roof in 2022 (plus a SolisCloud app to be able to follow what they were doing). The electrician who came, and spent all day installing it was EXCELLENT. The young man worked hard all day, confidently, competently, and with consideration. It was a delight to observe, very many thanks to him, and to ECH for organising both the 2022 and 2026 work so well, at a very reasonable price. Very satisfied, and pleased to give them a strong endorsement.

ECH are a really mixed bag. Initially (when they wanted our money) they were very friendly and communicative. This soon changed when red flags began to emerge around the time of the install. Things like, expensive install equipment being left on the side of the road unsupervised, or messy wiring on the side of our property that should have been tidied away (we had to get them to sort this out later). These seemed like minor issues at the time but 11 months ago our solar panel system stopped working altogether. Getting ECH to reply to emails or call back when they said they would was a nightmare. Further, despite not (at this point in time) knowing what the problem was, they were somehow convinced that the problem could have nothing to do with their install and therefore we’d have to pay £250 for the privilege of them coming to take a look. This was certainly not the kind of reassurance we had been promised when we were sold on the system and its rosy-sounding warranty, but Fine. We finally got them to come and take a look and the inverter was eventually found to be faulty. However it also turned out that the bird mesh we had paid extra for had not been installed properly (in the words of ECH’s own roofer), with mesh being simply pushed under the panels on one side and simply left off on the other. We received zero apology for this or the lack of communication and were told that ‘there is no connection between this visit and the bird mesh problem’. Except there is: ECH should have come to finish installing the bird mesh properly from the original install but never did. It was the inverter going down which ultimately led to them fixing their own shoddy work but of course they still insist on charging us full price - outrageous! At this point it’ll be no surprise that there is zero responsibility taken by ECH for their oversights and certainly no reduction on the visit fee offered as recompense. The closest they have come to accepting any accountability is ‘well the guy who installed it doesn’t work for us any more’, well that’s just fine then!!! It seems mad that they apparently lack any QA system to actually ensure the quality of their work, with after-care being less than an after-thought.

My lasting feeling about ECH is that this is a company simply unconcerned with customers once they have your money and the installation is done and I would advise potential customers to be wary.

I had solar panels and battery supplied and installed by ECH Group Ltd. My experience has been very positive in all respects and from everyone that I have dealt with. Carl provided the quotation (competitive and no hard sales) and carried out the survey in a friendly, professional manner with helpful advice. The installation guys and electrician did a great job with the installation being done quickly, neatly and leaving everything clean and tidy. Julie and Leah (office support) were great and I received all the required documentation very quickly. Finally, I spoke to David (technical expert) yesterday as I wasnt sure how to configure the app to align with the Octopus Flux tariff that I am now on (to make sure the battery charges from the grid during the night during the cheap rate period and discharges in the afternoon during the peak rate period). David talked me through what I needed to do and was even able to access our 'plant' remotely to assist in doing this.
Thanks guys, you have all been great! We are now looking at getting an electric vehicle and I will be coming back to ECH to install an EV charger and integrate it into our solar system.

A friend recommended ECH to me back in 2022 and, after comparing their quote with a number of other installers, I used them to install solar panels and a battery at our house in July of that year. The system has been working great since then, and I have recommended ECH to several friends myself, all of whom have gone on to use ECH for their solar installs. I recently used them again to install solar panels at the art centre where I volunteer. The ECH team did a great job again and the art centre is delighted. When I recently contacted Carl to ask if they could take a look at a broken roof tile underneath the solar panels on my house, Carl replied immediately and the team came two days later. They procured a replacement tile, and fitted it – amazing service! I can’t recommend the team at ECH highly enough.

ECH were recommended to me by several people that I know who had both had solar panels and battery systems installed recently. I contacted the firm independently to ask for a quotation, which they were able to provide remotely by assessing the approximate dimensions and volume of our roof space via the web and got back to me quickly with a quote. They were responsive getting back to me with answers to my questions about how things worked and costings.
Once I placed the order, the panel fitters visited to make sure our roof and work space were suitable, they showed up on time, were polite and professional and explained how everything would work. I’d been told all of this when I was referred by a friend so it was re-assuring to hear the same information. They do work very quickly to tight timescales and were able to come the next week after the site survey which was great.
On the day of installation, everything happened as had been explained and the whole job was done by 3pm, it would have been sooner but for Fox taking an hour to respond to an issue raised about a battery not connecting sooner. They left the areas they worked on neat and tidy and everything was fitted as specified. James the electrician who hadn’t seen the site beforehand spent time with me working out what would go where as there were decisions to be made about cabling and what would work best and look nicest afterwards. It would be easy not to bother doing this and just slap the stuff in and do the easiest thing, but they didn’t do this. James was great at clearly identifying what options were, how they would work, explaining what was happening and took care to explain how everything worked afterwards, particularly with the app and how the functionality of the equipment worked. A separate team fit the roof panels, they were polite and efficient. James, the electrician was a lovely bloke and knew his stuff.
All of the communication which I’d preferred to be by email was very quickly responded to and followed up accurately and professionally. There were no pushy emails for sales bashing, which was nice, just very business-like which was what I wanted. I paid a deposit up front which is reasonable and the balance once the work was completed, all of this is clearly signposted and a simple bank transfer sorts it.
There’s some post-installation stuff that needs to happen to register the equipment, ECH do all of that for you and we are still in that process.
I cannot fault anything with the experience and we are delighted with the product we’ve been delivered.

We had the solar panels fitted a few years ago and every year we have to chase for the fit payment and every time I try to email them I never get a response I would give a minus stars rating if I could. We always deal with julie lovett but it normally takes a few months pust the payment date so I would find another company to use.

Very efficient service - the panels and battery were installed very quickly and successfully and the setup is running smoothly.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Carl understood my requirements straight away and offered a system that optimized output on my roof (10% better than competitors) and found great value battery storage (32kWh). All at a reasonable price. Installation was carried out in a day with a super friendly team. All the paperwork was completed at lightning speed. So highly recommended!

Excellent service from start to finish

ECH installed solar panels and a battery for us recently and once again excelled in their responsiveness, customer service, and quality of supply and installation.
This is the second property for which we have used ECH’s services, following the positive experience with our first property. In addition, three other family members have also used ECH based on our recommendation, and were equally satisfied with their installations.
Carl provided his customary quick response to our enquiry and there was no sales pressure, which is so often the case when dealing with other suppliers and contractors. The roof structure was quite complex but between Carl, Shaun the surveyor, and Dave in the technical support team, they managed to find a solution. Post installation support has also been excellent with Leah helping us to obtain the Export MPAN in as short a time as possible.

Had the solar inverter, battery and charger installed few days ago, the solar panels were installed and few days later due to box of brackets lost in post. Team were excellent, on time. Good work ethics. App is all working, easy to understand. Monitoring system has already generated £5 in revenue.

We had our installation just over 3 weeks ago. The team turned up on time and got straight to work. Electrics were completed by mid afternoon with little disruption. The panels were fully installed and connected by 330. Everything had connected and the app loaded and started straight away. The battery updated on the app 2 days later, but there was no interruption to the solar. I am sure this is a good investment, even though it is the summer we have used less than £15 of electricity in that time. It will certainly help to offset costs in winter. We have moved provider to be able to utilise a solar feed in tariff. So at the moment, really happy with everything. We haven't had an issue yet, so can't comment on aftercare, but so far, so good. Very competitively priced. We opted for the larger battery, which fell in our budget.
