Received a letter about an unpaid parking fine from over 3 years ago. Never had any prior contact from the parking company, or these scammers. The car park in question, is and always has been: free to use.
£170? See you in court.

I am having a terrible experience with these scammers
I am being taken to court for a debt I never owed but was told if I pay half I will be able to stop this
They should be stopped from doing this to people
I hope the government will stop companies like this evil BW legal from threatening innocent people

BW Legal wrote to me in January 2022 that I owed money and that they had previously written to me (which they hadn't). After disputing the debt (which they never sent any proof of) and complaining, I received a confirmation letter and thought the matter was resolved - their Trace Department had allocated my name, address and date of birth to the case in error.

However, in November last year they again claimed that I owed the same debt, but now under a different reference. I again complained and referred to the correspondence of the original case. They said that the only letter relating to this is the one I received in November. I also asked for proof of the original debt, which they sent me in May of this year. The debt is for the balance of insurance on a car which I have never owned and the address on the documents is to someone with my name in a different part of the country. I have never owned a car of that make/model, never heard of the insurance company, never lived at the address in the correspondence and the debt is not mine. Despite this, they say the matter is resolved and they will be taking further action. They have not provided any evidence linking me to this debt and cannot do so. The alleged debt is for 2019 and I have lived continuously at my present address for over 25 years, but BW Legal ignores all of this.

BE WARNED - do not deal with BW Legal by telephone as you have no evidence later on that the communication ever existed.

I my opinion, this is the most despicable legal company I can imagine; unprofessional, and a complete lack of diligence or integrity and impossible to communicate with on any kind of intelligent level.

Send warning letters but impossible to get hold of them like British Gas don't answer emails

BW Legal — Debt Collectors, Drama Queens & Failed Review Silencers 🎭

BW Legal reached out recently — not with evidence, mind you, but with an Income & Expenditure form for a debt that’s 10 years old, statute-barred, and already dismissed by the Financial Ombudsman Service in 2020. I laughed so hard I nearly direct-debited my sense of humour.

It’s like being asked to fill out a mortgage application for a house you’ve never seen — from someone holding a napkin as proof of ownership. 🤡

But wait, there’s more: these folks once sued Trustpilot because they didn’t like their reviews… and lost. That’s right — they tried to silence free speech, and the court said, “Nah.” So if you're reading this, congrats — they legally can’t stop you. 🎉

If you enjoy unsolicited paperwork, zero accountability, and companies who think recycling old debts is a business model, BW Legal is the gold standard. Personally, I prefer comedy shows where the clowns don’t send mail

Can’t give a lower score than that. These scum have started chasing me for an unpaid Sky account. I don’t have a Sky account. Impossible to contact them without confirming details or using their “customer portal”. Thereby accepting liability. Live chat is a waste of space. They just terminate you mid conversation if they disagree with what you say.

Sending me letters for a British Gas account which I never had! Will wait until the court action if happens then take to the FCA

These ppl are preying on the vulnerable. Hard to reach. Kept getting dropped lines. When eventually got thro they advised it was a supposed parking ticket from 5 years ago! Still chasing ! They should chase the tax dodgers!

I have received a demand for an outstanding amount supposedly owed to British Gas from 3 years ago.
I have from British Gas that there is a zero balance on the account.
Having read other reviews about BW legal I ask
How many more potential victims will fall foul of these fraudsters before they are put behind bars?

Currently in an ongoing battle with BW Legal and have been for what feels like forever.
They are stating I owe British Gas’s £590 for unpaid bills.

Firstly some of the dates are nothing to do with me as I had moved out of the property

Secondly, I have sent evidence of every time I paid British Gas during the period of time I did live at the property

Thirdly, I have sent proof I received winter payments during the time I lived at the property.

I have sent so much proof and I have messaged continuously and I have now received an email off them that stated they’ve not heard from me..!!! I’ve messaged multiple times and no one’s contacted me back and now they have the cheek to say they’ve not heard from me in 45 days ! I have proof I have contacted them and they’ve not replied to me.

Of course when I do get a response they’ll come up with an excuse of why they cannot use the proof I’ve sent which has happened before and this is because they don’t care if people are innocent they just are money grabbers.
I feel so incredibly infuriated. I feel like they are just hoping I give up so I pay. I have zero money to do that and I also wouldn’t do that as I do not owe anything.
I take responsibility for past mistakes and I pay my debt but this I will not pay for as it is not fair, truthful and so very wrong.

I have explained for months and months I’m looking after my baby who is poorly and has regular hospital visits and I have explained how wrong this is and how much unnecessary stress this is causing.

I’m now in contact with a solicitor and I will now be getting this shut down once and for all, I should receive compensation because of the stress they have caused. It makes me sick to my stomach.

Recieved a letter for a non existent Sky account which they got a CCJ for by sending all the documents to an address i havent lived at for 7 years and then send threatening letters to my current address.
No way of contacting them by email - phone wait to speak to soemone is 30 plus minutes - formal complaint to them SRA and FCA who regulate them as this action is clearly designed to trap people

I received a letter off this company saying that I owed £801 for British gas, for a property that me and my wife rented. We have provided them with evidence over and over again to prove that we did not live there in the time period they have given us. We have proved that we were living somewhere else, with documentation such as tenancy agreements, council tax statements. The utility bills were never in my name as they were in my wife's. When we moved out we gave the final readings etc and ironically British gas owed us £900 in my wife's name.
We have even given them the landlords name, telephone and address and they have not acted on this. After we moved out the landlord has left the property empty till selling it 8 months later. I think the landlord hasn't updated the responsibility and BW LEGAL have just picked my name off the electoral role and pursued me, despite all the evidence we have supplied them with. We have now received an email today 03/06/2025 saying that once again the further evidence we have supplied is still not good enough. I am now starting to feel harassed by this company and feel that they will never be satisfied until I cave under the pressure to pay a bill that isn't mine.
We have now contacted a solicitor to get legal advice on a counter process, to pursue legal costs for when we attend a ccj court, loss of earnings and stress caused. We are also contacting the Fca with a complaint and any other authority this company should answer too.

If I could give zero stars, I would. In October 2022, British Gas allowed someone to open an account in my maiden name—a name I haven’t legally used since 2016—at a property I haven't owned or lived in for 15 years. Fast forward to 2025: BW Legal sends me two threatening letters claiming I owe money for gas and electric at that very address, for supply dates between July 2024 and February 2025. The problem? I haven’t had any connection to that property since selling it in 2010.

Trying to resolve this has been nothing short of infuriating and surreal.

Three frustrating calls with BW Legal later, and still no resolution. British Gas? Absolutely unreachable unless you already have an account — and surprise, I don’t, because this fraudulent one was never mine to begin with. After doing the legwork they should have done, I reported the incident to Action Fraud and received a crime reference number (NFRC). BW Legal promptly informed me they "don’t accept those anymore." Really? Since when is an official fraud report not valid evidence?

Now I’m being asked to prove that I didn’t own the property during the fraudulent billing period. Let that sink in — I am being held responsible for someone else’s account, at a property I no longer legally own, under a name I haven’t used in nearly a decade. Paperwork from 15 years ago? Gone, thanks to GDPR-compliant document destruction. So now I’m jumping through hoops to prove who I am and where I live now — uploading marriage certificates, mortgage statements, and land registry documents. All to clear my name in a situation I didn’t cause.

This entire experience has cost me hours of stress, confusion, and unnecessary admin. The burden of proof has been unfairly dumped on me, with absolutely no support or sensible process from either BW Legal or British Gas. Not only do I want this resolved immediately, but I fully expect compensation for the time, anxiety, and appalling treatment I’ve endured.

Sort this out. Now.

Trustpilot recently took down my review as BW Legal claim my review was not genuine. Trust pilot then asked me to provide evidence for my claim. Not sure what BW Legal provided Trustpilot for it to take down my review.
I also provided evidence to Trustpilot several times which they claim is not in the format required. I then provided one in Word format which again they said was not acceptable. On 30 Apr 2025 after almost a year Bwlegal and after I asked them to take me to court , wrote to me stating the matter is now put on hold and they will revert to me if their client Eon responds.

I was contacted by bw legal about a parking ticket that I was still disputing. I tried to call them to explain my side and that was the worst mistake. They tormented me with phone calls. This whole thing made me anxious and I had a mental breakdown. I wrote to them and explained my situation but they never got back me instead they went ahead and applied a ccj on my file. Almost 6 years now I have received a letter from bw legal demanding for £225 for another parking ticket that was issued Almost 6 years back. Saying they were going to refer my case to the County Court judgement though its the first time they have contacted me about this ticket. Basically they are going to torment me for the rest of my life. This is really affecting me. I'm very scared and having another breakdown because I know what ever I do they will just put the ccj. They are bullies I just feel they are going to haunt me for the rest my life and my mental health is badly affected. I feel I can't take it anymore.

They're representing a debt collection agency for a debt that is not legally recoverable and is 7 years old. I filed my defence which is pretty bullet proof. They then proceed to mail me with a generic letter that threatens further cost. They clearly have not even read my defence or they would cease proceedings. I will see them in court, and they can stand on their “evidence” in front of a judge.

Companies like this need government review. Running around penny pinching from vulnerable people over old credit agreements and small matters.

They will try to take your money.apeal it,write a defence, there good chance you win it.usually they make money from people who can't be bothered and simply paying them.

Trustpilot has taken down my original review as 'it was flagged by BW Legal Services Limited as they say it is not genuine'. Well my review is genuine, 100% honest and indeed, I have now sent documentation to Trustpilot to prove it is genuine and have now put my review back online. I am now considering legal action against BW Legal for their sickening behaviour.

Firstly, I would like to make it known that there is no illegal or harmful or other content intended within this honest review, and indeed everything wrote within this review can be proved, without doubt, via the letters from BW Legal Services Limited, my recorded letters and my recorded calls with them. Indeed freedom of speech laws is used at all times. I am simply sharing my experiences in dealing with this company. And my words are not defamation or other but are 100% water-tight and provable facts.

Despite my complaints and dispute with British Gas, they sent the disputed debt to BW Legal Services Limited and at all times I was not handled in a compliant, ethical and fair manner by BW Legal! I now refuse to engage with this company for several reasons, which include the very bad reviews here via Trustpilot, and due to the despicable and sickening behaviour. I do not care for their ‘intimidation tactics’ and 'false warrant of control which the County and Magistrate Courts have no records of!', FACT!. I would share the opinion that this company should be investigated and shut down. I have experienced the same behaviour as said by most of the sickening reviews and it is unforgivable. They have no powers, are full of it. Using dirty-underhanded tricks! Even if they got a legitimate warrant of control, the courts will never issue a warrant that allows 'forced power of entry', so I will not let them into my home or property. In writing via many of my recorded letters, I have removed their 'implied right of access' which they try to say is not helpful to me as they have a warrant. LOL! They tried then to use a pointless order from the 'Northampton Business Centre which is not a County Court, at all, and such orders from there are not signed as there are no Judges or any other Legal representatives working there'. My experience is that BW Legal is simply playing on people's fear to pay them what they do not owe. Many people are vulnerable, and like me, they do not owe the money at all to the likes of British Gas. It is time to get a lot tougher on this company and I would ask politicians, Barristers and others to seriously do their job and start acting immediately. I will not engage with these people despite their intimidation, misleading, fear and other pointless tactics. Indeed, I have experienced it all, I have letters from them, and my recorded calls to prove the following like the threats such as 'we are coming for you', 'threats of credit rating and CCJ's', and much more! 'Were they blackmailing me? I'll let the public decide that'. I can prove 100%, without doubt, everything I write here on this review. Furthermore, they were made fully aware of vulnerability and disabilities within the household. Again, their latest stunt is misleading Trustpilot that my last review was not genuine, however Trustpilot now has documentation showing my reviews are 100% genuine. If BW Legal Services Limited do not like what people, like I, honestly write about them, then they should stop behaving the way they do, there are so many unhappy and upset people like I. It is so sad. Everyone who reads this review should understand that I am not a Solicitor or other; therefore I am not giving any advice whatsoever. I am clearly sharing my honest experiences, review in dealing with BW Legal Services Limited.

I have received a letter of claim regarding a PCN. I am not connected with the vehicle nor parking it. I had the same letter from another solicitors last year and my solicitor wrote to them confirming that I had nothing to do with it, along with a letter from DVLA saying that I have no connection whatsoever with the vehicle. We thought that was the end of it. Today I have received a letter from BW Legal making the same allegation about the same vehicle and the same parking offence. They obviously just pass around unpaid debts and are not in the least bit concerned if they have the right person or not.
