we had a terrible experience with Cobra - the only action they ever took on our behalf was to take our money! No effort whatsoever was made to collect our debt and all the promises made before their huge fee was paid came to nothing. We had to continually chase for updates and when they finally came they were just excuses over and over for why no actions had been taken. We understand that there are no guarantees with debt collection but they promised so much and gave nothing - they should have at least tried. Avoid these scam artists - don't listen to their lies

I already posted one bad review against them but I have taken it down as they promised me to reopen the case, however these were just empty promises to get the bad review down. I really have no words on how these people operate. I have been scammed by a cowboy builder for well over £15000 and payed them to chase the debt down but they turned out to brake almost every promise so I am reposting my original review, please see below.

⚠️ Extremely Disappointing Experience – Avoid Cobra Financial Solutions

It’s taken me a long time to write this review because I’ve been struggling financially and mentally after being scammed by a builder for over £15,000 — and then deceived again by Cobra Financial Solutions. But it’s finally time to share my experience.

My first contact was Steve, to whom I explained the situation clearly: that the builder was evasive, constantly changing addresses, and claiming to have no money. Steve confidently assured me that they already knew where the builder lived, that he did have money, and that they had successfully dealt with similar cases before. He promised that their team would be at his door every week until repayment started. He even emphasized that they don’t waste time with calls, texts, or letters — they focus on face-to-face contact.
That was all completely untrue.

Another false promise was the so-called “24/7 online portal.” In reality, it only showed weekly updates, many of which were empty or contained nothing more than a single message or vague note about a “blind call.”

The next person I dealt with was Mark, who was extremely rude and unprofessional. He ignored most of my messages and, when I politely asked for a reply, he snapped back with comments like “I’m a busy man, I’ll respond when I can — don’t spam me.” Definitely not the way to treat a paying client.

The only positive mention goes to Kelly, who was professional, kind, and genuinely tried to do her job. She was the only one who seemed to care or take any real action.

They pressured me into paying over £1,300, claiming they had the builder’s address and would be at his door the next day. For weeks, I received no evidence of any visits. When I asked for proof that they even had the correct address, they couldn’t provide any. Later, I found the builder’s address myself and gave it to them — only then did they finally make a successful visit. Sadly, that was the only meaningful one.

When I asked for proof of their visits, they sent a few photos from one “no contact” attempt and then refused to send any more, saying they “couldn’t provide additional evidence.” Kelly did manage to speak to the builder twice, but that’s all the real progress that was ever made.

After just three months, they suddenly told me that my contract was ending — despite earlier promises to keep up pressure until I recovered my money. They extended the contract by two months as a “gesture of goodwill,” but in that time I received no updates and they clearly did nothing further.

In summary:
I paid £1,300 for empty promises, poor communication, and almost no real action. What I got was two visits (one actual, one no contact), two phone calls, and a few meaningless messages. They prey on people who are already in distress, making big promises and delivering next to nothing.

Avoid Cobra Financial Solutions at all costs.
They took advantage of someone who had already been robbed — and then did almost nothing to help.

I would not recommend this company based on my experience.
I instructed Cobra Financial Solutions to recover a debt from a former tenant and paid their fee upfront. Over the following 18 months, I repeatedly received assurances that progress was being made, yet I was provided with little evidence of any meaningful recovery activity.
For the last two months, I have simply asked for a written summary of the actions they have taken on my case, including any correspondence or recovery efforts. Despite multiple requests, they have failed to provide this information and have instead continued to make excuses.
As a paying customer, I believe it is reasonable to expect transparency and evidence of the work carried out. Unfortunately, my experience has been one of poor communication, lack of accountability, and disappointing customer service.
I would encourage anyone considering this company to carry out thorough due diligence before engaging their services.
