Leave you can for 1 hour prior to trying to start the car 🚗, I tried my car and it just about started , I won’t e staying with these brake down people, I thought I was doing the right thing to inform them , so they can help other drivers in peril , a bunch of vultures,

I broke down by Finnegans Limerick this evening. Mike from AA came out to me really quickly. He was so polite and reassuring. He had my car home within 30 mins. So professional. He made what could have been a very stressful situation so easy for me . Mike is a credit to the AA. Thank you again Mike 😀

Engine management light came on whilst on motorway. Managed to get to next services in engine limp mode. Contacted emergency assist which was totally waste of time. Wouldn't send anyone out to check vehicle as they said they wouldn't be able to repair it! As I had nationwide recovery I assumed I could get recovery home as it was a Sunday no local garages open. No this wasn't the case , apparently their nationwide recovery will only take you up to a maximum of 25 miles. Being 80 miles from home I had no option other than to try and drive home on motorway at 30mph. Very stressful experience. Don't rely on this company for breakdown cover .

Won’t be renewing cover-the one time I needed them they let me down.I couldn’t hear what was being said to me very clearly when I rang due to lots of background noise from what sounded like a call centre-gave up in the end and and made other arrangements.

I didn't want this company to renew my cover ( payment goes out automatically every year) this was due to a bad experience with them . In the end I had to get the bank to stop my card. Nobody would pick up the phone there were so many people trying to cancel their membership I couldn't get through

Avoid at all costs, you may as well just throw your money out the window. Con artists. If I could leave zero stars I would. Absolute disgrace of a company. I have personal cover on any vehicle and tonight my 40 year old vw broke down. Called them and was eventually told that they could take me 7.5 miles to a garage or send a man to fix it but if he couldn’t then that was the end of the claim. This was after 6pm so no garage open so I complained. I was then told they haven’t got anyone to recover me so leave it at the roadside and go home, 21 miles, or stay with it and they’ll see if they can get it done tomorrow!
I’m left stranded with my wife and dog on a busy road in pitch black. I googled the nearest recovery service who is going to be here within the hour and although I pay for a recovery policy, it is going to cost me £200 to get home.
Disgraceful company. I’ll be logging a formal complaint with the financial onbudsman Monday morning.

Drove our van 150 miles from a campsite in South Wales back home to Somerset yesterday. Noticed a squeaky noise so booked it into the garage for Monday and used my car today to be on the safe side as didn’t know what it was…
I had to collect my child from childcare early due to illness so I drove there in the van. Minutes from childcare, I got warning lights, the steering went light and then I could smell something. I pulled into the car park, picked up my children and called Breakdown Assist (within 20 mins of breaking down) as I knew I wouldn’t get home again.
I explained to them about the squeak yesterday on driving home and that I’d now broken down. They told me that they were denying my claim and couldn’t help me because I had not claimed within 6 hours of breakdown, despite only breaking down 30 mins previously. They were taking me mentioning the squeak as a breakdown!!! I ended the call stressed and upset (my kids are 2&4 which they knew) and when I could finally get my husband to get to us in our car, he called them back. It took over 2 hours to get through to someone!!!
When speaking to them, my husband asked for a definition of ‘broken down’ to which their answer was ‘immobile’. We went round in circles explaining that it’s only within 30 mins is it deemed immobile, so within their 6 hour limit (on the T&C’s). I mean, how could I have driven 150 miles home and then to nursery today if it was already broken down??!! So they don’t even follow their own T&Cs, just make excuses to not provide a service.
My husband then asked what would they have done if we’d have phoned them for a ‘squeaky van’ - they’d have laughed at us and told us to take it to a garage, which we did and the only available slot is Monday next week.
To make matters worse, the policy only started 3 days ago (renewed at the same time every year) and ensured it was renewed as we knew it would run out whilst on holiday. So despite cooling off periods, they won’t give us our money back.
We’ve paid for a policy they won’t let us claim on (we’ve even tried to make a new claim rather than argue the existing one) and we’ve tried to cancel the policy and we can’t do that either. So an absolute waste of money, and we have both vehicles covered with them.
When asked to speak to a manager the answer was ‘there’s no one available’ which is a load of rubbish! They said we could try call tomorrow but I’m not holding on the phone for 2 hours again!
We’ve now phoned a local recovery company and paid £200 out of our own pocket to have it recovered 6 miles to our garage. They should be with us at 9:30pm and I broke down at 4:20pm.
Avoid this company at all costs. It may be a cheaper option initially but they will not help you when you need it.
I’m greatful I wasn’t too far from home or in an unsafe area, but with 2 young children it was super stressful.
I am a 75 year old woman
I am a 75 year old woman, 20 miles from home I hit a kerb avoiding white van man, resulting in a puncture. Rang this supposed breakdown company and was told they would not attend because it wasn’t an accident! I explained I was paying them for breakdown cover and asked if I had let the van hit me would they have attended. Apparently not as my car does not have a spare wheel. Had to arrange for a mobile tyre company for help. They attended changed my tyre and got me going. This company are absolutely diabolical. Please do not waste your time or money. I have now taken out breakdown cover with the RAC, who have assured me they would never just abandon me.
The cover is cheap but there's a reason 🤔
When I phoned up the lady was arguing with me about where I broke down and how far away I was to the local garage although I have lived in this area for 40 years. When the truck came instead of putting my car onto the drive he just left it parked opposite and told me to get it towed. My neighbours had to help me push my car onto my drive . I would not use them again

I urgently advise anyone NOT to take out breakdown cover with this company!
Despite being very happy to take your money they look for any excuse NOT to actually assist you when you break down.
If it appears your car is in "Limp Mode" even though it isn't, they will suggest it is and then not recover your vehicle or rescue you.
They are obviously looking to leave you on the roadside and NOT rescue you. My vehicle was not in "Limp Mode" but they suggested it was, so they could wriggle out of the rescue.
This company is crooked and their sales technique is a complete sham. They take your money year on year but then will NOT assist you at the very time you need their assistance. I have been paying money to them for a number of years and the first time I asked for help, they wriggled out of it.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT ENTER INTO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM!

Been with this company for some 10 years with no problems. Usually they are swift to respond. I needed their service as I mistakenly misfeuled my car. I am disabled so need a fast service. I called and was cut off twice before getting through to the call handler. I struggled to understand them due to the language barrier. After 30 minutes of putting me on hold to check I was insured and I was then was and was asked to pay £30. I didn't have my card so asked for a pay link or Google pay which they didn't have. I did I conference call with my partner who made the payment. They said that I would get assistance w within 60 to 90 mins. I told them I am disabled and vulnerable so they said they would tell the recovery. After another 30mins I had not got a confirmation txt as they have done in previous recoveries. I called them back. I was put on hold again for another 10 mins only to be told that no one could come out to me that night and could come the next day 15 hrs later!!!! Again I explained that I was unable to get out of the car due to my mobility and vulnerability and it was essential that I got home for medication. They asked me if I was refusing the recovery. I was in floods of tears and ended the call and called a local recovery service who came to get me and took me home within 30 minutes. They told me that Breakdown assist uses them to recover vehicles and said that they could have called them to get me!!! I was fuming.
This is not the type of service I expect, shoddy call handler with zero empathy. Miss information and did not uphold their commitment of service. Sadly your service is not what it was and would rather pay the bigger boys a premium price than go through this cafuffle again.
I will not be renewing..... and give me my £30 back!

Doesn't like you trying to get a quote for a pickup truck at the moment I am with the RAC sadly during these hard times decided too shop around, went on Mobile assistant own website typed in my vehicles details didn't get any further classed as a commercial vehicle.
RAC cover the driver not the vehicle even if you are a passenger in another vehicle I will be staying where I am

Absolutely shocking service when you need it.
Have been with this company several years and never had any issues.
However I recently had reason to call them for breakdown assistance and apart from taking forever to answer my call the representative could not locate my policy on their systems.
They asked for my policy number which I didn't have to hand so I offered to give them the vehicle reg number which they still couldn't find ,my name,my address,my email address,nothing , eventually they found the policy ,after an hour trying to sort out a flat tyre with these bunch of incompetent bunch of People ,I gave up due to utter frustration,I instead got a local garage to sort it.i have now cancelled the policy with them ,no pro rata refund is offered,they keep the full premium despite there being 11 months left on the policy,I have now taken a policy out with another company,DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THESE PEOPLE

Appalling. I was on motorway today and a bit of metal from under my car came loose, scraping on the ground. Pulled onto hard shoulder. Rang breakdown assist. Took ages being passed around and them saying they can't find me. Eventually they did. I was asked 'does the car start and can it move back wards and forwards '. I said yes thinking this was in relation to getting it on tow truck. They then said they can't help as it drivable. I said its not safe to drive on motorway and I can't get it off hard shoulder. They said they can't alter my first answer when I said it goes backwards and forwards. So they said they won't come even though I said it's not safe. Then my battery died as hazard lights on so I rang back. Still not eligible. A local man came to help instead and towed me off and said I could have put myself and others at risk had I driven. Appalling

Awful terrible service, left me 6 hours waiting for a tyre change when the chap arrived said he couldn't change the tyre but would send someone else....he didn't! 9 hours later at 185 quid out of pocket I paid for local breakdown who changed tyre in 5 minutes.. impossible to deal with these people and they charged me £35 excess . Avoid at all costs , its cheap but totally disreputable

PATHETIC COMPANY
PATHETIC COMPANY. I paid for the top cover, that means everything, roadside repair, recovery etc. So I had a problem and my auxilliary belt snapped, rang these and told them I needed a real mechanic to repair, relace the belt and get me back on the rd. Well the attitude of the operator left a lot to be desired. He told me the car would be recovered to a garage within 6.7 miles, I said NO I want it repairing and so I can get on my way so send a Mechanic to replace. No way that was happening, they sent a recovery truck and I then told them I want it taking to my local garage that does all my work, he asked for the postcode? that turned out to be 8.9miles away, so no way can it be towed there. I told him I paid for the top cover but he said he wasnt bothered and it would be going to one within 6.7 miles. SO the car went to a garage which is about 5.5 miles away. He had the car 7 days and caused more problems to mention and the car wouldnt start. I ended up towing it to my local garage where it is now and theyre going to have to repair the original garages errors. All he had to do was change the belt and it shouldve been back on the rd, but it has now left me without a car due to these muppets at Brakdown Assist. AVOID THE CLOWNS AND DO NOT PAY FOR THEIR PATHETIC SERVICE, GO WITH THE REAL ONES, IE, AA or RAC. I for one will never use them again.
