You can't lose points off your score signing up for the card before they have even taken the first payment you will of gained 15 points on your credit rating. I didn't believe the claims either now I just wish I would of done it weeks ago...

We're sorry to hear that you feel misled about the product. Please note that you are not able to complete your sign up to BuildMyCreditScore without explicitly choosing a subscription plan and the frequency of the billing. We can see that you selected our £42 semi-annual payment plan when signing up.
We've looked into this further and can see that you were interacting with our specialist Payments Team regarding closing your account and an outstanding payment that we were unable to collect funds for because you cancelled your Direct Debit connection with us.
These issues can sometimes take time to resolve due to the nature of the Direct Debit method, but we can see that the team responded to you promptly and your account was closed once we had collected the outstanding funds and the pro rata refund for the remainder of your subscription had been processed.

Just wasn't a fit for me at all
Just wasn't a fit for me at all. Had a hard time canceling and just an all around unpleasant experience from start to finish. Waste of money for me.

Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, and we're sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant experience when cancelling your account.
We've had a look and can see that, after reading a help centre article suggested by our support tool, you marked your cancellation request as "solved" so your request was not seen by our Customer Support team and therefore not actioned before your subscription payment was submitted.
When you got back in touch, the Customer Support team was able to refund your subscription payment and close your account once the refund had completed.

Your BuildMyCreditScore debit card is specifically designed for small everyday purchases such as coffee, snacks and other incidentals, as well as regular payments like Netflix and Spotify. We will then collect the payment from your linked account via Direct Debit a couple of days later.
Making these small purchases using BuildMyCreditScore allows us to report your spend to Credit Reference Agencies and help improve your credit score, without the risk of needing to use a high interest credit card.
We've had a look and can see that, since signing up to BuildMyCreditScore in January 2024, your credit score has increased by a whopping 159 points which is great to see!
