If I could give East Coast Appliance zero stars, I absolutely would.
On September 24, East Coast Appliance attempted to deliver and install my dishwasher. Unfortunately, we discovered that the cabinet framing needed to be repaired before installation could take place. Completely understandable. I had the necessary repairs completed and contacted East Coast Appliance to reschedule.
I was then informed that the earliest available delivery date was October 24, an ENTIRE MONTH later, and that I would need to pay an additional $50 redelivery fee. To make matters worse, the representative I spoke with was rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. Nevertheless, I paid the fee and waited.
Fast-forward to October 24. I received multiple emails and text messages confirming that my delivery driver, Mike, was on his way and would arrive in approximately 15 minutes. That notification came at 11:15 a.m.
Well, apparently Mike embarked on an expedition along I-64, because here we are at 9:39 a.m. THE FOLLOWING DAY, and I still have no dishwasher. No delivery. No phone call. No text message. Not even the courtesy of an explanation.
At approximately 5 p.m. on October 24, I contacted East Coast Appliance to find out what was going on. I spoke with Logan, who apologized and assured me she would speak with a manager and get back to me.
Apparently, Logan is still in that meeting, because I never received a callback or update.
This morning, I called AGAIN and spoke with Zach, who had absolutely no idea what happened, why my delivery never arrived, or who dropped the ball. He attempted to contact Mike but received no answer. The proposed solution? Put me back on the delivery schedule for NOVEMBER 3.
Are you kidding me?
I am a nurse. I do not have the luxury of repeatedly rearranging my work schedule, clearing my day, and sitting around waiting for a delivery that may or may not happen. My time is valuable, just as I'm sure theirs is.
What makes this experience particularly unacceptable isn't simply the missed delivery. It's the complete lack of accountability, professionalism, communication, and basic customer service.
Not ONE person proactively contacted me to explain the delay, notify me that the delivery wasn't happening, or offer a resolution. Instead, I've had to chase down answers from employees who seemingly have no idea what's going on.
And now I'm expected to wait until November 3 and simply trust that someone will show up this time?
I've already waited over a month, paid an additional $50, and wasted an entire day waiting for a delivery that never happened.
East Coast Appliance, this is an absolutely embarrassing way to conduct business. Customers should not have to beg for updates about merchandise they've already purchased, nor should they be expected to repeatedly inconvenience themselves because your company cannot manage its deliveries or communicate effectively.
One star is generous.
