The panel was very knowledgeable and provided worthwhile information. However, CARP continues to overlook the significant percentage of seniors who live alone. We shoulder higher costs, with living expenses covered by a single income, and yet we pay more than our fair share of taxes. It’s time to recognize this reality and provide tax breaks that at least put single seniors on par with couples.

Inappropriate investment at my age.
I had actually experienced some of the situations described..trying to sell inappropriate investments to Seniors(84) I knew the product was not right for me. My son actually didn't feel the bank was doing it intentionally. I had experienced the same situation with my father-in his eighties-asking for the best GIC rate. He was advised to take out a reverse mtge "then you won't have to worry about the interest rate". He didn't need any more money - he just wanted the best rate on his GIC (in the 1990s - he was about 85)

It was relevant to my needs and interests.

The timeliness of the information given by the panel. As seniors, we need to be aware of and be reminded about the dangers/scams that target us as a group. CARP has taken on this responsibility, rightfully so, because of its access to this demographic. The timing of the information provided by the panel is crucial. As seniors, it’s important for us to be aware of and reminded about the dangers and scams that specifically target our demographic. CARP has rightly taken on this responsibility due to its access to this group.

Valuable information in easy to understand language.

The clarity of the financial issues facing seniors today. Especially the messages referring to fraud and what we can do about it.

It was quite informative, timely and relevant for me at the current stage of my life.

Great questions by Anthony and felt the panelists tried to be as honest as possible. Will rewatch it particularly the last half and will recommend to others to catch on You tube. Also had a few items I will follow up on.

It was nice to be able to pull that up on TV (youtube). I appreciated hearing from the experts on money management.

Disappointed with the line up of participants. If, focus on advisors, then FP Canada Canada and perhaps a fee for service planner should have been present. Also didn't appreciate so many negative comments about the banks and being positioned after scamming segment. Who are seniors suppose to trust?

While the brunch box was nice, free parking appreciated, and panel discussion interesting, relevant and timely, the atmosphere was not as welcoming as I would have expected.
Audience members were treated more like "props" than valued members of CARP. Due to the lack of audience engagement, the panel discussion was too long. More time for Q & A would have helped.
At most events like this, attendees are invited to stay on after the formal portion and engage with panelists and organizers. I stayed for a few minutes, but neither the panelists or organizers were friendly so I just went home like everyone else.

My interest was in the investment questions and all about the fees that are attached to certain investments on RIF's.

I think it was over my head and would be better suited for executives or those dealing with more money than I have. I believe I’m a good steward of what I have, and seek to know about my finances so that I can use them wisely.

The topic was very meaningful and wish I was few years younger to take some of the opportunities.

The session would be more informative if there were more action items and immediate note takings for seniors.
For example: when talking about scams, it would have been helpful to flash on the screen and read it aloud the phone number of fraud centres or where to call if you feel you were being scammed.

Another example: the link or name of the videos that was being referenced by the financial influencers.
We seniors still like to see things in writing.

Sometimes the conversation became more about regulations and podcast advisors and felt the senior cause was forgotten.

Overall, Anthony did a great job in bringing senior issues to focus.

I was hoping to hear something useful/positive in regards to the topics discussed. However, it felt more like a "story telling" by all.

I enjoyed the guest lineup and content of discussion.
Being in the Financial Planning industry the variety and topics were very good and enlighten.
It was a very good two hours well spent.

Informative.
Did not understand all of the terminology, but mostly helpful.
Very surprised at the info on bank investments advisors.

I signed up but nothing happened when I tried to connect. Therefore, I missed the whole presentation. Filled out the required information on the page, but after trying to go forward, I couldn't get connect to the presentation. Disappointing.

Liked the interaction, and the information provided. Would have helped to see everybody's name on screen more as they spoke.
Some visuals, printed names of references made to websites, recommended reading, charts, graphs, etc would add to the presentation/discussion.
