In this Dscout app there is never a fit, specially when i am travelling outside United States.
Shadow banned and never knew!
You can be shadow banned and not even know it! They want the user traffic of filling out applications but I was not told I was shadow banned until much later even though I could still fill out applications and never get replys because of the ban! Disgusting business practices!
These people are scam!!
These people are scam!!! Don't use them!!! At your own RISK!!!
I just completed a study with them and followed all the guidelines required but instead of getting the compensation promised, they are trying to scam their way out from paying me.
I have sent mails asking them to review my entries but they just keeping acting like I'm not human.
Scammers!!! It's either you pay for the 12 activities that I completed on your platform or I drop this review everyday.
Watch out for Rejections
Dscout hands out rejections like they are candy. I got a rejection for a study I qualified for that I didn't see in my email before it closed. Yep. I didn't even attempt to do the study and got rejected anyway. Great way to keep participants.
Dscout is absolutely amazing
Dscout is absolutely amazing - a well kept secrets. I make hundreds of dollars every week!
Why Not Try to Earn Some Extra $$
I haven’t had any problems or issues and actually have completed numerous jobs. However, I complete a LOT of surveys with few jobs I am accepted for. Thankfully they are usually pretty short so I don’t mind. On the other hand my wife hates it and doesn’t use the app anymore.
Using a vpn is none of your business!!!!
I have been a member of dscout since 2020 and last year around April 2025 they did some type of update that detects if you are using a vpn and will not allow you to participate in any surveys which is ridiculous. What I use to be online is my business and no one else's. I should be able to override their system about this somehow. Was a very good platform prior to this. Very disappointing
Refuses to pay for work after their "known bug" fails to record data
I have been a user of Dscout for a while, but their recent handling of technical issues is completely unacceptable.
I recently qualified for a mission and was transferred to their desktop site to complete it. I spent about 12 minutes doing the work. However, due to a "known bug" (which support explicitly admitted to me via email), their system failed to record my progress properly.
When I reached out for compensation, they admitted their logs showed I was on the site for 12 minutes, but because their broken system didn't register a specific "start mission" click on the backend, they refused to pay me. They acknowledged the platform was broken at the time but claimed it was my fault the data wasn't there.
Essentially, Dscout expects you to spend your time attempting missions, and if their platform crashes or fails to save your work, you get $0. They take no responsibility for their own technical failures and gaslight users who try to get paid for their time.
Do not waste your time here if you expect fair treatment.
You give up ALL privacy
This site is about the worst one I have studied in my security career. Sign up with them ONLY if you want to give up all of your personal information. You need to know they follow you wherever you go and monitor all of your activity. They garner and sell and trade all of your privacy. Read it for yourself when you put their extension on your computer and they ask you to activate. It is all there.
From 'ok' to 'terrible'
Over the past year, Dscout has gone from 'ok' to terrible. Although I've completed a profile and have successfully completed a number of studies, the app increasingly uses a "Throwing spaghetti at the wall" approach in recommending studies. Almost all the studies are not applicable. They just leave it up to the user (me) to sort through the pile one by one. They really owe me money for all the hours I've wasted weeding through their b.s. applications. Oh, and if you are not a big-spender consumer who books expensive trips, is buying a house soon, or is just constantly buying crap, they are really not interested in your opinion.
Critical Failure in DScout Mission Integrity and Compensation Process
I completed a live mission on dscout which was confirmed as successfully completed by the platform. I was told to expect the full payment of $100. Instead, I was only issued $20 with no clear explanation and almost no ability to appeal the decision.
The reviewer stated at the beginning of the session that “there are no wrong answers,” yet my payment was reduced because I had difficulty navigating the product interface which is exactly the type of user insight they claim to value. Penalizing a participant for an honest usability disconnect completely undermines the purpose of user research.
Communication with dscout has been incredibly difficult. There is no fair review process, responses are slow, and the platform appears biased toward outcomes that favor the client rather than objective user feedback. Being told a mission was completed successfully, only to receive partial payment afterward, feels misleading and unprofessional.
This experience has shaken my trust in dscout’s process and fairness. If the goal is genuine, organic user insights, then participants should not be punished for providing them.
Really don't go with other reviews
Really don't go with other reviews. I qualified a survey and they paid me really well. Though opportunities are very low. But when you get, it's even fun to do the task.
It worked and they paid!
I think a lot of the negative reviews come from people who are frustrated with continuously getting rejected. They pay well for a reason. You have to be persistent, consistent and honest. As you answer questions, Dscout is building a profile for you. If you’re honest and consistent, you will eventually find “missions” that you qualify for. The more you complete successfully, the more likely you are to qualify for new missions. It takes a lot of patience and a bit of luck. I was very skeptical and withheld judgment until I received payment. But if you stick with it, you can actually make money on this app.
I signed up in September
I signed up in September, was able to complete 2 small missions and have not been able to "qualify" for a single study since. EVERYTHING is not a good fit. Too bad, these pay really well.
Had to dispute not getting payment bc of their tech issue
Tread carefully - They initially did not pay me for a thoughtful & thorough review. I very carefully did an express mission with multiple videos and question responses and was quite thoughtful in my responses. I even took longer than it estimated as made notes to refer to before hand. I had a steady video and clear audio and made sure i covered everything. They refused to pay me, saying it was not up to their "quality standards" which seemed fishy to me as I do a ton of other surveys and are always told i do a great job. After I contacted them they said there was an upload issue and said they would pay me as it was their error, but I wouldn't have been paid had I not contacted them. The customer service was prompt and great, id just keep in mind that this could happen. (im updating my review from 1 star to 3 stars because of the great customer service response)
1 star at the moment done my first…
1 star at the moment done my first mission said finished on 22nd didn't close until 25th after I said about it seems to good to b true had no update regarding payment just keep getting told wait 10 days can't understand y it takes so long when other sites are straight away or within a day or 2
Wasted my time, reviewing a phone app
I was working with somebody through Dscout evaluating the phone tool that we are using to work remotely for my business. I’ve spent weeks and weeks doing all of the dscout uploads. And I have not heard back from the person that I’m doing this for since before Christmas. When I reached out to dscout I was told they had no idea who I was talking about. But I should reach back out to that person. Who had a Dscout email address. I wasted my time and they got all the information that they needed and then ghosted me.
It's good
Decent app. I don't get selected much, but when I do the pay is pretty good in my opinion.
dscout is the bomb
This is my all time favorite side hustle of all time and I can submit payment proof. I have never had any issues with payment. Jobs range from a few minutes to a couple hours but the pay is well worth it. Jobs are varied so there is something for everyone and incudes immediate payout on mini missions. Topics are always of interest . Never had a boring mission,
The site itself is fine - It's the researchers who are confused
The site itself is fine - I've been using the site since 2020 as a scout - The employees are prompt and polite.
It's companies not knowing how the missions and sites work that is the issue.
They accidentally send invitations before going "That was an accident." I recently joined a mission that ended suddenly after doing one of the steps.
I do agree that the Express missions are rather hit or miss when it comes to being paid, though there are steps taken to remedy this; You won't get paid immediately, but at least you will be paid.
If this is happening across multiple researchers, something is unclear or confusing in the documentation.
We are now having mission payouts happen days later. The company protects themselves by asking us to wait "7-10 Business days", but in the past, it would take maybe a day at most.
Any delay will be seen as a service issue, no matter what you write in.
