⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointing Experience and Complete Lack of Support

Our experience with CityRise has been extremely disappointing.

We invested our life savings, including my pension, into the purchase of two apartments at Queens Court through CityRise. We placed our trust in CityRise as the sales agent and relied on their advice throughout the transaction. We also used the buyer's solicitors and mortgage adviser who were introduced and recommended to us by CityRise, believing this would help ensure the purchases progressed smoothly.

During the purchase process, the properties were independently valued below the agreed purchase price on two separate occasions. Naturally, we were concerned and questioned whether we should continue. Despite these warning signs, CityRise advised us to proceed, reassuring us that they "had our back" and that they would support us throughout the process. Those assurances gave us the confidence to continue with the purchases.

Unfortunately, when serious issues later arose, including the developer terminating the contracts and seeking to forfeit our deposits, the support we had been promised simply disappeared.

We wrote directly to the Managing Directors on 12 June 2026 asking for assistance and clarification. Despite the seriousness of the situation and the significant financial implications for us, our email was never acknowledged or responded to. As customers facing the potential loss of money that included my pension savings, this level of silence is both unacceptable and deeply distressing.

To make matters worse, we later became aware of statements suggesting that we had received several notices to complete. This does not reflect our experience. We had no direct communication with the developer at any stage of the transaction. All communications were handled through CityRise and the solicitors acting in the transaction.

As the company that introduced us to the development, recommended the professionals acting on our behalf, and repeatedly reassured us during the purchase process, we expected CityRise to provide support and guidance when difficulties arose. Instead, we experienced a complete lack of communication, no meaningful assistance, and no indication of where they stood regarding the developer's actions.

This has not only placed us under enormous financial pressure but has also caused considerable stress and anxiety. Good customer service is measured not only when everything goes smoothly but also when problems arise. In our experience, CityRise failed us when we needed them most.

I hope CityRise reflects on how it supports customers facing significant financial loss, improves its communication, and stands by the assurances it gives during the sales process. I also hope prospective buyers carefully consider the level of after-sales support they may receive if a transaction does not go according to plan.

Fran was amazing with helping me organize everything to move in, and being positive along the way. She provided excellent customer service and replied to emails almost instantly speeding up the process.

I have had a good experience so far dealing with Sophie, the investment consultant. Taking the time to answer questions and meeting in person to show me the property. Look forward to completion and working with the rest of the team to progress with this investment.
