My husband got a nitrosurge device for his birthday 7 months ago. Stopped surging so emailed to complain.they couldnt care less as i didnt have the receipt. Their customer care or lack of it is shocking. But they did said i hope you continue to enjoy our product. What a joke. Severe lack of customer care

Wouldn’t even give them 1/2 a star. Awkward to deal with, trying to get glassware to serve THEIR product is like getting blood out of a stone!!!

This is a general review that I'm aiming at Diageo as they own the Guinness brand, a drink that I've enjoyed for nearly 40 years now but which I'm sure is now coming to an end due to the exorbitant price. Unfortunately all beer/spirit prices have gone crazy in the last 7/8 years or so but Guinness is easily one of the worst offenders. Yes I know everything has gone up and government taxes don't help but speak to any landlord and they will tell you that the main rise is with the manufacturer. What I don't understand is that with less and less young people having any interest in 'drinking' and with the older generation being forced away due to these ridiculous costs they're actively shrinking their own market, its ridiculous. Diageo were recently quoted as saying 'it had kept price increases to a minimum, reflecting the rising costs in the supply chain and said retail pricing was "entirely at the discretion of the retailer/wholesaler". They also claimed that the average price of a pint in the UK was £5.21, not in any of my local pubs it isn't.

As I said at the start this is aimed at Diageo as I'm a Guinness drinker but it applies to all breweries, your actively destroying your markets. Please rethink your strategy.

Distilleries in Scotland under previous owners had for over 100 years given draff to local crofters as cattle feed. This was essential to them and made environmental sense.

This changed when Diageo purchased Scottish distilleries. Local crofters could no longer use the draff they depended on. Instead it is transported elsewhere in Lorry’s (often from the other end of the country) as this is more lucrative.

It is sad to see Diageo putting profit before the interest of local communities and the environment. They have cut ties with local crofters and put extra traffic (and carbon emissions) on roads which are already overburdened.

Diageo claim to be “inclusive and sustainable”. This is nothing more than corporate nonsense by a company trying to portray itself as something it is most certainly not.

Booked 2 tickets online V there site to visit Guinness Storehouse in Dublin Ireland. Sadly I had to cancel one day later due to a hospital appointment. I did give them 9 Days notice. Now after 3 emails to DIAGEO No Contact. Is this they way they ROB People who that cannot make it on the date

Firstly I would like to state I have been frequenting Biddy’s O’Dowd’s Bar Athlone since Opening in 2022 a Couple of Times a Week during that time I rarely got a bad pint of Guinness their was NO PROBLEM replacing a pint if this happened but in Recent Times Bad Pints of Guinness were a Regular Occurrences at Biddy’s Bar Regrettably ..
GREED is a TERRIBLE THING if your in the PUB / CATERING BUSINESS or any business serving the Unsuspecting Citizens of Ireland and Visitors DEADLY PRODUCTS !
I have always Promoted Biddy’s and similar Business that is Selling Good Food or Drinkable Products I frequented the old bar in the late 1980’s so I have the Experience of GOOD and BAD products like Guinness for FORTY YEARS which in anyone’s books Qualifies Me to WRITE this Review and Hurts Me at the same Time .. If Irish Citizens the Public Cannot Trust Publicans Luckily they are Rare around Athlone anyway .. I also was SUBJECTED to Verbal Abuse by Chris Hewitt Licence Owner when he PHONED ME like a Creature POSSESSED … I hung Up on him eventually ..
I got a Superb Pint of Guinness on entering the Pub it was Very Quiet I was the only customer drinking the Good Stuff
“Guinness Draught” everyone else was drinking Beers / Larger which should raised a Red Flag for me ..
I complemented Trish owners sister on the Great Quality of the Guinness as I do Everywhere from Ireland to Portugal and further where I get a Great Pint I ordered a Second Pint of Guinness !!
The Second Pint was as different as Chalk and Cheese Brown / Black Bubbles Accross its Head I won’t say Guinness as it wasn’t Guinness but Slops … How this Transformation from My First Superb Pint of Guinness to the Second Pint is IMPOSSIBLE unless the Barrel was finished and Trish replaced the Barrel with a New Barrel which was OFF and could be Replaced with another New Keg if that is what Happened or the Original barrel was tampered with … I made Trish aware of the Problem Replied “ it might be the Glasses !!!! “ as she hadn’t changed the Guinness Barrel I left it with her I ordered a Replacement Pint of Guinness from Trish it was EXACTLY the Same UNDRINKABLE I made Trish aware again … New Customer entered the pub and Ordered a Pint of Guinness like a Shot Trish ran again down the stairse to the Cellar .. Trish visits the Cellar Very Frequently ..
When Trish served the Pint of Guinness to the New Customer it looked Exactly the Same as my First Pint of Guinness which was a TOTAL Transformation NOT …
I pointed the Guinness Transformation to Trish but got NO REPLY !!
In fact I got the COLD SHOULDER !!
I Left Biddy’s Pub as I was made UNWELCOME by Trish’s Attitude towards ME ..
I got a Drinkable Pint of Guinness which I had No Problem obtaining in Athlone … I sent Trish a Picture of the “GOOD PINT” of GUINNESS which I had NO PROBLEM obtaining here in Athlone ..
Less than an Hour I was Subjected to a phone call from Chris Hewitt Trish’s brother a TERRAIN of ABUSE ROARING DOWN the PHONE at ME
HE was like a Creature POSSESSED by some Substance !!
I would also state their may be a Breach of the Data Protection Act 2018 as Chris Hewitt stated that he would make sure that I wouldn’t get served in any Pub an Athlone as he was printing my picture off Pub CCTV

This is All Over me making Trish aware of a Bad Pint of Guinness which can happen in any Pub .. I looked on Trish as a Friend telling her Personal Private stuff
I thought we were Friends or so she made Out by Poisoning Me !!
I drank in that old pub in the late 1980’s which has been closed for years that’s showing my age I was drinking here before Chris Hewitt was Born !!
So I Hope Chris and Trish aren’t showing a different Side of themselves by being AGEST to their Customers !

Terrible customer service can't get micro draught cans for love or money complained to the rep nadeer and told him supermarket is full of guinness but we can't get it for pub his reaction was change to Murphy then what a joke

Nitrosurge unit failed after about 5/6 months and Diageo have refused to replace it as I didn't retain the purchase receipt.

This comes shortly after my previous nitrosurge failed a few weeks outside the warranty period, which they also refused to replace.

THE NITROSURGE SAGA
I purchased a nitrosurge charging unit at a cost of £25 end of February 2024 and used it approx.. 4 times per week until beginning of December 2024 when there was little or no nitrosurge cans of Guinness available. By the start of February 2025 they became more readily available and the charger came back into use. By mid March the charger started to fail. I initially thought it was the nitrosurge cans and contacted Diageo customer centre who initially were very sympathetic and asked me to send two unopened cans back to them. This I did, but then thought perhaps it was the charger. I borrowed a charger from a friend which worked and proved the unit was faulty. I notified Diageo of this. Their response was that they could not replace the charger as it was 2 to 3 weeks outside the warranty but as a gesture of good will they would send a voucher.
Bearing in mind that I had by now lost 6 cans of nitrosurge and a unit that was just out of warranty costing £25 and was out of pocket by about £45. I was taken aback by Diageo whose post tax profits were £3.73 BILLION when they presented me with a voucher for £15. I am a pensioner (not looking for sympathy) who has to be careful with money for the few creature comforts available to me. Frankly I find Diageo’s uncaring attitude appalling. I understand the latest charging units are now 20% dearer at £30, made in China and by all accounts have failed and continue to cause problems for a number of customers. Profits before customers???????

I Contacted Diageo 12 days ago regarding watered down Original Guinness, was told that they would send me packaging to return product for them to test. They have clearly posted packaging via slow boat to China. Oh well their loss as I will never be purchasing Guinness again.

Found living insects in my drink , reported it and was told to send back and they would send packaging out . Waited on said date nothing arrived had to call them and was told packaging would arrive it did . Hardly no care of the problem and how it may have affected me , I returned goods with all the info not one telephone call or E-mail received . Rang them back and was told it was being looked into an would receive a reply by the end of the week , Not a single call or reply rang back was told it was still being looked into and that I would be hearing back at the end of the week , nothing ! Rang back and was told it had been sorted and would be hearing something by the end of the week end of Jan , hear I am 17th of Feb and nothing I have pictures of the said creatures you have not taken this seriously and have treated me poorly .You keep changing your reasons and feeding me with very poor replies it about time i talk to people who will listen ,I await your reply.

Myself like thousands of others have purchased the Guinness Nitrosurge pourer for £30 plus only to find after purchase that I cannot buy the nitrosurge cans anywhere in the UK at a reasonable price. Is this a high class scam?? They have been out of stock for weeks.

I bought Captain Morgan Spiced Gold alcohol free rum at Asda. The "alcohol free" was mot at all obvious on the bottle or on the shelf label. At home I took one sip. It is like watered down dish detergent, filtered through cardboard. Truly revolting. Will flush down the sink. How can a big brand sell such utter garbage!

Recently bought Captain Morgan Dark Rum has completely CHEMICAL repulsive taste, makes you seriously not want to drink it because it tastes so chemical that you are nervous it is actually harmful. Tastes like something that should absolutely not be consumed!! Watch out, they seem to have changed their ingredients, do not waste your money because you are in for a shock.

Bad whiskey, worse customer support. Received a dodgy batch of their Wilder Seas, and was told that they weren't willing to do anything to rectify the situation. Will be shopping with a competitor from now on!

The whisky they sell is indeed great stuff but it is overpriced, watered down to 40%, chill-filtered, coloured and sold in unnecessary fancy packaging. A good example of this is the new Mortlach range soon to hit the shelves. Whisky in my opinion should be sold the way it comes out the cask, not turned into a mass produced product.
