The online auction site was okay, but they should be fair and not put identical bottles on the same day, especially if one ends up at the bottom of the page. I noticed two identical bottles selling for €710 and €950.

There's another problem too. After the auction, they keep your money for a while. They say it usually takes two weeks, but I've been waiting for more than 6 weeks and still haven't got my money. When I called the first time, they said they'd talk to the accountant, but they never called back. The second time, they blamed the buyer's transaction and said they'd get back to me. As of 15-01-24 (Auction date 4-12-23), I'm still waiting.

Since the website upgrade, what was a great purchasing experience has been elevated. Jack is their champion but having said that, the staff in the base on Dawson street are super. A special shout out to Thomas who is the personification of professionalism. All in all, whether online or in person, CWS and their auction site should high on your list should you be looking to expand your collection.

Never heard of these guys before saw brief piece in Irish Times -my wife pointed out I had 2 bottles in case etc of Middleton very rare-no memory of where it came from -must have been gift -took bottles into shop -Jack Simpson away but very friendly guy took them from me advised on value and set reserve for auction - low and behold both sold and a fortnight after auction I have the money in my account

I would appreciate a notification that shipping was initiated, as well as a tracking number, though.

My first time to sell anything for auction, and Celtic auctioneers were more than helpful. Customer service is very important and Celtic auctioneers have it exactly right.

Their care and attention to detail is most reassuring. I have visited there office in Dawson St, several times this year leaving stock for their monthly auction. The team provided a sterling performance from auction end to payment simplicity and updated notifications. There is no ambiguity about the position of your win and its availability for collection or delivery. I am fortunate enough to live not too far away from the shop and so I always elect to collect each win. Always a great auction but it would be better if they had a list of the whiskey brands as apposed to just having irish,scotch bourbon etc.
