As of today, I will not be using CareerBuilder. It is full of scammers. The most recent change I made to my resume for the CareerBuilder was at the top a *Note*.
Don't text me and I don't do messaging interviews. I continue to get texts. On the last from someone who said they were with Johnson and Johnson. I told her to email me.

Just like other scammers, I get an email with all of the different positions available. Despite the fact, I'm looking for a sales position. The email return address wasn't J&J but a Gmail account.

The Positions available are: Data Entry, Clerical Admin, Administrative Assistant, Medical Billing/Coding, Customer Service, Accounting, Payroll Clerk, Typist Clerk,Management. Which Position do you prefer?

Thanks, Sandra. Send me an email from Johnson & Johnson email address. Otherwise, I assume this is a scam.

I didn't get another email "Scam"

I also saw where CareerBuilder attempted to become a publicly-traded company in 1999. But Wall Street saw through its attempt to fool the public.

I try to give this website no stars, I have been overwhelmed with the fraudulent emails that comes in and now I’m receiving this odd texts stating to download Skype for an interview. This is my second request to do so. This is unbelievable

Very bad company, will share your information, STAY AWAY! got a lot of scam calls after posting my resume on their website! customer service is poor, there is nothing positive about this company !

I had contacted a person by name Mr.John Johal, he was very pathetic, i was asking information about there services, he was only interested to sell there product, he was not professional, very pathetic service

Bad company! I would not recommend CareerBuilder. The employer portal is not user-friendly, no communication from the account manager and the sales associate was a liar! spend your money wisely on a different recruiting platform! not worth the headache!

HORRIBLE layout and irrelevant jobs. Little window in bottom left of screen to see jobs. REALLY? What imbecile thought this was a good design???? They have gone downhill with every un-needed design the last 5 years, just like monster.

Since using Careerbuilder in Jan 2022, I get TONS of porn spam, and repetitive scammers that go the distance texting me with legit conversation. Today's 2/7/22 was a company named Homestead Reception Center in Tullula, IL. They wanted me on Skype for an INSTANT MESSAGE interview which seemed odd to me - No face-to-face. I went along with it, and they asked me about 18 pretty legit questions. Once finished she had to "verify it with the Head Department" which seemed odd to me because what's the "Head Department?" I waited the 7-10 mins for her to return, and she said I was perfect. Her next msg asked my full name, address, email & direct cell #. During my 18 questions she asked for my cell phone company which I did provide. She wanted to get me "registered in the database" with the last 4 questions. I didn't answer those, and instead wrote: OK, but will there be a standard face-to-face interview? She wrote: Not really... They have a 1 page website & while answering questions I looked for them on BBB but found nothing. I also called the number on the website: 217.502.0019 which had a homey husband & wife outgoing message. I blocked my number when calling, and the call was "DECLINED." (This company says they do events/weddings in IL & the only things clickable are email addresses.) I then wrote: I would like to ensure this is valid by having the standard interview if possible. At which point she never wrote again. I screenshot entire convo while waiting the 10 mins for the "Head Dept" to approve me even though never meeting me. ugh... I'm reporting to FTC & my local police station per online directions. Has anyone else heard of this scam, especially with this particular company Homestead Reception Center?

I have been overwhelmed with Scams from Career Builder while looking for employment. I need real employment and can't find a real legitimate job. Trinity Homes got my driver's license and Vox Finances asked me to set up an Etrade account and send them the Username and password. Why is Career Buider not doing more to stop this?

The first I heard about this was when a recruiter said they got my information from them. I've never signed up nor heard of them before this so I've no idea how they got my information. I've logged a complaint about this but have heard nothing back at all.

CareerBuilder will sell your information to a bunch of scammers, and you will receive mass amounts of spam emails forever. Do not use CareerBuilder.

Any review that's over one star is definitely reviewed by someone that gains something from partnering with this scam of a company. They sell your information when you sign up for their website and EVEN if you click "do not sell my information", they'll do it anyway. Now I am constantly receiving emails from other scammers and I always ask them how they came across my resume and none of them ever answer until today someone did... and she told me it was from career builder. Funny how that happened because I asked for both my data not to be sold as well as asked for my account to be deleted. Despite the account being deleted, it's very obvious my information was sold. There's no point in even blocking these email addresses because they're coming from all different "companies". Disgusting.

I made the mistake of thinking Career Builder was a credible site. It may have been at one time, but it certainly isn't now. The moment I signed up for an account, I began receiving an absorbed amount of spam emails with links to bogus job offers. This is a scam. The worst part was being suddenly inundated with nuisance text messages telling me I had won thousands of dollars in court cases, companies sending me big gift cards and so many other crazy things. It is no coincidence that this instantly began happening as soon as I signed up on this site. They allow anyone and everyone to post jobs that are absolute scams, but appear under the guise of a legit company. If you want to be a package mule, Career Builder is the place for you. No legitimate company will ask you to contact them through whatsapp, discord or google hangouts. This is a move by these overseas scammers and this is their method of communicating with you long distance. I have had my cell phone number for 25 years, but am leaning towards having to completely change my number. I'm so creeped out that so much of my personal information was made accessible to these trashy people. To make matters worse, I discovered Career Builder was taking it upon themselves to apply for jobs FOR ME!!! I discovered this when I was contacted by an Auto Parts company for a cashier job!! I was formerly a regional manager for a cosmetic company! What??!! I could go on about this horrendous site. I have gone through the steps to delete, but am STILL getting all kinds of crap via email and text. This is HORRIBLE!!! Where is the ZERO STARS option???

Do not provide information on CareerBuilder. Regardless of your profile you will get slammed with bogus and irrelevant opportunities that are mostly spam.

Just received a bunch more today telling me that my experience as a CEO would be a great fit for a bank teller opportunity. One of MANY similar suggestions.

Spam calls and text messages that never stop. The “recruiters” pretty much harass you into trying to reveal personal data and it is very uncomfortable. Most of the companies are not even real.

I get daily emails from scammers referencing my (now deleted for a year and a half) CareerBuilder account. CareerBuilder does not appropriately safeguard data you provide them and has refused to do anything after the fact. Their TSST team is worse than useless.

I receive a lot of recruiter emails that are basically spam. However, once in a while I ask them where they got my information, because I don’t have my info available anywhere right now.

Well, today I got one of those emails and just happened to ask where they got my information. The recruiter responded and said they got my information from CareerBuilder.com. This sounded odd to me because I didn't recall ever using that website, but I knew it was a big name brand. I double checked all my records and emails, and sure enough, I had never used CareerBuilder.com and did not have a username or password.

Since they are a big-name brand, I decided to navigate to their website and try the password reset function and sure enough, it worked. Alarmingly, there it was, plain as day, a CareerBuilder account with all of my employment history and a lot of personal details. Clearly, all the information had been scraped from other sources because there were a lot of errors and gaps in the data. Let me be clear, I did not create this account and the data was clearly scraped.

This is particularly alarming because not only was CareerBuilder unethically creating an account on my behalf, scraping my employment history, and selling my data to third parties, but they were also misrepresenting me in the marketplace. They took it upon themselves to take this disheveled amalgamation of scraped data, call it a "resume", and share it with potential employers and recruiters.
What CareerBuilder did is clearly fraud. They created an account without my consent and effectively impersonated me in the marketplace. This was scary and appalling.

I have reported this to the FTC and the CCPA. If they did this to you, or something similar, also report it to the FTC or CCPA. If this isn’t illegal, it should be.

The are either selling information or they are not checking that job listing are legit, most of the jobs listed are scams. I just joined Sunday and have gotten no fewer than 20 calls, emails and texts. Most for jobs offering 20+/hr and you interviewed and then are hired right after. I contacted the company to speak about hiring and they inform me if I didn't use their site they wouldn't trust it. They should have a responsibility to protect job seekers, and they clearly do not care. Save yourself the trouble and just don't look for jobs on here unless you absolutely have to. I wish i would've known, I would've never used this site.

I suggest, bypass this site and go directly to the Area, Place or Company in which you are seeking Employment.

They will access your computer by their “ cookies” and take all of your Information, just as “ Facebook “ did on its earlier beginning’s!

So I work for an insurance company who’s VP had us sign up for a “free 30days” to use Careerbuilder to hire. I did 2 30 minute zoom meetings and emailed them saying we would not be moving forward with account. Little did I know 6 months later I receive a bill for 9k. Now I’m collections. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. They ignore the little man.
