Exceptional Service! We had to make an itinerary change at short notice and Steven was wonderfully accommodating at making sure this request was implemented. The vehicle turned up on time and the driver was extremely patient considering we had a group of excitable kids onboard.

booking for 14 ladies there and return. Last minute organisation to have a bus available (1 hours notice the driver got - booking done months ago). They outsource to other bus owners/drivers. Lots of confusion about return journey and speaking to different companies ultimately left 14 ladies stranded in Liverpool to make there own way home to Scotland. No refunds offered.

I recently used Direct Coach Hire for a sporting event, and I couldn't be happier with the service. From the moment I contacted them to inquire about availability to the drop-off after the event, everything was handled with professionalism and efficiency. The coach was clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the amenities we needed for a smooth journey. The driver was punctual, courteous, and navigated through traffic with ease. Our entire team was impressed with the experience, and I highly recommend Direct Coach Hire to anyone in need of reliable transportation services.

I really want to give this zero stars but as that's not possible, I'll give it one.

We booked on their website and was sent a quote from the company confirming that we had requested an 10-16 seater minibus. We were 6 passengers plus 6 cases and 6 hand luggage, plus bags. Due to the large amount of luggage, we requested a 10-16 minibus to accommodate this.

However, what arrived was a 6 seater car.

Obviously that was not appropriate, however we made it work, thanks to the wonderful driver, whose name unfortunately evades me now (Female, Eastern European), who picked up our luggage and made it fit in the too-small vehicle.

Though she made it fit in, it was still VERY unsafe as we had to travel with one of the cases which didn't fit in the boot, between our legs and she had to pack the cases so high in the boot that she could not see out of the window! The company forced the driver and us, into a very unsafe outbound journey. They then forced us to take the same unsafe journey on our return!

We tried to call before the return trip to rectify the error and was told that they sent a 6 seater for 6 people. We explained that, this was not what was requested and not what we paid for (baring in mind, we booked in October 2023 and had several back-and-forth emails confirming our request, right up until the day before departure).

They continued to argue and said that if we wanted the 10-16 seater, we would have to pay again for it (even though we had already paid for this as a return journey in October).

They then refused to answer the phone or respond to emails, saying they were 'out of office' and 'working from home'.

To see if this was true, I made another booking under a different name and email/number from a similar arrival and departure address. Not only did they email me back multiple times, almost immediately but they also called me 3 times on the same day that they said they were unavailable on the phone.

We ended up returning with the same 6 seater, with complete refusal to give us the 10-16 seater we had requested and with no compensation, and no offer to, at least return the excess that we paid.

Absolutely HORRIBLE Service.

Instead of enjoying our family holiday together, we spent the entire week unsure of how we were going to return home and being bullied by the company into purchasing ANOTHER journey, even though we had already paid for it.

Honestly?? I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!) The lead organiser of our holiday paid for a 9-16 seater minibus, in order for us to enjoy a relaxing drive to our 2 hour destination in Suffolk. Bearing in mind, that one of our party had a disability and needed space to stretch, we were sent a 6 seater PEOPLE CARRIER!! We had a lot of luggage and the rear view mirror was obscured by our luggage! A very obnoxious rep, tried to talk us down and was very disdainful and rude! We had an uncomfortable journey going, and tried to ask for a larger minibus (as was originally requested) for our return home. Nobody bothered to respond until my daughter made a new booking enquiry and left a message for someone to call her back, and yes, you guessed it! The same obnoxious rep returned her call THREE TIMES!!
We are a family who travel often, but this company has lost our business. We will NOT be recommending them EVER!!

Horrendous experience. We booked a 9-16 minibus for our return trip for 6 people, which included 6 large cases and 6 smaller cases (so 12 pieces of luggage in total). Our invoice specified that a 10-16 seater minibus had been paid for (discrepancy there as the website says 9-16). We specifically wanted a bigger vehicle to ensure there was ample room for our luggage. I was told I would be contacted 24 hours prior to our trip on the driver details, this did not happen. I tried to contact the day before for this information along with confirmation of the size of our vehicle. I was not able to get through to anyone until the morning of our trip and was then told that a 6 seater vehicle (which was a people carrier, not a minibus) arrived for us...
To that say we were livid is an understatement. After going back and forth with them, we ended up having to use the 6 seater people carrier for both our outgoing and return journeys as they would not admit fault and rectify their mistake unless we paid AGAIN for a larger vehicle. We had only JUST fit into the 6 seater people carrier and both journeys were very uncomfortable, hence why we wanted to book an actual minibus..
For a company to claim that they are the leading minibus and coach hire company in the UK is absolute joke. Please know that if you book with this company, they will take it upon themselves to select the size of your vehicle and seem to do this based on the amount of passengers. Terrible experience with this company and would not book with them again under any circumstance.

We paid big money for airport transport and we find out the day before that our flight cancelled and we will find out new times with 8 hours. When we got our new times 8 pm called the office what was closed no out of hours contact details . We had no choice but had to dive our car as no one would respond.when they finally picked up the phone in the morning I said to them you need to cancel the minibus as we had no choice but drive the car then I got an arrogant answer it’s not our fault we still charge you the full amount I said that it’s disgusting as all other professional companies have out of hours contact and they all should give the driver details . Now the guy Richard telling me they were extremely busy so my scheduled driver couldn’t have come 2 hours earlier to pick us up? Who was scheduled to pick us up anyway when I booked it they promised if any changes we alter the time and they failed and now they want to keep all money when they failed they service

After being let down by a company in the past I was worried about booking a coach again, I should not have been concerned at all. Booking was easy as was making payment (secure and easy). The coach arrived and was very clean and the driver really looked after us.

I am already booking again with them for a trip in the new year.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!
We had booked a bus for 45 people and paid in full. The pick up for the way home we were waiting 3.5 hours to find out they had let the wrong people on the bus. Both people I had spoken to including the manager they did not seem to care and I was hung up on twice. They also lied about trying to contact us to say that they were here, we gave 5 numbers over which no one rang at all. Also asking us to pay an extra fee for them to return back to get us. They finally agreed to come and get us free of charge but once I said the service was appalling the MANAGER threatened to turn the bus back around and leave us stranded in England. When the bus arrived it had people already on it who claimed “they haven’t paid a penny”. The toilet on the bus did not work but the driver said we can use it anyways, and we had to drop the other people off before getting home ourself resulting in us being home hours after we should have. The customer service is absolutely disgusting and I wouldnt recommend anyone thinking to book don’t do it if you want stranded :)

They really saved the day - I was let down by another company and Direct Coach Hire stepped in and organised everything. The staff on the phone were attentive and even recommended leaving earlier to ensure we arrived on time. The driver on the day was brilliant and cheerful even though our collection time was 5am!!! The coach itself was spotless and the journey went like a dream.

Cannot recommend Direct enough. Provided 2 coaches to transport our guests and everything ran smoothly.
