Passport office denied my deed poll…
Passport office denied my deed poll because it needed to state that I sign in my old signature and one in my new name which the replacement deed poll didn’t have, now have to pay for another one and possibly go elsewhere now.

As we discussed over the email, please note that the deed poll has two sections inside that need to be signed: the old name signature and the new name signature. The deed poll cannot be accepted if you do not sign it correctly.
Also, we would like to remind you that we guarantee that all public and private organisations will accept our Deed Poll, or your money back!
If there is an issue with the production of the deed poll or the Passport Office did not accept it because of that, please let us know. However, the applicant is responsible for signing the deed poll correctly.

Quick, neat but lost a star
I decided to give this company 4 stars for a few reasons, but I would have given 5 normally.
The service was quick, all the other reviews are pretty much spot on and it’s a lot cheaper and more reliable than other online deed poll sites.
I mainly knocked a star off because the whole point of changing my name is so that I’m not referred to as my previous name - so why oh why did the envelope turn up with my OLD NAME on it? Didn’t make sense to me, plus another reviewer said the paper it’s printed on is pretty much straight out of his printer, I have to agree, it’s standard paper and the seal is a sticker, also pretty basic. I could have printed this out myself and bought a few official looking stickers etc. and done it myself..
Anyway, the service was quick and straightforward, I purchased on Friday and it came the following Monday without having to pay excessive postage costs, so bonus, thank you. All in all, not bad, would just recommend that the seal is a bit less basic and that when someone changes their name, it would be polite and respectful of the company to actually address it to their NEW name not the old.

With regard to using your current name on the envelope, it is the common practice because your name will only be considered changed after you sign your deed poll 😉
The standard printing paper is 80 GSM. We use 100 GSM, which is considered to be legal-grade paper.
Finally, please note that a deed poll is a legal document, so the type of paper or sticker does not impact its effectiveness.

Really excellent customer service, and the deed polls (we paid for extra copies) were all on lovely certificate style paper, so they all look the same once you have got your signature witnessed. Perfect!
We have had the name change accepted by multiple agencies already: HMRC, UKVI and utility services.

I ordered 2 replacement deed polls as mine were lost in a house move. I was worried about ordering as I didn't quiet understand the process as I was a child when my name was originally changed. I must say this company makes it so simple and there so fast and efficient. My deeds were posted recorded delivery and they were with me in 2 days.
