We could not recommend Amy Cate more at Destination Weddings!!! Amy helped us plan a combined Bachelor/Bachelorette party in Jamaica, and she was fantastic to work with. She made organizing a group of 30 people as easy as it possibly could be. Amy was extremely responsive, and we couldn't have had a more incredible time - mostly due to her expertise!!!!

We had an amazing experience with Destination Weddings for our dream Caribbean wedding. Our wedding planner, Stephanie Parks, was incredibly helpful from start to finish. She made what could have been a very stressful process feel very easy. We had a large wedding group with a lot of moving pieces, and throughout everything Stephanie was quick to respond to every question, friendly, and a true professional. I had my wedding at Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa on 2/20/25 and would highly recommend not only this venue but also using DestinationWeddings.com to help you plan! My coordinator was Melinda Shelley and she has been working with me for a year and a half to get everything in order. The services through DW are free and Melinda was so attentive to me and my guests throughout the entire process. She helped me pick this resort, set up a room block, and communicate everything with the resort wedding department. One of the most difficult decisions for me was choosing a resort. Melinda gave me all of the information I needed and also had great personal insight into many of the resorts since they frequently travel and view these locations themselves.

Everything was very seamless and she also helped us with guests' changes in rooming plans or flight delays impacting transportation. All of our guests also had great things to say about working with Melinda to book their accommodations. I would highly recommend Melinda and DW to anyone in need of assistance. They even reimbursed me special perks in the end as well! Melinda was 10/10 the most courteous, attentive, and kind coordinator we could have asked for. I am so happy she was matched with us because she helped me make all of my wedding dreams a reality!

Here was my situation:

I planned a vow renewal trip two years ago (2023) for our 25th year anniversary. The trip money was due February 15 2025 which was the day to cancel for a full refund. I canceled January 10 2025 due to me having cancer and having to go through chemo treatments at the time that our trip would have been occurring. The trip was paid in full by me way ahead of time in the amount of $3,461.70. My travel agent Tori advised me that refunds would be 45 to 60 days out from the date of cancellation. We were well past those 60 days and no refund was received despite me reaching out to Tori and requesting an update. She advised me several times that she would check the status but had never gotten back with me. Then she stopped responding. With my illness, I cannot be stressed and I was beyond stressed!

Enter Teresa MacDonald on Monday 03/17/2025 : She informed me that Tori was no longer with the company and that she would contact accounting and her team to find out the status of the refunds. Teresa was very patient and accommodating throughout all of my constant emails. Never did I detect any attitude or non-compassion toward the situation. She remained professional and courteous throughout the whole process. I could not have asked for a better representative of the company to look into my issue. She followed up and answered all of my emails each time. Teresa followed up and had the refund status by Thursday 03/20/2025. The stress I was feeling disappeared and restored my faith in this company. Will I book again when I am hopefully in remission? Yes I will. My experience with Tori was great up until I had to cancel the trip due to my illness. Teresa is such an asset to your company from what I experienced. You have a winner on your team and I thank her tremendously for following up and assisting with my issue.

Maggie Elles at Destination Weddings was an absolute lifesaver for our destination wedding in the Dominican Republic. With over 60 attendees, we knew we needed help, and Maggie went above and beyond. She expertly handled all the planning, ensured the resort delivered on their promises, and provided exceptional service. Her dedication made our wedding day better than we could have ever imagined. We are so grateful for her support and highly recommend her!

SCAM! Paid for 3 nites in Punta Cana for premium room 4 months ahead of event. When we arrived the premium room we paid for and they CONFIRMED wasn't available! Insult to injury, they blamed the resort! I had a contract with destinationweddings, NOT the resort. They took money for services that weren't rendered!

We had a great experience using destination weddings. I was a little hesitate picking a resort to get married at without being there to see it first, but they had so many details for every resort it made the decision making so easy. Brittany made everything run so smooth, and was so attentive during the entire process. She was a great point of contact for all of my guests, and it was amazing always having someone to help in any way or answer any questions I had. I always got replies in a timely manner, and every guest I’ve spoken too has had great things to say about the wedding! I will 100% be using destination weddings and brittany to book any larger trip or vacation in the future. Thank you so much again! It was great!

My now husband and I used Destination Wedding to plan our symbolic wedding ceremony, we had in Feb. 2025. We started planning well in advance and our agent Tracy Sheehan was amazing!! I have never traveled overseas, nor got married, nor put a wedding together. Tracy definitely put me at ease every step of the way. I probably gave her a few gray hairs, but she stuck it out and coordinated, arranged, and preplanned everything to make a smooth and seamless journey and beautiful wedding. The concierge Filo, from Namale Resort (where we stayed) was just as wonderful. We felt at home when we got to the resort and the kindness we were greeted with was unmatched and genuine. Tracy would check in with us during our trip as well and let us know she was there if we needed her. I could not have asked for a better experience, because of Tracy Sheehan (Destination Weddings) and then Filo as well as every single member of (Namale Resort) who made our ceremony and trip beyond measure or words. Thank you (Vinaka) qai sota tale, Namale family.

We had a great experience with Amy! Our wedding ended up being fabulous and it all started with choosing DestinationWeddings. A lot of other brides at our resort (Secrets Playa Blanca) have complained that the resort coordinator is slow to respond but we never had that issue and I truly think that's because of the relationship DestinationWeddings has with the resorts. Amy made it easy for anyone to book their rooms or make changes along the way! Overall, very very happy!

We booked 2 rooms for my daughters wedding from the destinationweddings.com site per directions received from my daughter. One room was to have 2 beds for my 3 boys. When we arrived at 9pm at night and the boys went to their room, there was only 1 king bed. When pointed this out, the staff said we needed to contact destinationwedding to fix, but they could not do anything that night except put a cot in there. I emailed Diane at destinationwedding. The next morning when I showed the manager the room reservation my boys were supposed to get, she told me that room did not exist at their resort, but was at a sister resort. Diane emailed me about trying to get something worked out. NOTHING CHANGED and my boys stayed crammed into a tiny room with one sleeping on a cot. After the fact, still nothing from destinationwedding to try and make it right.

Samantha Russom did a fantastic job helping us plan our Cancun wedding.

A destination wedding has a ton of logistical planning that traditional weddings do not, Samantha helped guide us and our guests through each step of the process. I always felt like I was in good hands when I was working with her, and she promptly answered all of our questions (we had a lot of them!) She sent out detailed information for our guests at the appropriate times.

Our wedding would not have gone so smoothly and been so memorable without her help, she deserves a lot of credit. I highly recommend working with destinationweddings.com and specifically Samantha!

DESTINATION WEDDINGS RUINED MY WEDDING!
I always dreamed of a small beach destination wedding, but my biggest concern was planning everything from afar. I came across Destination Weddings, and they sold me a dream—promising a dedicated guide to help me organize and navigate the process. That DID NOT happen.
The only thing Destination Weddings did was reserve rooms for my group—something I could have done myself for better rates and without their outrageous cancellation fees.
I started planning nearly a year in advance, but as my wedding date approached, I realized something was very wrong. Five months out, I still hadn’t heard from the hotel I chose, Ocean Coral Spring, Jamaica—and the only communication from Destination Weddings was about room reservations. I contacted my agent, Tina Cooper, and she simply sent the hotel an email… no response.
Three months out, still no contact from the hotel, and again, my agent just sent another email. Five weeks out, I was livid—I kept getting excuses about the hotel's wedding planner being busy, sick, or unavailable. I could not trust them with my wedding day.
I had no choice but to reschedule my wedding at a different location due to their lack of communication and professionalism. When I escalated my concerns to Destination Weddings, they refused to refund my guests, many of whom no longer wanted to travel internationally.
Destination Weddings only cared about securing money for hotel rooms—not about actually assisting with my wedding. Their entire purpose was to help facilitate an international wedding, and they failed miserably. This was a nightmare I wish I never had to endure.
DO NOT trust this company with your wedding!

I was happy and satisfied with destination wedding, specifically Samantha Russom. I had helps very detail and hospitality. Sam patiently introduced to us multiple resorts with details, prices, and pro-cons via email, phone calls before we made our decision. The support was not done after we signed the contract, she kept following with us during the communication with off-site and on-site coordinator to make sure the plan went smooth and on time. All my guests were very happy with her helps with changing date, extra requests about room. And lastly, destination wedding also gave us different discounts from booking rooms, prices with wedding packages, and gave us back some extra discounts money because we didn't use the options like upgrading room, location fee, or private events.
I highly recommend Destination Wedding and Samantha when you think about making destination wedding for your big day.

We had the pleasure of working with Karen for our destination wedding, and she was absolutely amazing! Managing a group of nearly 100 people could’ve been overwhelming, but Karen made everything seem effortless. She kept us all on schedule and ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish, all while maintaining a positive attitude and a smile.

Melissa was so helpful in planning our honeymoon. We had lots of questions and we were very unsure on what we wanted. We changed our minds a few times. Melissa was so helpful. She sent us so many options and had all the answers to our questions. She knew this stuff and it made it so much easier. And she nailed it with our trip.
