The man who served me today was professional, respectful and very helpful. It is service like this that keeps us coming back to East Coast car hire.

Ich hatte ein Premium bzw. Oberklasse SUV mit Allrad Antrieb gebucht (FFBR). Ich erhielt jedoch lediglich einen Standard SUV mit Heckantrieb. East Coast hat den Wagen einfach als Premium Fahrzeug mit Allrad klassifiziert und sich damit aus der Verantwortung gestohlen. Eine Reklamation wurde lapidar einfach abgelehnt.
Am Ende habe ich wesentlich mehr bezahlt als notwendig. Daher kann ich diesen Laden absolut nicht empfehlen.

Recenty rented in Tasmania. Given these guys were cheaper than the car rental places on the airport, I wasn't expecting much, but the free shuttle and customer service was actually better than i've had with some of the big brands.

Car was fine, but very impressed by this company. Will be back.

My 3rd experience with EastCoast Adelaide Airport was as perfect as the previous 2. The welcoming, polite, helpful staff at every point of the process made every aspect a breeze - phone booking, quick shuttle pick-up from airport to office/car yard, no credit card fee for payment, explanation of any part of the car workings that I wasn't familiar with, car return. Wouldn't even consider looking elsewhere for future Adelaide trips. Great value for money. Thanks to Taji, Faheem & Salim at the venue and Alan & Sinas who were great with the shuttle bus.

The price and ease of renting a car was awesome. My only complaint and this is why it was a 4 star and not 5, is that when I made the booking via Booking.com it said the car was a Toyota Rav4 (it was quite specific, there was no ambiguity). However upon collection, you image my surprise when I collected a Haval H6. The Haval was probably bigger and met our needs, but it's not a Rav4. If you advertise one thing, then that is what should be delivered.

Excellent communication upon arrival at the airport and we were quickly picked up by a super friendly man. A fast, uncomplicated check in proceeded at the business (located very close to airport) and we had an upgrade to be able to fit all the suitcases in.
Process to return the car was even speedier! A great team working at this car rental company which I would recommend and use again.

Provided great customer service and were easy to get in contact with. I was happy upon the return of the vehicle that they weren't out to squeeze every cent out of me. I will definitely be a returning customer!

Disappointing experience due to overbooking, long delays, and lack of transparency around a promised refund.

We booked a 5 seated Toyota-class vehicle in advance with East Coast Car Rentals in Tasmania, but at pickup in Launceston we were told none were available due to overbooking. After waiting 1–2 hours, we were offered an MG5 as they said it was from a similar class, which was then found to have a faulty headlight and could not be provided.

We were ultimately given a smaller MG3 and had to sign a new contract. Staff confirmed this was a downgrade and that a refund would be issued, but said only a manager could confirm the amount. We were told we would be contacted, but no one followed up.

At return in Hobart a week after, staff again confirmed the refund was noted in the system but could not provide any amount or timeframe. Multiple follow-ups since then have received no response and it has been a month since we returned the car.

After a terrible experience due to a licensing issue with a rental car company at Brisbane airport, I was lucky enough to hear about East coast car rental in Hendra.

I had a wonderful employee named Shoaib explain and guide me through a car rental for my twin sister and I on our 40th birthday trip to the Sunshine Coast.

Not only did Shoaib patiently guide me but offered me a hybrid car for long distance travel.

I cannot thank east coast rental and Shoaib enough for getting our holiday off on the right track.
Will be renting through this amazing company every time we travel. Thank you Shoaib and East coast rentals Hendra.

Booked a car before I left and when we landed had a text message saying we are very busy so we dont have a car for you. Ouch

We hired a vehicle for a 3 week road trip from Sydney to Brisbane and absolutely loved this company, cannot fault them at all. We didn't have to pay a holding despot which was great, they picked us up from the airport and dropped us off upon departure, will be using them again 10/10 will always recommend, thank you

I put in an enquiry for a car, was accepted, then I received a call & made the necessary arrangements, but when it came time to pay, the system was coming up with my profile being blocked, to which I was told he would call first thing in the morning after he spoke to his manager.
The following day, I received an email stating that I was no longer accepted for a car subscription, due to the blocked profile, of which I rang & had it fixed within a half hour.
I wasn't given the same respect as the days prior when they rang constantly to secure the booking & take my money, instead sending an email, not giving me a chance to let them know the blocked had been fixed.
I received an email after I said as much to which I was told it has to be in writing.
I have owned my own businesses my whole life & know this is bs & called him out in it, to which his manager then sent an email also.
This is the 3rd car subscription company that has been rude, disrespectful & a total dusregard for potential customers & should not be in the sales representative businesses, they have no business being in if they have no idea how to treat people.
I have since found a 2025 all leather interior, for much cheaper & have been treated with the respect I deserve.
If you can't talk respectfully to your potential & current customers, you definitely should not be a sales representative, but need to be in a factory away from any customers, so you aren't losing them for the company owner.
Absolutely disgraceful treatment of someone who was really stressed out, had never done this before, like they do not care if they get my service or not, unfortunate for the owner.

1-Star Review – East Coast Car Rentals Brisbane

Hit with a $65 “stealth tax” at 2am — while travelling with our four-year-old.

We hired a car from East Coast Car Rentals (Brisbane branch) for three weeks while exploring the Gold Coast with our four-year-old son. The rental started fine, but the end of the hire was genuinely shocking.

Before returning the vehicle, I phoned to confirm we could drop the car off around 2am for our early flight. Anna, our reference point, then informed us — for the first time — that East Coast do not accept cars late at night and that we were not allowed to leave the car outside the depot or drop the keys off securely.

Travelling with a small child in the middle of the night is already stressful. Being told this at the last minute made the situation far worse.

What followed was unbelievable: we were told we had to park the car in another company’s car park and pay $65 for a two-minute lift to the airport. No written policy. No verbal warning. No online booking for us to have missed. Yet we were told, “We already informed you,” which simply isn’t true.

To spring a fee like this on customers — especially a family with a four-year-old — at 2am is completely unacceptable for a national rental company. Most car hire companies allow out-of-hours returns; it’s standard practice worldwide.

Forcing customers to hand over $65 because you won’t accept your own vehicle back is, quite frankly, ludicrous.

We won’t be using East Coast Car Rentals again, and I’d urge others to be aware of this hidden, unreasonable practice before booking.

I have used East Coast on 5 separate occasions. Twice in MELBOURNE, twice in Brisbane and once in Adelaide. On each occasion I have found the service to be great and exceptional value for money.
The staff have always been friendly and professional.

I have been booking my hire car every year over the last 5 yrs through East Coast Car Hire Adelaide, because of the excellent and efficient service, I like the shuttle bus pick up because you don't have walk looking for you car from other hire places.
I also like to thank Jack the shuttle bus driver, he was very helpful & friendly.

Couldn’t fault East Coast Noosa, they collected us at airport and took us to depot minutes away, fitted car seat and then fitted another at short notice and looked after our luggage - staff great and price for our KIA Carnival was realistic, finally people who get it! Would highly recommend and use time and again
