When your customers are paying in order to check out of the restaurant, BE PATIENT!!!
All I had to do was:-
1) Connect to the internet.
2) Log in to my bank account.
3) Check for my pin (most people do not remember their pins anymore since we are all tapping away).

The phone and internet was loading a little slow but, not that slow. Calm down.

Due to the 2 waiters acting a fool, clowns at 2 different table were starring at me, gossiping and chatting rubbish amongst themselves. KMT.

Yes, I was ready, I just did not expect my card to not work on the first tap and it was a credit card with money/credit inside!!!

Love your clients to the door and be patient, it took me 2 minute for me to check my phone.

Other than that the food and view was good.

Amazing food, amazing service. The chefs were incredible and Gabi was great.

We have never tried Duck & Waffle before and thought we would try it for the first time for the delicious-looking Thanksgiving dinner. We left the experience that night without really anything nice to say about it.

When we arrived, we waited for a hostess and when she arrived she didn't greet us. I told her we had a reservation and then she took our coats and put both of them on the same hanger. Our table wasn't great - it was right behind the bar and very busy - but honestly nowhere in the restaurant looked nice to sit or else I would have asked to move. We got asked 4 times by 4 separate people if we had allergies - not sure why this information isn't passed along. Three different people were serving us, so we had to clarify we already ordered drinks, etc. but regardless of how many were serving us, I had to keep asking for water refills.

The food was so appalling for what we paid, especially knowing that there are so many great restaurants in Edinburgh that won't charge you that much for mediocre food. One of our starters was brioche bread which was incredibly dry. Then, we had to wait a while for our main dishes - we did get our drinks comped for the wait, and thank goodness for this because at the end of my glass of Merlot, it tasted like wet dog? - and everything was so mediocre! We just couldn't eat one of our sides and had to ask for extra sauce because everything needed it. The dessert was probably the best thing we had, but I could taste the fact it had been sitting in a commercial food storage box for a while.

It really didn't help that I had high hopes for this meal but with £45 a head without drinks or sides, my expectations were high! We weren't even wished a Happy Thanksgiving (we went in the first place to celebrate the holiday) and all the staff just seemed to not really know what they were doing / didn't really care.

I had told a lot of my American friends about this meal and was really expectant of it - but I will definitely tell them to never go and you are much better going to literally any other restaurant in Edinburgh!

I’ve previously visited for breakfast and had a brilliant experience — great quality food and happy, welcoming staff. Unfortunately, this most recent visit was the complete opposite.
From the moment we entered, the staff were miserable. The attitude at the entrance was unwelcoming, and it only got worse once we were seated in the restaurant. It’s clear they have no problem taking your money, even while delivering some of the poorest service I’ve ever experienced.
The service throughout the meal was poor and the staff were unfriendly. I only received one drink during the entire visit, and that was only because I had to stop a member of staff to request one. The Sunday roast was absolutely awful — the meat was inedible and the vegetables were undercooked.
When I complained, the response was disappointing. I was offered a replacement meal, but by that point our allocated table slot was almost over, so it wasn’t a realistic solution. I raised these issues with staff on the day and received little to no response. I also provided feedback when asked by Duck & Waffle afterward, and it wasn’t even acknowledged.
After spending so much time recommending this place to others, this experience has completely undone all the good.

Just had dinner here and found the food to be the best we have had in ages. The most perfectly cooked chips. The service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend

Service is extremely slow. Starters were tasty but the main, signature duck and waffle, was poor. Waffle is cold, duck is overcooked and the duck egg is runny. Unfortunately, I got salmonella from the duck egg.

Excellent service and food - nice relaxing atmosphere. Definitely return.

I am massively disappointed with our experience at Duck and Waffle. I want to point out that we didn’t raise this in the restaurant as we knew this was no fault of the servers who ultimately would end up having to deal with any complaint we made.

The timing of the food was ridiculously long. It took almost 30 minutes to receive our starters. One of which was a salad and the other was the pork sliders which was freezing cold. We then had to wait a further 30 minutes for our Philadelphia cheese steak which was on a ciabatta roll rather than an actually roll like a cheese steak. Additionally, the ravioli was over salted and undercooked.

We then had to skip our desserts as it took so long to get anything. This was our anniversary so was completely underwhelming. I will not be coming back but feel you need to be aware of this to improve for the future. I also will be telling friends and family not to go there for special occasions.

I'm surprised such a popular place has such few reviews. My wife and I always have a great experience here.

Great environment, good food and our waitress Amy was very polite and great to talk to, she made the whole experience very enjoyable

Great brunch with a wonderful view. Service could have been a bit better but overall very good.

The signature dish Duck and Waffle we ordered are too dry, duck is over cooked and the Waffle is cold. Not worth the price for this quality.
Although environment and atmosphere is good but they have to make sure the food served must be hot.
Not recommend to friends.

Booked in for drinks on 29/03/23.Ordered drinks and some fries.Fries took 45 mins and we had to remind the waitress.When she came back she said sorry the kitchen forgot but they are doing them now.After another 10 mins she brought them over and said sorry and they would remove from the bill.When we got the bill they will still on there which I pointed out.The same waitress then replied her manager had overruled her and because we did not complain we now have to pay for them!The waitress,it says Hazel as the name on the receipt insincerely apologised again and I said I do not accept her apology.What can I do she said!The only reason I did not take it further is because it was a treat for my birthday and I did not want to upset my wife.They establishment really need some customer service training.The only good point about the D&W is the lift!View and service is far inferior to the Sky Garden and Iris.In short it the whole experience was a load of waffle.
