J'ai un document à traduire trop gros pour G Translate. Je trouve alors DicTranslator qui me propose un forfait à 2$ et je souscris. Après avoir chargé mon document on me demande plus de 200$ pour le faire traduire par une IA alors qu'un abonnement à 20$ chez Anthropic peut le faire. On arrive sur de la dérive du modèle Freemium que je considère presque comme de l'arnaque. Plus jamais je ne travaillerai avec vous croyez moi. C'est pas comme ça que vous gagnerez des utilisateurs sur le long terme...

After you have signed and made your trial period payment it turns out there are limitations and that they want more money.
When I 10 minutes later ask for a refund and close the account I get the answer it is not the company policy.
And that the terms are provided on their web-page.

I could have paid more to get the job done, but why cant they be more transparent about the limitations on the sign up page. I have found another price page now on the site......but why not explain the terms on the sign-up page? Fraudulent I call it.

Op de site staat dat je zonder probleem weer op kan zeggen. Niks is minder waar. Of je eerst ff je password wil veranderen anders kan je niet afzeggen. Wachtwoord gewijzigd en nog geen cancel kunnen doen. Ook kan je in de proefperiode maar 3000 woorden vertalen!

I translated one document. What I didn't realize was that I had inadvertantly signed up for a storage space. It was 3 months before I noticed and asked for a refund. The email response was terse and unhelpful. I just received another charge on my card!!!!! I've logged and tried to cancel this. If it happens again, I'll have to try some legal route.

This looks like a scam disguised as a translation service.

I used DocTranslator ONE time to translate a document for my child into Czech. The translation quality was awful, but fine — I thought I wasted a few dollars and moved on.

What I didn’t know was that they quietly enrolled me into a recurring subscription and started charging my card $14.99 every month since February. Almost $60 was taken from my account without my knowledge for a service I never used again.

I never intentionally subscribed to anything. I came for a ONE-TIME translation service, not a hidden monthly membership.

Their support claims the subscription terms were “mentioned” somewhere during checkout. That is exactly the problem — if customers keep missing it, then it is clearly designed to be unnoticed. Charging people repeatedly after a one-time purchase without obvious and explicit consent is extremely deceptive.

No reminder emails. No clear warning. No obvious confirmation of recurring billing. Just silent monthly charges.

When I contacted support, they refused to refund anything and hid behind their “company policy.”

After reading other reviews, I realized I am far from the only person this happened to.

Be very careful with this company. Check your bank statements after using their service because you may discover months later that they have been quietly taking money from your account.

I wanted to translate a document and registered, becaus of a "register for free" button. Thinking that the service has a free service frame. After confirming the Email, I could not enter the site, without choosing a payment plan. Very decieving. This is the text on the website:

I used DocTranslator because I needed a one-time translation of a marriage certificate. I found the service through Google and came to the website only to translate one document.

I paid for the translation and received the translated document after waiting several days. This was supposed to be a one-time document translation order.

A few days later, DocTranslator charged my card an additional $29.99. This charge was made without any clear warning, without a separate confirmation, and without any obvious notice that my card would be charged again after the translation order.

I did not receive a clear, direct, and unavoidable warning at checkout saying that I would be automatically charged $29.99 later. I was not asked to separately confirm a subscription. I was not clearly informed that a one-time translation order would turn into a paid subscription.

When I contacted DocTranslator Support and requested a refund, they refused. Their support team replied that the checkout page “indicated” a 7-day trial and that I would be charged $29.99 automatically unless canceled beforehand.

This is exactly the problem. If a company is going to charge a customer’s card later, this must be shown in a clear, direct, and unmistakable way. It should not be hidden inside checkout wording or presented in a way that a customer ordering a single document translation can miss.

I came to DocTranslator for one translated document. I did not come to buy a subscription. I paid for the translation, received the translation, and then they charged me another $29.99 without any clear warning.

In my opinion, this is a misleading billing practice. A customer should not be charged for a subscription after a one-time document translation unless the subscription is clearly presented, separately confirmed, and impossible to miss.

Based on my experience, I do not recommend this service. Be extremely careful before entering your card details on DocTranslator. Take screenshots of every checkout step, check for hidden subscription terms, and cancel immediately if you see anything related to a trial or recurring billing.

These bast-ards offer a free week. Then you are trapped into paying indefinately, as their "deactivation" button does not work. DO NOT USE THEM. THEY ARE CROOKS
