Amazing customer service, beautiful clothes
The customer service team at Blackmilk are really something special compared to “regular businesses” - even other small businesses I buy from don’t offer the same customer service experience as Blackmilk. They’re super responsive, relatable, friendly and they go above and beyond to help whenever they can. They make you feel like you’re a valued part of a family, it’s a uniquely personal approach and it’s kept me a loyal customer for over 10 years.
The clothing? There’s nothing else like it! It’s creative, eye-catching, great quality, and there’s something for everyone, from licensed pieces to beautiful classic artwork prints, from the comfiest oversized tees to stunning shimmering velvet dresses. I get compliments everywhere I go, and I can always spot another Blackmilk piece in the wild.
It’s very obvious I’m a huge fan, but honestly I can’t speak highly enough, I love the clothing, the customer experience, and the community.

The sheer number of styles, fabrics and designs is ridiculous! From the core staples to the regular collabs and drops, there will always be something to tempt you.
If you're even somewhat alternate, gamer, fantasy, nerdy, gothy, spooky, edgy .. this is the brand for you.
I've not found any issues with the quality or fabrics etc. The prices are v reasonable for what you get, especially when a lot of the products are actually made at BM HQ in Brisbane (the product details will advise where they are made).
I'm local so can just pick up my orders, but postage is v reasonable (within Aus at least).

Please avoid this company at all costs. They are absolute sellouts. They're selling Temu clothes for far too much. I nearly passed away when I realised that this awful skirt, rolled up in a plastic bag and stuffed into another plastic bag, was the £100 skirt I'd bought for my daughter's birthday. I was expecting to receive it in a nice box or something for the price. The quality is just shameful. How dare you pretend in your replies to people that this is how you intended your clothes to be. You could spit through this garment. It's not lined, random seams, just disgusting. I'm sure you wouldn't be able to hide your red face if you tried to give those replies in person! An absolute scam. Then I believe they try to give you store credit if you try to return! Scammers. I'm sure the poor previous owner is turning in his grave. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

10+ years a Sharkie
I've been buying from BlackMilk since 2013...and am still wearing some of those dresses today! I still love BlackMilk and their clothing makes up the majority of what I wear, but can still see why people are upset about some of the fabric. The fabrics differentiate between styles, for example the dress shirts tend to be a light fabric, which suits the style IMO (I have 4...). Their bombers, pinafore dresses, and strappy mini are fantastic. Recently been getting into their long sleeve shirts too which are excellent for lounging in. I generally buy things on sale so don't have complaints about those prices, and still buy things full price when I think they'll sell out. There was a period 5 years ago where my items seemed to be instantly pilling (Even bought a pilling shaver for them) but actually think it has improved since. Shipping is reasonable, can take time to send out but I'm usually buying during sale time. Thanks to the BM team for future orders :)

Overpriced for the novelty of an interesting print
There was a huge sale on and I decided to buy some stuff when on special. The fabric was incredibly poor quality for most of the items. I appreciate that it has to be synthetic for sublimation prints but still the fabric was very thin and Temu level, some items were not hemmed. No excuse for not finishing a garment. I also purchased a velvet dress, again unhemmed and the nap ran in the opposite direction to traditional velvet garments. So weird. Ok for the price I paid but I would have been destroyed had I purchased at full price. Probably won’t bother buying from them again.

These design choices are always outlined there so customers can get a clearer idea of the garment before purchasing.
While the fabrics we use are designed to be lightweight for comfort and printing, they’re also made to be sturdy, so unhemmed styles won't fray over time 🖤

Expensive shein quality clothes
Their items are so expensive for what the materials are. They used to be made in australia so i could justify the prices back then but now its all made in china. And the materials is mostly polyester. I dont understand why i would pay $130 CAD for a 82% polyester dress? The prints are cool sure but a simple skater dress should not be that much.

Polyester has always been a core part of many of our pieces because our prints are created using sublimation, which allows the artwork to become part of the fabric rather than sitting on top of it. This is what gives our designs their vibrant colours, sharp detail, and durability over time.
Our pricing also reflects the custom artwork, smaller production runs, and the specialised printing process used to create our pieces. While our garments are now produced with long-term manufacturing partners overseas, we continue to work closely with them to maintain the quality and construction our community expects.
We also list the fabric composition on every product page so customers can check the material details before purchasing.

Drastic drop in Quality
I used to love buying Blackmilk years ago- but the last few years the quality has dropped significantly. Designs no longer feel flattering, the fabric quality is thinner, the stirching feels less secure. I bought a dress from the LOTR collection for my Christmas party this year- when I received the dress in the mail, I actually had to go back and check to make sure I hadn't been duped by a Blackmilk knockoff site! That's where the Blackmilk quality is at the moment- it feels like a cheap knockoff of the Blackmilk of several years ago. Like you're ordering off Shein.

Look good, feel cheap
Honestly they look great but feel cheap- while they look great on me initially I am honestly scared to wash these as I feel one wash is going to ruin them they feel THAT cheap. Not really good considering their prices...

Temu/shein quality, with no care about proper measurement of the clothes.
The quality is REALLY cheap. The same kind you would get from temu and shein. I also had issues with their CSR team. I emailed them for measurements of their pant lengths BEFORE purchasing. They were actually 3 inches shorter than the quoted amount. I had to argue with their team in order to get just a store credit after also paying almost $50 in duties. Just terrible service and will never be buying from them again.

The customer service representative was amazing and communicative.
The customer service representative was so communicative and helpful when at no fault of the company, my package sent to the U.S. from Australia wound up in Canada and back to Australia. She follow-up with steps and never made it feel like I was a burden. When the U.S. Tariffs hit, and the package had to be resent, she outline options for my package. I don't think I could have had a better customer experience.

Terrible quality for the price and doesn't last

Creative and Kind
The clothes at Black Milk are incredibly creative so I ordered a dress as a gift. There was an issue with the delivery of my order, but the kind people at Black Milk resolved it without any fuss. The person who received the dress was thrilled!

Every piece is unique
I have bought several pieces from BlackMilk since February 2023, and everything has been incredible quality! Had a little open seam in my last dress, but the team quickly came with a generous solution to fix the issue and I am very pleased with the kindness and service this team has shown me.
