I have bought two “beautiful” Japanese steel knives from Cutting Edge Knives. They are as much a piece of art work as a kitchen knife. The steel holds a blade for much longer than your average Europe knife, and the design in the blade is mesmerising. I also love the way that in the box the knife is placed in they include a couple of blue plasters for when you inevitable cut yourself!
The only slight problem is that as the knives are made by skilled Japanese artisans and therefore not mass produced, many of the knives shown on the website are out of stock. But I do like the way that you can be notified when items are back in stock. To sum up, I’d say that although pricey, if you want a beautifully crafted knife made to last buy a knife from one of the knife makers who sell their knives via Cutting Edge Knives website

Just ordered my second knife of yourselves, it's a prepairing knife , my other is Masutani Homono V10 Tsuchime Santoku it's wonderful but needed a smaller knife for ease of use can't wait, great service and a affordability quality knife that will last many years thanks John.

Ordered a knife, order cancelled immediately due to price increase. Obviously drop shipping with no stock. No hint of apology in email, just that he wasn't going to sell anything at a loss. If done on a large scale he is basically getting free loans and putting people out of pocket until they are refunded.

As a returning customer I've had a good experience overall and appreciate their coupon offers. Occasional hiccups are eventually resolved, sometimes with a bit of nudging, but communication is excellent and reassuring. 5 stars once they go above and beyond (eg good-will gestures/extra discounts to compensate when issues arise)..

My partner and I have been into cooking for a long time, and finally decided to spend on something quality together.

I went onto reddit and heard this was a good place to order, so followed up and went onto their website. My experience cooking has only been with Western and cheap knives, so quite daunting once deciding to go Japanese; lot's of variety options and names you wouldn't recognise!

Their website was fantastic. Super helpful and did a great job of handholding me through my choices when I really needed it.

After ordering, I realised I ordered to the wrong address, so promptly sent a message to them via instagram (and email). Got a response within a day on Sunday. For a small family business, they have all the reasons in the world to not have great service. They immediately changed my shipping address and I received my knife within 2 days.

Nothing felt right about the transaction I had with this store slightly over a month ago. In digging deeper there is no clear address for the store, no reliable customer service, the payment methods are very strange and even though it uses paypal, how it is structured feels dodgy. Needless to say, I received a partial order because they didn't have 70% of my order in stock (despite saying they did) and the things I did receive are in poor condition - needless to say, if I can get a hold of someone at Cutting Edge Knives I'll be returning my goods and will NOT be a repeat customer.

Ordered on Tuesday evening, received the knife Thursday morning. Amazing quality products, fantastic customer service. Highly recommended

Bestilte 2 Blade Guards til andre knive. Desværre havde de ikke i træ til den kniv jeg havde købt. Alligevel skriver de en personlig hilsen og vedlægger en simpel Guard til den nye kniv.

Horrible returns or repairs policy. Literally this had one cut and broke on a fraction of pressure. Cheap poor manufacturing. When I asked if they could help they told me to get it fixed on my own accord.

If this is supposed to be a quality retailer you’d expect them to swallow their pride and take the hit for a customers expectations/ experience. Do yourself a favour and don’t buy from this business who don’t value customer satisfaction. Cheap Japanese blade with brittle metal.

I wasn’t even asking for a full refund. I’d have even taken a replacemen. Yet they didn’t want anything to do with me.

On another note the actual blade and handle feels cheap AF. I’d have happily bought more from them as they looked really good at first. Turns out they are small minded business people with no care for customers needs. Clearly you make bad blades and can’t handle returns. Suck it up and take the hit if you’ve made a bad product.

I ask you, if I moved into a home and the bricks started falling apart after I shut the door, whose fault is it. The building company. Sort your life out cutting edge.
