Chameleonbride Arvostelua 

Not much on offer in Dorset so this place seems to be a go to for everyone and is award winning.
We were basically laughed out of the store. Received haughty responses to our queries, and repetitive information even though we indicated we clearly understood their info on ordering process. We said we were struggling to find a dress (our dressmaker turned out to be a big talker short on delivery so three months before the date we had to shop for a dress) Advised us to go next door to The Bridal Outlet off the rack. We received even worse service there a few days later, comments on not having being fit, very handsy assistant, more so than just helping into the dress and prefers to services only ‘young’ brides.
Were shown two very similar dresses in mountains of polyester fabric not at all what we said we were looking for and were then shown the door, literally pushed out and told they had “a bride coming for a fitting” as if we didn’t have a bride in our group. Other brides (who found their dress here) give five stars, but make sure you don’t go alone, have someone that can take charge of the service staff and are fit, and young.
We are hopelessly lost, as this is first time ever having any kind of bridal shopping experience, so perhaps we come across as ignorant of the process, but there was no reason for staff to laugh at us and make rude comments. Wedding dress situation is supposed to be fun, this was far from that, and very off-putting of going to bridal shops.

I went to their Bridal Outlet as the website stated they welcomed walkins. Which I discovered they really do not.
It’s a really small place, only room for one bridal fitting and absolutely nothing else. (seriously only room for one in the whole store, in full view of the street, and they only have 3 appointments on the days they are open). Even though I stood in the doorway, I was at first politely greeted and then treated like I’m an ignorant fool, condescending tone from the sales staff. The sales manager even put her hand on me and literally pushed me out the door, telling me to go to their parent store, Chameleon next door. I understand they are used to get girls in and out of dresses, but really since Covid, we all know not to be touching eachother. There’s no excuse.
I received similar treatment from the owner in Chameleon, knowing full well the parent store is a 6 month wait on your dress. The reason I went to their outlet was I no longer have 6 months before my wedding. No need to be condescended to when I already knew the lay of the land.
There’s nothing more offputting than having someone greet you all friendly with smiles, and then treat you like you are an idiot for asking after what one can expect or what they have on offer other than what’s on their website.
I thought I had a sizeable budget, top end of what all the websites keep quoting but continual appointment charges for nothing much in return is just making me not want to spend any money on a one time use dress.

To be honest - for all the snobbery at these stores, they don’t even have fabulous designers on their books.

Also at £35 an appointment, I’m tired of wasting money on appointments only to be disappointed at not finding a dress, so I am really glad I didn’t pay these people any money. I am learning in my experience with this the wedding industry is a scam where stores just make money on fitting you in two dresses and if you don’t like them, you are shown the door.
Locals rave about this place, but take it from a foreigner - the service here is sorely lacking.
