No support at all
I have 50GB free space and only used 5gb but when itry to upload a small file (110MB) it gives me an error that i need to upgrade. Oh really ?? Looked everywhere for a support and nothing. What a great service.No trust anymore this site as they are not transparent , so if they are not imagine what happens to your uploaded files. I will move to another more secure platform and DELETE my account
BOX.com financial charges without notice
I see I'm not the only one who has had money improperly taken by BOX. I was a free user since 2013, so when they asked me to pay an annual fee a year ago, I thought it fair. Then in January 2023, they took $540 out of my account without notice--billed me $180 x 3, which I assumed was for 3 years annual subscription --because 1) it did not specify on the invoice, and because 2) I received some fairly firm emails and phone calls saying that I was "out of compliance" because I had additional users on one of my folders and I needed to purchase more seats since I only had paid for one.)
When I canceled the account, they stated that the 3x was for "seats", (but your rep said I only had one...) and the $540 was for the current year subscription, and they would not be reimbursing me (see Terms).
Had I known that there was going to be a new financial charge to file sharing, I would have removed these files from the account. Because for 10 years this filesharing had been free.
I now have removed ALL of my files and canceled my account immediately. I am even willing to pay for the one year/one seat because of their terms, but support/billing stated they won't be reimbursing anything because it's the TERMS OF SERVICE. I am willing to pursue this, so let's see how this turns out. Me against a large corporation that actually operates out of another country (UK).
It also concerns me that there is no way to cancel my credit card online--I have to contact their billing office and trust them to make those changes. Which I don't trust. Thanks for listening.
Update: After a very strongly worded email stating that I intended to pursue, BOX did reimburse a portion of the amount, leaving me responsible for approximately 1 year of 1 seat, even though I canceled and deleted my account within 3 weeks of the term. That is what their new terms say (changed without notice). I will not pursue further, but they got me for a third. 😣
Beware unexpected renewal fee.
Just had a very unexpected renewal bill- that I didn’t request as I no longer use the service. I have emailed customer service and will await a response and update appropriately.
Update - upon appeal Box refunded the full cost of the second year. Joanna in customer service was very understanding- Thank you.
There is no customer service or…
There is no customer service or support. They force you to review the blogs and other user issues to get an answer. There is no customer support phone number. If you call the main number option 3 for support tells you the only way to handle an issue is on the website, but there's no way to handle an issue on the website, except submit a ticket. I'm locked out of my account because the 2FA doesn't work. If you can't login there is a separate way to submit a ticket. However, it says the wait time to submit a ticket when you can't login is much longer than if you login and submit a ticket. Here's the kicker - when my CC expired they sent me a note right away to say it expired. I replied I can't login to fix that. They gave me a way to update the CC, but said I'd have to submit a separate ticket for the login issue. When I said I already had but no one replied, I received a customer survey.
Great platform
Good UI and I like the new Box Sign feature. It also scans documents well from a mobile device.
No grace for cancelation
Forgot autorenew was set, Box refused to refund even on same day of auto-renewal.
NEVER do business with this company.
Used their service for several years. I accidentally signed up for an upgrade in their confusing system. I immediately notified them of the error. They have refused to return my funds saying that essentially, "I clicked it so I bought it." They charged my bank account $1786.61.
Am seriously considering filing fraud charges.
Rainbows of disaster
Paid box $540 today. 3 hrs later tried to cancel due to the system not able to handle my needs. Box.com denied my request dispite the
14 day trial period. No customer support, phones only ring to sales, tried to submit a help ticket and there's no submit button.
Watch your money on this one. Scam all the way with box.com
Worst company ever
Worst company ever. I signed up for a trial version. They asked for my credit card and I'm good with that. Many others do. After established my account, I couldn't even log in. Tried to reset password, reset password email never came. Tried to contact their support, doesn't work either. Everything I tried to go to the website to cancel the subscription, it took me to the login. I received a welcome email from Lucia Gumucio, I was so happy to have someone contacted me. I replied that I wish to cancel. No response.
An invoice came, I replied to the email "billing at box.com" and it said "We are currently experiencing longer than usual wait times. Please search our extensive self-help information on our Support site or start or join a conversation in our Community. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience." 5 Days later, a response said they forwarded my email to "cancel at box.com" which is not display on their website. Now the person from Cancel said I didn't cancel in time. Worse company ever. Please don't work with them.
Awful
Ordered some items but didn't receive what was ordered. One of these items was two graded open box fans that never came in the box. The other was a BeQuiet 140mm Silent Wings 3 fan that came "with all accessories" but came loose with just four standard mounts. Spoke with customer service about this as I wasn't that bothered about the BQ SW3 but more about the missing fans. Customer service rep said they'd check and call me back, never did. This was my first experience ordering with Box and will certainly be my last. Do not order from Box, they will mess you about and forget about you. If you do order from Box and have had no issues, it is only a matter of time. Customer service is so dreadful they may as well replace their "representatives" with Microsoft Sam.
Unbelievably horrible support
Unbelievably horrible support. I got a new phone and my code generator was lost so I could not get into my account or even cancel. The support agent Ann closed my ticket when I said I could provide ID even. So I am stuck with no way to get any further help
BOX AUTON RENEWAL IS A SCAM
BOX IS A SCAM BECAUSE THEY FORCE YOU TO SIGN UP FOR AUTORENEWAL BUT THEN HIDE HOW TO CANCEL IT. You CANNOT cancel auto renewal by clicking a box on the website, rather they bury the cancellation in the help section and you have to jump through several menus before you finally get to a generic email form. You also CANNOT remove your credit card information from their website. The customer service is atrocious. I didn’t find this website until I scrolled to the bottom of the “complaint” search results. They’ve done a good job of pushing down negative review search results. I just can’t believe they make it this hard to get out of auto renewal. It’s senseless. BUYER BEWARE!!
BOX.com is close to being a scam
Was sent a link from bona fide company to download some files. The link was to a Box drop box. On clicking the link it said I needed a Box account to receive the data. I created an account which involved giving credit card details and it still didn't work and I eventually used a different method to receive the files. I cancelled the account and heard nothing more. I did not make any use of the account. 14 days later Box take £518.40 from my account. Their phone line just picks up and goes dead. I have asked for my money back and I will report back when I hear something. This company is close to running a scam.
Update 23/12/22: A couple of days ago I asked the bank (Nat West) to initiate a charge back to recover the money. Yesterday. BOX_UK refunded the 518.40 in full. So moral of this tale is firstly contest the charge with Box. Then, if no joy, ask your bank to do a charge back.

After about 15 years of use, I can say without a doubt that box has always been working great. Always on the page when needed.
Fast, secure, flexible, robust.
Integration with other solutions is smooth.
Sharing files or folders is remarkably well done, with in detail audit.
Edition in the cloud is also a great feature.
However some competitors (including Windows) offer cheaper solutions for collaborative work.
The pricing is a little high so I keep my needs low.

BEWARE OF SMALL PRINT. PLAN COSTS & USERS MISLEADING.
I had a "individual" account. Was trying to upgrade it to a different tier that stated a cost Of $60.00. I am the only user. I missed seeing the much smaller print on the site which stated a three user minimum. I guess my 70 year eyes are not as good they used to me. I put in my credit card and it went through. AFTER it went through, it displayed a confirmation charge of $180. (those 3 users). I immediately tried calling them, chatting with them, but couldn't get through the correct number. I sent them an email to their billing dept which was the only email address I could fine. They responded without directly stating if they would refund the money. I am still waiting for a response. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THERE ARE OTHER ALTERNATIVES. I PLAN TO WITE AS MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS ABOUT BOX.COM I CAN SO OTHERS WILL NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE.
Big mistake..We have used them for many years
We have used them for years. They sent their own compliance officer after our firm for a FINRA problem. Which would be very serious if it applied to our firm. Our business has nothing to do with that industry of stocks bond etc. We are just a small family independent Health Insurance agency that does not and has never had to deal with that particular federal guideline. Sadly will will have to deal with their poor management situation. Close our account and go to another cloud service. What a hassle! Buyer beware...
no refund
I registered today. I chose a plan based on monthly payments. I pressed the $24 per month button, the site crashed and the payment came immediately for $900 which I did not confirm. I did not even see this amount when paying, it was $24. Site with glitches. I called tech support and asked to cancel the payment. To which they was told that they would cancel. In the evening I received a letter that they cannot cancel the payment, and they will calculate this amount annually!!!! That is, you refuse the service that you do not want to use, which I said in box support, and that the payment was erroneous. For which they not only did not return the money to me, they also said that they would calculate it annually !!!! I will never deal with this disgusting service again.
Another completely terrible experience…
Another completely terrible experience with Box is unfolding today. We are a 15 user customer and are locked out. Sales team do not give a monkey's, billing and support team do not take phone calls from PAYING customers. I am surprised that these guys are still in business - their systems are setup with the sole purpose of annoying their customer base
