CDKEYMARKT sells Steam accounts which are clearly forbidden by Steam TOS and refuses refunds even when the misunderstanding is pointed out immediately and the product was never claimed or used.

Wanted to buy a Steam key like I’ve done many times before on reputable sites and never had an issue. It was my first time dealing with CDKEYMARKT and G2A. I didn’t realize until AFTER payment that this was not a key at all but a completely different Steam account.

Completely shocked because I’m very well aware you CANNOT buy/sell/transfer Steam accounts according to Steam Terms of Service. The second I saw the popup saying I would receive account credentials instead of a key, I immediately contacted support requesting a refund/cancellation. I never opened the account details or used the product in any way and contacted them in less than 20 minutes after purchase.

CDKEYMARKT refused to do anything and closed the ticket. They did not care that:

the account was never accessed,
the product was never used,
the misunderstanding was reported immediately.

What makes this even worse is that Steam clearly states that bought/sold accounts can be permanently locked at any time. So you are literally paying for something that can disappear at any moment if Steam notices the account transfer.

Part of Steam TOS:

“Steam accounts cannot be bought or sold. An account is for the personal use of its creator only.”

And:

“When Steam's support team notices an account has been sold, the account will be permanently locked whether or not it is currently in the possession of the buyer or seller.”

So not only are they refusing refunds for unused products, they are also selling something that clearly violates Steam TOS and puts buyers at risk of losing access at any time.

Worst experience I’ve had buying game keys online. Learned my lesson and will never buy from CDKEYMARKT or on the platform G2A ever again.

I bought this product thinking it was a Steam key, but after the purchase I realized that it was actually a Steam account. I did not log into the account or use the product in any way.

I contacted the seller and explained the situation politely. I also told them that I wanted to buy this game as a gift for my younger brother, who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). He has wanted this game for a long time, and I only wanted to make him happy by buying a key for his own account.

Unfortunately, instead of helping me with a refund, they only sent me generic/automated responses and kept telling me that the product was listed as an account. I understand that, but the product was purchased by mistake, it was not used, and I contacted them immediately.

I am very disappointed with this experience. A customer who made an honest mistake and did not use the product should be treated with more understanding, especially in a situation like this. I hope G2A or the seller can review this case properly and provide a fair solution.

I purchased a couple of gift key links for a game on steam to give to my friends, both of them were from CdKeyMarkt (a major retailer,) the first link brings me to the accept gift page on steam but the accept button is greyed out, the second link just brings up the steam error page. I have sent CdKeyMarkt a help/refund request 4 days ago and haven't gotten a reply back from them, so I thought G2A would help me so I sent them a support request ticket as well, its been 2 days and no word so far. G2A DOES NOT GUARANTEE MONEY BACK AND WRITE THEY ARE NOT RESPONSABLE FOR FAULTY KEYS! their ai support bot is misinformative and a gatekeeper for receiving help, the bot is the only way you can send a support ticket in as well since they don't offer a manual way to send a ticket in on their support page, the bot kept on giving me links to 404 error pages when I asked for a link to take me to the support ticket page otherwise he sent me links to their Q&A page. At the bottom of their websites home/store page they say "G2A.COM employs a wide array of AI-powered security measures, coupled with human screening by highly trained anti-fraud experts. While sellers are more than happy to help whenever there's an issue that needs resolving, you can contact us if there are any problems with that."

Buy your keys off a website that has ACTUAL 24/7 human support, offer moneyback guaranteed, and don't upcharge you on non-preferred payment methods. I will never use their services again. You have been warned!

They have a 9.79 rating on Eneba but the cards I bought were already used.

Scam scam scam he sent me an email with the cyberpunk code and he took back that email and change the passcode so he could resell to others

I purchased a Black Ops 7 account twice by mistake, although I only needed one.

The reason: during the first purchase via Apple Pay, the payment showed as “denied”, so I tried again. The second payment went through — but in the end I was charged twice and received two accounts.

I am only using one account.
The second account was never activated or used. According to their own policy, unused accounts should be refundable.

Since then, I’ve been chasing customer support for months.
Instead of addressing my actual request for a refund, I only receive copy-paste responses explaining what an account purchase is — which has nothing to do with my question.

I clearly stated multiple times that I want a refund for the second, unused account, but support completely ignores this and sends generic replies with no solution.

This is very frustrating and feels unprofessional.
If refunds are advertised, they should also be honored — especially when the account was never activated.

I cannot recommend this seller due to poor customer support and lack of proper communication.

They selling keys on multiple websites and seems like almost never to respond. While their keys did work most of times, when doesn't work, they seem to don't care and you lose your money.

Absolute scam. Sends you to a website where anti virus blocks it for safety reasons. Their support absolutely does not care about customers and will not answer your concerns or do any refunds no matter. Save your money and stay away.

I purchased Battlefield 6 through G2A from this seller and expected a normal game key. Only after paying I found out it was a third party Steam account. Using such accounts can violate Steam’s Terms of Service, so I never logged in and immediately asked for a refund. The seller refused any help, just repeated that the description was “correct” and took no responsibility for selling something many customers cannot safely use. Very unprofessional and not customer oriented. I will not buy from this seller again and recommend others stay away.

Bought an digital item on g2a as Steam account - instantly asked for refund because I dont need an account and game is not supported with my PC specs. I did not redeemed the code wanted to get it back in same shape. Waiting for response week, and still not answered or refunded...

They will refuse to provide a refund even if you request one immediately without accessing any of the account credentials.

Disgusting scam company, even when I mentioned I haven't seen the username or password for an account I bought, they would not refund, what a disgrace, they have 0 morals, do not buy from them on G2A
