It was simple and effective. I went on carinspect website and booked the PPI in a minute and there was a mechanic already available for the next day. Quinn, the mechanic, came over and did the inpsrction and confirmed the car was in great shape, just noting maybe brake pads would need to be replaced soon. Quinn called me right after his inspection to share his findings and confirmed the car was a good buy.
I went ahead with he purchase and the car has been smooth so far. Definitely recommend carinspect service!
On top of all that, they offer a free 3-mo warranty, which covers the basics of powertrain.

Will give zero if possible. Worse experience ever! Canadians do not use their PPI. I'll share my experience with their bad scheduling, unavailable customer support and ability to ignore the asks.

I booked the inspection on around Monday midnight, hoping next day Tuesday someone will perform the PPI, even called their support at 9:00 am in the morning informing if they can put on urgency . Support mentioned they will let the inspector know. Typically car inspection is done within 24 hours of assignment. At 11:00 AM inspector gets assigned. 7 hours pass by "NO COMMUNICATION" , neither to me nor to the dealership. When salesperson informed me, no one contacted, tried calling support and guess what support office is closed. Left a email, Left a voicemail that assigned inspector is no where to be found. Asked for refund due to their scheduling and logistic reasons. Even asked for escalation.

Wednesday in the morning I hear back on the email that inspection is completed within 48 hours from assignment (24 hours became 48 hours) and that Car inspector left a voicemail to the salesperson. Support mentions they'll be monitoring the situation. I left a msg to salesperson to followup. Salesperson confirmed the car inspector never contacted him and has only left the voicemail this morning. On top of it, the car inspector tells the salesperson he is too busy and he doesn't has availability to come any other time today nor tomorrow. Even though I told the support to inform car inspector that dealership closes at 7pm. This car inspector books it for 5:00 pm in the evening to do the inspection in dark .



At 5:00 PM this assigned inspector again changes the appointment (with everyone waiting at dealership already) I again tried calling and leaving the voicemail at support line. Guess what, no one picks as support is closed. The time he changes now is Thursday to 4:50 pm and 7:50 pm The dealership closes at 7:00 pm. At this point, the window is hitting the 72 hours. They turned a urgency and their fake promise of 48 hours into a week long project.

This Company support is bad, didn't escalate the request, Car inspector never did the communication, no one cared about the urgency, On top of it, when I asked for refund before they scheduled the appointment as it won't meet their 48 hour promise it just got ignored.

Sebastien, my inspector, was timely and communicative through my whole experience. The report came fast after the inspection, he also called and answered some questions I had. Great experience and he was a great inspector!

Communication with CarInspect was impecable. I asked for their Services from Vaudreuil-Dorion, with the seller of the car being in Longueuil. They communicated very well with the seller and planned everything in advance. The inspection was very detail oriented, and every issue of the car identified. The report included very insightful remarks. I bought the vehicle after having the confidence in the state of the car. I would recommend CarInspect to anyone buying a car, especially from a private seller.

I booked a CarInspect pre-purchase inspection based on the way the service is described on their website (mechanical, functional, and visual inspection, including a road test). In practice, the inspection was largely visual and lasted under an hour. The “road test” consisted only of minimal movement in the parking lot, with no driving at speed or on public roads. While the fine print later explains various limitations, the overall marketing creates expectations of a more thorough evaluation than what actually takes place. The inspector was polite and the report was delivered, but I would strongly recommend that buyers understand that this is a limited visual assessment rather than a traditional mechanical inspection. Not really worth it.

Trouvez vous un garage de confiance pour l'inspection qui passera la voiture sur un lift et regardera vraiment en détail.

Loic D avait pris rendez vous avec le vendeur un vendredi après midi et a repoussé l'inspection en fin de journée.

Le rapport est clair avec suffisamment de photos.
Aucune remarque alarmante.
Dans la rapport tout est correct avec des marques vertes sauf une baguette sur la portière de coffre.

Le jour de la prise de possession, les surprises:
- je me rends compte qu'il y a de l'eau dans le coffre suite à la pluie de la veille.
Le joint de contour de porte n'était pas entièrement en place et pouvait donc laisser passer de l'eau. Simple a remettre en place, mais non détecté lors de l'inspection
- le feu arrière gauche a un problème de lentille qui se décolle et la pluie rentre dedans. C'est tout de même 400$ à remplacer. ( voir vidéo )
- les étriers de frein avant sont rouillés, et les disques avant et arrière sont piqués par la rouille. Apparement ils sont à changer et c'est un 1000$ de plus au bas mot.
- Le liquide de refroidissement est en dessous du minimum dans le reservoir.

Je me dis que si l'inspecteur a laissé passer cela qu'en est-il du reste et combien ça va me couter ?

The mechanic came and inspected the car last year, and I ended up spending a couple of thousand on car repairs. Wouldn't recommend this

Not only did these geniuses miss multiple items that I am frankly stunned by, but when I pointed it out and asked them to make it right, they offered a bribe of half of the fee I paid them in exchange for me not talking about how incompetent they are online.

If you're looking for an inspection team that knows what they're doing, go with anybody else. Literally someone off the street would be better.

And to the person who will inevitably read and respond to this - I'm so glad you got your dream job.

This company is a fraud; as explained in other reviews, they advertise pre-purchase car inspections but don't tell you that the inspection has no legal effect; as required to transfer ownership here in Ontario, Canada. Nor do they tell you that they don't give refunds, but they do demand cash up front.
After being conned out of $200 by these thugs, i had to immediately book another, legal, pre-purchase auto inspection at Canadian Tire for $200 in order to purchase my car. Don't get cheated by these con artists like i did.

Be carefull from this company in Montreal. The agent explains in the phone that inspection is completed with full report. The web site asks you to pay in advance. Then the technicien calls you to come make inspection and will explain you it's just a visual inspection without any machine after paying your money. When asking for your money back they refuse any refund without giving you any services

I'm just going to share my personal experience here. I live in the province of Saskatchewan and wanted to buy a car from Manitoba. I contacted the Inspect service to send someone to check the car for me.

The car was inspected, and I was told that the exhaust muffler was damaged and the body had three repainted areas.
I spoke with the inspector and asked if there was any rust underneath the car. They said there was, but it was normal and not a concern.

It’s now been three weeks since I bought the car, but I still haven’t been able to get a safety certificate.
The rear hatch window lift is broken and doesn’t work.
The power steering pump is leaking oil, and when we opened it up, we discovered everything inside was shattered.
The rust underneath the car is extremely severe and had been covered with paint, but a specialist can easily spot it.
The brake backing plate on the driver’s side is missing.
The brake and engine warning lights on the dashboard kept turning on and off. After about two weeks of working on it, we found out the car's computer and wiring had serious issues, and I had to replace all the wiring.
The front suspension needs to be completely replaced—the steering was totally unstable.
And there are many smaller problems that I think would just be tedious to mention here.

Hi, I has a very bad experience with this group Car Inspect. Address mentioned was 4388 St-Denis Montreal. I was looking to purchase another vehicle and had another inspector going to do the inspection. He had to cancel. I was doing a request with this group and the car dealer called to advise the car was not available. I tried to cancel the possible inspection with CarInspect and they refused to cancel the credit card transaction ( within 10 minutes of doing the transaction) I have a problem with this type of ethics from a group. I will be doing my best to advise everyone and also chargeback my credit card. Does not seem to be an ethical group to deal with for car inspections in and around Montreal, Quebec. There are other more reputable groups and one recommended by the APA ( automobile protection association) Check before you do any credit card transaction with this group.

My inspector, Ahmed, was incredibly friendly and helpful. He went above and beyond, even calling me to point out important details and keeping me informed throughout the process. Since I’m from abroad, he made sure to ask if there were specific areas I wanted him to inspect more closely. A truly dedicated and professional inspector whom I can highly recommend to any potential customer.

Une inspection faite a la hâte car le but c'est de faire le max d'inspections possible et gagner plus d'argent ce qui a pour conséquence une mauvaise inspection et certains problèmes cachés qui ne sont pas décelés.
En plus, leur garanti ne sert pratiquement a rien. C'est une anarque, ils ne vont jamais vous rembourser car tout est prévu dans leur contrat pour éviter de rembourser les clients. Des clauses bidons et cachées, je vous conseille de prendre une heure pour lire ce contrat au complet mais je vous averti que ca ne sert a rien ce contrat.

Pour mon histoire, j'ai contacté kiwiz pour faire l'inspection d'un véhicule que je voulais acheter. L'agent a fait l'inspection a l'air libre en 30 minutes car il se plaignait du froid de l'hiver et que le vendeur lui mettait la pression de vouloir fermer. Il a déceler deux codes mais m'a dit que ce n'est pas grave ca arrive tout le temps. Peut être il n'a pas laissé tourner le moteur longtemps pour que l'huile monte bien ou que le mécanicien n'a pas effacé les codes.

J'ai pris le véhicule qui roulait malgré un petit bruit que je ressentais dans le moteur. Un mois après, je décide de faire un long voyage Montréal - Québec le pire arrive sur l'autoroute 20 a mi-chemin. Le moteur lâche dans la nuit et le froid de l'hiver, que faire ? J'ai du appeler la sécurité routière et fait remorquer mon véhicule a deux reprises plus des frais de diagnostics chez canadian tire. J'ai du aller dormir dans un hôtel de la ville la plus proche et dépenser au total entre remorquage, frais de diagnostics et hôtel plus de 700$. Au final le moteur de mon véhicule devait être changé, dépenses supplémentaires.
La pire expérience de ma vie.

NB: Petit conseil, faire toujours un voyage longue distance pour mieux tester votre véhicule même si l'inspection s'avère concluante car vous aller mettre le moteur a l'épreuve et déceler de nombreux problèmes
