The team at Cheshire Plants have helped me so much! I had 20x 150-180 rootball delivered, next day, all were in excellent condition and packaged very well.
They gave me advice on how to plant and how to look after them.

Great quality
I've just planted 20 cherry Laurel that this company delivered to a customer of mine, I can't believe the quality of these shrubs they have to be some of the best I've come across they were taller than ordered and pretty bushy I'd definitely recommend this company and will definitely be using myself

Bought 2 plants from them last spring
Bought 2 plants from them last spring. Planted and looked after them regularly throughout but the plants lost leaves in winter which never came back - the plants died without lasting a season. Not offering a replacement as is the case with all reputable garden centres. Avoid.

We’re sorry to hear that the two plants subsequently failed, however we feel some important context is missing from this review.
From your own description, the plants were purchased and planted in spring, remained alive throughout the growing season and then deteriorated during the following winter.
Unfortunately, the failure of a living plant many months after delivery does not demonstrate that it was unhealthy or defective when supplied. Once planted, its survival depends on numerous factors outside a retailer’s control, including planting method, soil conditions, drainage, watering, weather, exposure and ongoing aftercare.
This is precisely why no reputable garden centre or nursery can provide an unconditional replacement guarantee indefinitely after plants have been planted and established in a customer’s garden.
Had there been an issue with the condition of the plants when they arrived, we would of course have been happy to investigate it at the time.
We’re genuinely disappointed that the plants did not survive, but describing Cheshire Plants as a company to “avoid” because we would not replace plants that failed after many months in the ground does not fairly reflect either the circumstances or the service provided.
Matt and his team are Amazing!
Matt and his team are very welcoming and knowledgeable. I drove 2 hours to see the quality and construction of the Pergola in person. I had been to see others, but all appeared flimsy or I could tell the construction was poorly designed e.g the way the Louvred roof opened/closed. This Pergola from Cheshire Plants was not comparable to the others. Solid aluminium construction throughout, exceptionally sturdy and built to last. I did think initially there must have been a catch (which is why I turned up in person) but no catch, just a great Pergola at a price point which was quite unbelievable. The build in led lighting adds a touch of class, my favourite being the warm white option. I also ended up purchasing an all aluminium construction patio set as I was fed up of my other patio sets rusting. To finish, I also purchased a fire pit table for those nippy nights. I built everything myself with the help of a friend, instructions for the Pergola was the best I’d seen, very clear and easy to follow, all parts were labelled making identification easy. All in all, Matt and his team smashed it out of the ballpark with prices that could not be beat (trust me, I looked everywhere to find like for like cheaper). Super Happy customer!

Disappointed with the size
The plant is healthy but disappointed with the size of the plant, its at least 1/3 smaller than what I saw in their product page

Thank you for confirming that the plant arrived healthy.
We would, however, like to clarify the point regarding size. Our plants are sold according to the size specification stated on the product page, rather than by attempting to exactly replicate the individual plant shown in a representative photograph.
Plants are natural, living products and inevitably vary in width, shape, density and growth habit from one specimen to another. A photograph therefore cannot reasonably represent the exact dimensions and appearance of every individual plant supplied.
Provided a plant falls within the advertised size specification, it has been supplied as described.
We’re pleased to hear that your plant arrived healthy and, with the correct planting and aftercare, it will of course continue to establish and develop.

Impeccable Chesire plants
I received 28 XL Bushy laurels this afternoon. The photo on the website is exactly what i received if not i feel better. The heights of all 28 laurels are between 5/6ft as specified. Delivery was as promised between 8am-6pm, and I also live in a lane with tricky access. I was nearly put of by a review regarding the delivery's being bad but my driver was welcoming, helpful and a good laugh too even at 5pm on a friday. I will be shopping again with chesire plants very soon and my friends will be recommended them also.

This is a rather mixed review
This is a rather mixed review. No issue with the quality of the hedging plants I ordered.
Issues arose regarding the delivery. We called up after placing the order to make them aware that a very large lorry wouldn’t fit down our lane but could access the road servicing it. That we were near the end of the lane so we had no problem meeting the driver as we have done before to wheel the pallets to our driveway. They said this would not be an issue and were given a phone number separate from one on the order for the driver to ring if there were any issues.
We were also not informed of the delivery date as they said they would do on the order information. So we’re not expecting a delivery on that day.
The driver wasn’t given the number specific to the delivery or any other instructions. I then had to ring the driver after my partner rang me telling me they were not gonna deliver if I didn’t ring them quickly. On speaking to the driver he told me he couldn’t access the road to my Lane because he had an 18 ton lorry. We have had 18 ton lorries deliver here before, no issues and the drivers were always very helpful.
This driver passive aggressively informed me that he was going to put it down as a ‘non-delivery’ and returning the items. So I had to suggest meeting him on the side of the road a mile away and when I met him, he did not lower the tail gate to the floor, I informed him I had a prolapsed disc and could he give me a hand and he just grinned at me while looking down on me watching me struggling with three very heavy hedging plants while dragging them through the back of a hatchback vehicle. I think anyone in my situation wouldn’t be happy about this.
Understandably, I rung up Cheshire plants and I was informed a manager would call me back and then two days later I’scheard nothing and then naturally gonna ring up the second time as a customer I am going to be frustrated, I was however polite and not rude or abusive.
When I finally got passed on to a manager, he instantly told me he didn’t like my tone, literally a sentence into the call while I was trying to explain the situation, and try to nullify my complaint, because he didn’t like my tone apparently, I’ve had no issue with this before when I’ve had to deal with companies in regards to making a complaint. When dealing in Customer Services you are going to deal with customers who when they’ve not received the service they require are going to be frustrated. So I’m not only did I had to deal with a passive aggressive delivery driver I also had to deal with a passive aggressive manager at the Company concerned. I suggest this individual needs some specific customer service training.

Having read through your experience, there are parts of this that we simply could have handled better.
The delivery clearly did not go as either you or we would have expected. The additional contact number and delivery information you provided should have reached the driver, and we completely understand your frustration at having to meet the vehicle elsewhere and then struggle with three heavy plants yourself. We will be raising that experience with our delivery partner.
More importantly, having been told that a manager would call you back, you should not have needed to chase us again two days later. We apologise for that.
When you eventually spoke with a manager, the conversation clearly became frustrating on both sides. While we will always expect conversations with our team to remain respectful, we also recognise that by that stage you had good reason to be frustrated and we could have handled that conversation better.
We appreciate you acknowledging that the plants themselves were good quality, and we’re genuinely sorry that the delivery and subsequent communication overshadowed what should have been a straightforward purchase.
Your comments are fair feedback and there are lessons for us in this one.

Just the job....
I stumbled across this company whilst looking for a solution to renew a part of a boundary hedge. I wanted an instant result, but thought it would be too costly. Cheshire Plants had a sale on so I was able to fill the gap with decent sized plants. The ordering was easy, price good and the delivery company a delight to deal with. The order came when promised and the very next morning, I've got them in and the gap is no more! Very Pleased I found this company.
