Lovingly converted from a former saddlery, this one-bedroom retreat combines countryside character with modern comfort, creating a peaceful space where guests can slow down, recharge and enjoy a relaxing escape from everyday life. Whether you're planning a romantic getaway, a solo retreat, or a break with your four-legged companion, The Saddlery Barn Retreat offers a welcoming home-from-home experience. Surrounded by beautiful walking routes, vineyards, charming villages and historic market towns, the retreat is perfectly positioned for exploring the Garden of England. Guests can enjoy countryside walks straight from the doorstep, visit local wineries, discover independent shops and cafés, or simply relax and watch the horses in the neighbouring paddocks. Perfect location for dog owning wine lovers!

A great location with all you could need in a beautifully appointed accommodation. If you have a dog, they are well catered for, which was lovely. The heath across the main road was totally unexpected and a perfect dog walking area.
We visited the white cliffs of Dover, Leeds Castle and Canterbury Cathedral over our three day visit.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It was great to hear that both you and your doggy enjoyed your stay and made the most of the nearby heathlands - its a real gem on our doorstep. Many guests are surprised by just how much open countryside there is all around.

It sounds as though you packed plenty into your three days, one of the things we love most about the barn is its location, offering a peaceful countryside base while still being within easy reach of some of Kent's best-loved attractions, vineyards and walking routes.

Outstanding…

Delightful and very well equipped accommodation, situated close to the A20 providing an excellent base for exploring. Everything we could have needed provided. A very comfortable conversion with top quality contents.

Fantastic stay over

Stayed at the cottage for two nights and had a really good time. The cottage inside is fantastic,well kept, lovely and clean and the view out the back is lovely.We had a walk around the local nature reserve just down the road and had a lovely meal in the local beef-eater on our last night.Kelly the owner was great . Lovely break away would definatly recommend it...

Absolutely beautiful!

We stayed here for just one night as a stopover before heading to France, but I truly wish I could have stayed longer! The place was absolutely beautiful—peaceful, well-designed, and full of charm. Everything was perfect, from the cozy atmosphere to the thoughtful details. I would love to return for a longer stay in the future!”

Excellent

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful holiday home—one of the best we have ever stayed at! The host was incredibly thoughtful and provided fantastic recommendations for local walks, which we thoroughly enjoyed—our dog, Gatsby, especially loved exploring the stunning scenery. One of the highlights of our trip was the vineyard tour at Westwell Wines, which was even more special as we were able to bring Gatsby along with us. It was a fantastic experience, made even better by their freshly produced pizza on their Friday pizza night. The combination of amazing wine, delicious food, and breathtaking views made for an unforgettable evening. The home itself was cozy, well-equipped, and a peaceful retreat for us all after our adventures. We had such a memorable time and can’t wait to visit again.

What a lovely place to stay

What a lovely place to stay. Kelly makes you so welcome. The barn conversion is lovely and done with care and comfort in mind. I and my dog (Hamish) spent 7 days there and had such a lovely time. The cottage is well equipped and maintained and there are fabulous dog walks around. Hikers and ramblers would love it too. There are also many places to visit and within easy reach of the cottage. Highly recommend.
