Dear Graeme Jardine,
I assumed the “Jonathon” you used for this review was simply an auto correct mistake. So, I hope you won’t mind us referring to you by the name you provided to our team when you called.
Our agents work with over 200 organisations, handling thousands of calls each day. One of their primary duties is to act as “gatekeepers” filtering out unwanted cold sales calls from reaching our clients. You being a “Business Development Executive” should be very much acquainted with the practice.
Through cold calling, you were attempting to sell a new telephony solution to our company. You were in no way trying to avail of any services offered by Call Pal as stated in your review. Contrary to your belief, the information you provided was indeed passed on to the relevant parties and your company was researched. The fact that your main website automatically forces the download of a suspicious executable file when visited and returns a “410” error code when scanned does not instil the level of confidence required to trust with such important infrastructure to our business. Further to this, your company has no listing that could be found on Google, only a business with a similar name at the same address that is listed as closed. I hope you can understand the impression that this gives and truthfully your subsequent actions did nothing to dissuade this impression, if anything, they solidified it. With this in mind, our team acting as the “gatekeepers” to Call Pal, prevented an unwanted cold call from what on the surface appears to be a highly suspicious source being put through to members of the team. This is exactly what they are trained to do.
Cold calling is not a practice we engage in, but it is something we do have a lot of experience with. Some free advice when cold calling in the future. We would recommend not utilising pressure selling tactics as this is very much frowned upon and will more times than not violate a prospect’s trust. In fact, this type of aggressive behaviour is rarely ever rewarded. Those “ladies” you referred to that answered your calls did not appreciate it, the “gentlemen” on our team, I assure you had they answered your call, would not have either.
Kind regards,
The Call Pal Team
