As a 2nd year medical student, finding the balance between great quality and good value for money regarding medical equipment is tricky. I want products that will last me for a significant portion of my career, but also products that don’t break my bank! Doctors Essentials truly provides equipment that fall perfectly in the balance.

Overall, I think this is a useful website that future healthcare students should use, to ensure they are receiving legitimate equipment from a responsible seller at a fair price. I know all too well, that buying equipment like stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs and dressings can usually be a nightmare, having to buy them all from different sellers. Seeing all the products in one place and being able to buy them all from one reliable company, is not only easier but gives me a sense of security when purchases such important items online.

All the products I received are from ADC, which in all honesty I was a little skeptical about at first. It’s not a company I had heard of before! The prices were significantly lower than other competitors, which made me believe the products could feel plastic and ‘cheap’. However, I was stunned how wrong I was. To elaborate, most new healthcare students opt for a Littmann Classic 3 which retails in the UK for around £91-100. Whilst the ADC adscope details for £40-50. That’s half the price. Like all new medical students, I got my Littmann Classic 3 in Year 1, even got a unique colour and had it engraved. I do adore my Littmann 3, I use it all the time and it’s never let me down. I compared them both side by side, and I was SHOCKED as I actually PREFER the cheaper ADC adscope to my Littmann Classic 3. It has a lighter feel, it sits far more comfortably on my neck and the rubber ear pieces fit my ears more snug. So I can conclude, I will be using the ADC adscope on my placements instead. I would stress to all medical students, if you are looking for a reliable, good value, lightweight and comfortable stethoscope/. You don’t need to break the bank and pay £100s for reliable medical equipment and Doctors Essentials if proof of that!

I haven’t had a chance to use the products yet but the quality is great! The infrared thermometer is so easy to use and I love the portable size of the diagnostic instruments. Even the pen torch has a great bright light and comes with batteries :) very happy with this. Thank you!
