Amazing experience, after seeing so many negative reviews on this site. I have been very surprised with the service I received. I ordered some alpine newt eggs. They were advertised as ready for delivery and I received them within 48hrs of ordering. I even had a couple of newt larvae that had hatched in the post.
I can not comment on the butterfly/moth side of business as I have never ordered this stuff and it’s not my specialty.

Overall experience with this company is great. Ive used them a few times and the insects are great quality.
They always come really well, packaged and if in season and ready for delivery then they arrive in a timely fashion.
Customer service is fantastic I always get help with what I feel are silly questions and responses are fast and very helpful.

Made a $69 order in June 2025. Its end of March 2026 never received my order. Been following up since. I would like my money back or my order. They don't respond. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SHOP!

Tiny caterpillars received securely with some food plant .
Looking forward to seeing them going through their lifecycle and then release them as adults.

Just recieved another order from b&b, pleased to say all ten pupa are looking very alive and well with one having emmerged this morning already. Quick and efficient delivery you just have to pay attention when ordering to the "availability" if youre not looking to pre order

I’ve been following and purchasing from Bugs & Butterflies for a couple years now. I’ve purchased eggs, cocoons and caterpillars and all have been a great learning experience for myself & my young daughter. Mother Nature is such a wonderful thing and seeing the beautiful butterflies and moths that emerge is a real pleasure. With a little bit of patience and the right environment, anyone can enjoy these wonderful creatures.

This is a repeat of my email about 6 months ago.
These are scammers and bullshitters, if you know of anyone you buys live butterflies and moths please advise them to stay well clear of these liars! You will lose your money and you will receive emails with new goods for sale also stating they are catching up on their emails, Ive recently asked for the refund time and time agin, but they insist I have credit with them, joke! - I do not want to ever deal with these again!!!.... Avoid like the plague!!!

I have received my moth eggs in post when they were safe to send I know it could take a while as who knows when moths are going to lay eggs and how many there will be so somtimes have to wait till they get sent I’ve had not issues with bugs and butterfly’s what so ever if I need any information they are willing to help just email I will be doing much more business with them in the future Paul

This was my first time getting moths and they both emerged perfectly, they are amazing! The delivery was perfect and packed well! Please read their terms and conditions for delivery before placing your order, as seasonality and other factors play a role in the waiting time! I ordered my moths about one and half month ago, and was patient. Patience rewards, especially in this kind of hobby.

Although my Madagascan Bullseye moth cocoons took a while to come, I was prepared for this, as the website does explain how things work in terms of availability. I was also kept updated on the progress. The cocoons arrived in perfect condition and we have already had 3 out of the 5 hatch, with two successfully pairing! They are stunning moths and my two boys and I have loved the experience. Thank you!

I ordered blue moon butterflies and when they hatched every single one was mangled, they then died the very next day. I then ordered 2 Madagascan bullseye moths and one is dead and the others wings are all mangled. I tried to email about the butterflies, they asked to see my setup and then they completely ignored me. I don’t believe these moths & butterflies are being cared for well at all.

Everything is always well packaged and arrives quickly. Did have an issue with royal mail one time however this was quickly resolved, so their communication is very good and reliable.

Eggs look healthy! Takes a while for them to arrive but that's not surprising considering moths can not lay on command and often lay depending on season,so if you don't receive your eggs/cocoons as quickly as you expected, I suggest waiting and maybe checking the website to see when it said they may be available. Would definitely order again, seller is lovely and I can't wait to see some moth larvae hatch!
