Review about my mothers house.
Bromford are absolute trash. My mother has had issues with her bathroom since she moved in years ago, they were supposed to be sorting it out since June bearing in mind she is a carer and cannot always get time off. So when she does and the workmen don't turn up it's a complete joke. Do you think she wants to waste her life waiting for useless workmen to turn up. Her bathroom is literally rotting. What a joke. She'll be on her deathbed before the idiots turn up.

We have lived in the same Bromford property for 10 years, after swapping with a tenant whom had 2 daughters in 2016.
We have now applied for a mutual exchange to be able to move back to Scotland (where I was born!) after coming to an agreement with a woman with 2 daughters who wants to move back to England.
Bromford however have refused the mutual exchange, claiming that the incoming tenant would be under-occupying this house.
This doesn’t make sense of course, when taking into account the fact that we are doing a like for like exchange of a 3 bed house for another 3 bed house, and in fact this house is smaller in size due to the 3rd bedroom only being a box room.
My 3 daughters (the eldest being 19) are cramped into 2 bedrooms in this house and would benefit from a home with double bedrooms and no box room.
I am extremely upset that they have declined this swap, without taking into account the mental health damage that it can cause when you are preventing somebody moving home due to family ties and anxiety at being stuck somewhere with no support.
There is no human factor involved in their decision making process at all, and in fact are clearly in violation of the housing act 1985 that states under-occupation is not classed as having only one spare bedroom, so even by their standards of 2 girls having to share one room, there would only be technically one ‘spare’ bedroom anyway. This would be utilised due to the incoming tenants youngest daughter having additional needs, but Bromford are requesting that the incoming tenant proves this. She shouldn’t have to!
I am seeking further advise on this matter.

Chris Taylor was amazing. He put right all the previous “bodged” jobs and removed around four windows so that he could repair them properly. He added sealing around all the windows, fitted security tags and left everything clean and tidy.

I had Lee and Adam porter out for the whole day to do a complete rip out and install of my bathroom, they left it clean and tidy and done a phenomenal job, very happy with their work, and lovely and polite customer service also.

The plumber that came to fix my flush was polite, professional and got the job done quickly and tidily. However waiting 2 weeks to get it fixed wasn't so good.

Lee & Chris came out to fix my window, they were both extremely professional and polite, I always feel comfortable and safe having the guys in my property - they are a real asset to Bromford

I called Bromford to report a repair & luckily for me Julie P answered the call & I instantly remembered this lovely ladies voice from my previous call, 🤝 she goes above & beyond with her customer service skills, her energy is amazing & she should train all new staff with her phenomenal attitude & kindness to offer support with empathy & understanding. She made my day as she remembered me also! 🤝🤩

Had a bathroom and toilet renewed. Stuart who did the work was without doubt a very experienced worker. He worked with us to achieve our satisfaction on everything. We couldn't ask for more. Many many thanks and congratulations to him for a job well done.

Den arrived to fix my kitchen taps due to one leaking he was polite and friendly he done the job very quickly and definitely deserves a pay right

We're in our second year in a new build and are pretty happy with the house. However!! ....... Neighbourhood coach may aswell be non existent. Having to put a complaint in EVERY time just to get a reply from them! It does leave you wondering what they are actually doing to never reply to emails. Also been waiting nearly a month for a repair. Bromford have also turned a blind eye to external issues affecting the property. There's very much a 'You're in the house and now you're forgotten' attitude. Communication is Bromfords biggest flaw and should be addressed.

Another update on my ongoing experience with Bromford.

Bromford has now upheld three of my complaints. You would reasonably expect that once a housing association accepts that complaints have substance, something meaningful would actually happen to put things right.

Unfortunately, that has not been my experience.

Instead, I have been offered what I consider to be completely inadequate compensation, while the underlying problems remain unresolved.

Even basic property issues are still outstanding. My window seals have still not been properly dealt with, and other problems I have repeatedly raised remain unresolved.

So what exactly is the point of Bromford upholding complaints if the outcome is effectively:

“Yes, we got it wrong — here’s a small amount of money — now carry on living with the same problems.”

A complaint being upheld should mean more than words on a letter. It should mean action, accountability, and putting things right.

I have spent a huge amount of time documenting these issues, providing evidence and going through Bromford’s complaints process. Yet I’m still having to chase basic matters that should have been resolved already.

This isn’t about asking for special treatment. It’s about expecting a housing provider to fix problems it has acknowledged and properly address complaints it has upheld.

The complaints may have been upheld, but from my perspective, the problems haven’t been fixed.

And until they are, I will continue to challenge Bromford through the appropriate channels.

Had a repair a few weeks ago as water was coming through the ceiling, and was considered an emergency as we have 2 disabled individuals in the house and a baby. They came and told us it would be fine and that it would be fixed, a few weeks/days later, water continued to drip into the living room and practically flooded the room. We called them around the middle of August and they told us to wait until September 10th, even when I told them that brick was coming from the ceiling whilst the ceiling looked like it was caving in. It's terrible considering that it won't even be fixed for some time, and that the people in the house can't even bathe/shower without worrying about water dripping into the living room beneath.

Excellent customer service,quick to resolve my 2 questions,all roundwelcoming friendly person

Christopher Gardner came up with a practical solution to an issue that has been raised many times since we moved in. When the house was built the tiles shelf above the bath slanted towards the wall so the water didn’t drain. Despite us scraping the water off every time the shower was used the sealant rotted away and it started leaking into the living room. He put a piece of upvc board over the shelf, slanted it towards the bath and took the time to use some oil based paint to cover up the water mark on the living room wall. Great job - thank you
