Gulls Roost Holiday Let, managed by Classic Cottages, was not fit to be let Contrary to what was stated in Classic Cottages response. The mould on the living room curtains and bathrooms had been there for some time. I believe Classic Cottages had to install new curtains because it was that bad. This was only after our complaint and after we had left. There was also the electrics which a switch was not sealed and broken and a hazard . The standard of the let was not up to the £2K weekly rental, cracks in the ceiling, uneven paving. Blood on the bedroom curtains, carpet was filthy, and the hoover smelled really bad when we tried to use it. Contrary to what Classic cottages stated about vinegar being used instead of carcinogenic Round up weed killer. Vinegar does not bubble when water is put on it - my daughter tried to protect our dog and his feet by putting water on the weed killer and it bubbled. Look it up for yourselves vinegar does not bubble when water is put on it. Also I never had any money refunded to me from Classic Cottages or the Owner. My Credit Card Company refunded me the full amount of the holiday, that's how bad the Credit Card Company thought the holiday was.Also since my complaint was concluded back in October 2025 with my credit card refunding me . I asked all our personal details are removed from Classic Cottages database and any other subsequent branches of the organisation under the GDPR Data Protection Act Laws 2018. Classic Cottages refused. Classic Cottages is now in breach of the Data Protection Act.General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the EU's strict 2018 privacy law governing personal data handling for residents. It mandates user rights (access, erasure, portability) and applies globally to any organization handling EU data. Core Rights: Individuals can request access, correction, deletion ("Right to be Forgotten"), and portability of their data.
Non-Compliance: Violations can result in significant fine.
I am waiting on The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) which the UK’s independent regulatory body responsible for upholding data protection, privacy rights, and freedom of information to look into the case.
I would not ever book a holiday with Classic Cottages or any of their partner organisation again. I would advise people to Do your homework not accept what is said on their websites, as you can be mislead.

We were sorry to hear of your disappointment, as we strive for guests to have the best experience possible and work very hard with property owners to rectify concerns immediately where possible so that guests can continue their stay with everything as it should be. We really do take any complaint seriously and are sorry that in this case, we didn’t act as quickly as we could have, though following a full inspection of the property, it was confirmed the property was fit and safe for letting, with some minor wear and tear typical of a busy season and staining to some curtains from condensation. We would again like to stress that the gardener only used a vinegar treatment on the weeds. We are sorry that our reassurances of this did not help you to feel able to use that area still, as we understand that this is an important area for guests, particularly if you have a pet with you. Whilst the owners were unable to agree with your requested reasons for a significant refund, we hoped that our gesture to refund any money that Classic Cottages would have earnt from this booking would help to show our genuine desire to do what we can to assist. Over the years I booked several cottages with this company. Their information and photos are usually very adequate and reliable so no surprises upon arrival. Furthermore I experienced several times that when there are issues that need to be addressed they respond quickly, friendly and with understanding (even in weekends or evenings) and do all they can to help and solve the problem. I really appreciate their service and this is my preferred booking agency

Booking through Classic Cottages was simple, the website informative, and the staff extremely knowledgeable about their properties, which made the whole experience seamless from start to finish.

From the moment we arrived, Chapel Cottage felt warm, cosy, and incredibly welcoming. The front view is absolutely breathtaking and truly memorable. The cottage was spotlessly clean, and the fixtures and fittings were beautiful and clearly very well cared for, just the standard we appreciate in our own home. Every detail had been thoughtfully arranged, making our stay effortless and completely enjoyable.

We have been using Classic Cottages for years and have always had excellent places to stay. The photos on the website and the descriptions are spot on and the quality of accommodation is fantastic.

Turned up for new year to a freezing cold cottage and with no wood or coal supplied for the burner.

We couldn't adjust the heating as it was being controlled by the owner over 200 miles away who for 18 hrs a day set the heating at 7 degrees.

It took repeated calls & texts to the local support and 24hr support numbers before 5 days later we got control of the heating.

In addition the description of the cottage (Penmorfa) couldn't have been further from accurate.

after returning home I complained to Classic cottages and was basically called a liar and was told there was fuel for the fire and the heating was sorted on the 3nd day.

We have just had our 4th consecutive Christmas and New Year break with Classic Cottages.
We have stayed in 3 different properties and every 1 of them was lovely. We had no complaints about any of them.
We are so happy with Classic Cottages properties that we have already booked one for Christmas 2026

The place we stayed was perfect exactly like the description on the website.

Towyn Cottage is beautifully presented and clearly cared for, with high-quality furnishings, tasteful accessories, and a kitchen which is exceptionally well equipped, by making it a comfortable and practical home from home. Location perfect for local hikes especially to Portgain and star gazing. A treat to be so close to the sea. Thanks for giving us a great Xmas and the sun was out every day!

Stayed at a property through Classic Cottages, which was chosen on the strength of reviews on their website, and their claim that they publish all guest reviews, good or bad. The stay was generally pleasant, but there were a few negative points, which I was surprised weren't mentioned in the reviews, or were glossed over.

After our stay, I wrote a detailed review, mostly positive, but providing more detail around the negative points that might put some people off. I'm certain that I didn't breach any of their guidelines (it wasn't rude, inaccurate, or anonymous). However two months after I submitted the review, they have yet to publish it. I can't be certain that it's because of the critical content in it, but that is my strong suspicion.

Sadly this means that I will be a lot less trusting of their property reviews in the future, and less inclined to book through them.

Classic Cottages deliver an outstanding holiday experience from start to finish. Their service is exceptional, efficient, friendly, and always responsive. Every detail of the booking process was handled smoothly, making the entire experience stress-free.

The cottages themselves are delightful: beautifully maintained, thoughtfully furnished, and set in stunning locations. It’s clear that Classic Cottages take great pride in the properties they represent and the experience they provide to guests.

We’ve been thoroughly impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again. Highly recommended.

Have used this company to book 2 holidays now and both have been superb houses in great locations and true to their descriptions. Good value and great communications.

Iva Cottage is perfectly located in Fowey, a couple of minutes walk to the highest quality eateries, pubs, a perfect bakery and the beach.

This 'home-from-home' address has a contemporary bright interior with all the modern facilities you need away from home.

Looking forward to our next visit in 2026.

The chosen cottage was lovely, no complaints about it.
To get to the cottage very narrow single track hedge lined roads were used. I left a pleasant review stating thus information would have been helpful up front as any wide vehicles may be scratched by the overgrown brambles etc.
This was to help other guests but Classic Cottages chose not to publish my review, even though their website and app claims them publish all reviews regardless of feedback. I would take all reviews with a pinch of salt as obviously cherry picked to sound good.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely apartment. The location was absolutely perfect — everything you could possibly need was right on the doorstep, from shops and restaurants to easy access to local attractions. One of the real highlights was the balcony; the views were truly breathtaking. It was such a pleasure to simply sit outside, relax, and watch the world go by.

The apartment itself was well-equipped, clean, and thoughtfully designed. However, I did have to rate the comfort slightly lower due to the mattress on the double bed in the bunk bed room. I usually sleep well anywhere and have never had issues with back pain, but unfortunately, this mattress seemed to be in need of an upgrade. I found myself waking frequently during the night and starting the day with back discomfort. Addressing this would really help make this already fantastic apartment flawless.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. With just a small improvement, this place would be perfect in every way.

My experience with Classic Cottages was great from the initial booking right through to my stay. The property was absolutely beautiful, clean and well equipped. There was a 24 hr number and a local housekeeper who answered my initial queries when I arrived. The beds were comfortable, and the overall care and customer experience was great. Would highly recommend.

Great apartment in a great location. Easy booking process. Excellent arrival/departure instructions. Ideal for couple, within easy walking distance of bars, restaurants, supermarkets, bus and rail services.

I stayed at Bridge Pool Cottage with a friend and we both loved it. It is a beautiful cottage with everything we needed. The cottage location is central, so it is very easy to explore Cornwall’s beautiful places, from coastal walks and hamlets to St. Michael’s Mount and it was always such a joy to return in the evening to the peace and beauty of the cottage. The wood burning fire added to the lovely cosiness and falling asleep at night to the sounds of owls calling was dreamy.

I really enjoyed my morning cup of tea in the wonderful conservatory, watching the beautiful birds, the serene countryside and the relaxing flowing river. I also enjoyed the beauty of watching the occasional early autumn leaf catching the light of the morning sun as it gently floated down to the river. It truly is a magical place.

The Camel Trail is close to the cottage which is suitable for walkers, cyclists and horse-riders. One morning we had a lovely leisurely stroll to the Snail’s Pace Cafe and I had the best full English vegetarian breakfast I had tasted, my friend also enjoyed a full English breakfast too. Walking on the trail in the evening we were delighted to see bats darting above our heads and later enjoyed looking up at the starry night sky free from the light pollution of the city.

Thank you to the owners Trevor and Kathryn, our stay at your cottage was one I will treasure, a wonderful treat for both of us. Had we had another week, we would have been very happy to spend the rest of our holiday relaxing and enjoying the cottage.
