Our aim is simple: to offer truly wonderful experiences in truly exceptional houses, for groups of friends and families. We have curated our fabulous collection of large houses to rent with great care. Each and every house has been hand-picked with those truly wonderful experiences in mind. All have oodles of space, luxury as standard, and unique features that add the ‘wow’ factor.
We’re a family business. It started with just the two of us; husband and wife duo, Gareth and Claire Allen. We’re developing a team of lovely like-minded people around us as we grow, who will make sure we never lose that family business feel. And that means we’ll never lose that level of personal service that our wonderful guests have come to love.
We are selective. And unapologetically so. We feature only houses we’d be genuinely excited about staying in ourselves. It’s not about numbers for us – we’re happy to keep our collection of properties small and beautiful if that means we can recommend each property with confidence and pride.

Great Oak Farm sets the standard for large family accommodation
We thoroughly enjoyed our return visit to Great Oak Farm.
Our group ranged in age from 11 to 88, and the house worked perfectly for everyone. The thoughtful layout meant that different generations could enjoy their own space, allowing everyone to relax without worrying about disturbing one another.
We have stayed in many large holiday homes for our annual family get-togethers, and we can honestly say we have never found another property that comes close to Great Oak Farm.
Some of the highlights were:
• An exceptionally well-equipped kitchen. It had absolutely everything we could have needed and more. The two dishwashers, along with the generous supply of complimentary dishwasher tablets, made catering for (and clearing up after) a large group effortless. There is also an abundance of crockery, cutlery, mugs and glasses, which is something we've found lacking in many other large holiday rentals.
• Every bedroom has its own en-suite. This is surprisingly difficult to find in a property of this size and made a huge difference to our stay.
• Everything worked. It may seem like an unusual thing to mention, but we've stayed in properties where essential appliances such as ovens, hobs and dishwashers haven't been working. At Great Oak Farm, everything was in excellent condition and functioned exactly as it should. Overall the houses and grounds are very well maintained.
• The welcome gifts. These were a wonderful surprise and incredibly generous, both in quality and quantity. It was a lovely touch that made us feel genuinely welcomed as soon as we arrived.
• Beds and bedding. Quite possibly the most comfortable beds, pillows, duvets and bedding was all exceptional quality.
Great Oak Farm sets the standard for large family accommodation. We wouldn't hesitate to return again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a spacious, comfortable and beautifully maintained property for a family gathering.

It’s especially rewarding to hear your comments about the thoughtful layout, exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, en-suite bedrooms, comfortable beds, and the care that goes into maintaining both the property and its grounds. We know these details make a real difference for larger groups, so it's wonderful to hear they helped make your stay so enjoyable.
To say that Great Oak Farm sets the standard for large family accommodation is such high praise, and we're incredibly grateful that you took the time to share your experience. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to the owners, who will be thrilled to read them.

Great company to hire a house from
Great company to hire a house from! Communication was great throughout and all instructions were given thoroughly before check in. We stayed at the Three Little Pigs for a hen party of 15 women and it was beautiful! Very happy with the host too who greeted us at check in and check out.
2 things for improvement.
1. The cleanliness of the house at check in wasn’t as great as we hoped. A lot of pots were dirty and we had to wash all of the mugs at check in before we used them.
2. You have to pay a £1000 damage deposit by bank transfer. This is a lot of money to ask of people for a bank transfer and would be better if you could use credit card as we had to source this money. But it was returned to us 3 days after we checked out which was great.
Apart from that everything from the booking process, to check in was great! I’d just maybe recommend a different cleaning company for the Three little pigs house.

Hi Sophie,
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Three Little Pigs, that the booking process and communication were smooth throughout, and that the house was such a great setting for your hen party. It’s also lovely to know you received such a warm welcome from the host.
We really appreciate your constructive feedback too. We’re sorry to hear that the cleanliness of some of the kitchen items wasn’t up to the standard you expected on arrival. This certainly isn’t the experience we want our guests to have, and we’ll be discussing your comments with the owners and housekeeping team to help ensure this is addressed.
Thank you also for your comments regarding the cautionary deposit. We appreciate that a bank transfer may not be everyone's preferred method. We use this process across our properties as the most secure and efficient way to manage deposits, and we're pleased to hear that yours was returned promptly just a few days after your stay.
Thank you again for your kind words and helpful feedback. We’d be very happy to welcome you back again in the future.
Best wishes,

Brockhall Park, excellent property for families
We had a fantastic family time at this property. The fabulous pool, the acres of land and the outside seating kept three generations extremely happy and busy, we would have all loved to stay longer. The cinema room was a big hit with the children and the house felt lived in so had a homely feel to it. The Big House Team were very friendly and helpful from start to finish. Would highly recommend this house and the company.

Our family get together at Brynglas Manor
Our family get together at Brynglas Manor was wonderful. A beautiful spacious old house with excellent facilities for the 10 of us (aged between 13 and 81 years old). The extensive outdoor space and garden were a real benefit as we had great weather and were able to eat outside on 3 of the 4 nights we stayed. Loads of space inside as well so we were all able to spread out and relax. The views and sunsets were brilliant! Would recommend for similar family gatherings without question.

Was a family celebration
Was a family celebration.
Rooms were all clean and tidy and great location. Went to Lowestoft and into Norwich . Plenty for the children to do, they loved the games room and the hot tub.
Would have scored more but I stayed in top double bedroom with en-suite and there was a smell of drains. It would also have been good if the mobile number given responded to my call.

Just Perfect!
Olive House is a wonderful place to spend time with an extended family group. The outdoor spaces were perfect for relaxing chatting, eating, swimming and spreading out! Very thoughtfully and flexibly designed.inside, all the bedrooms are a pleasure to be in, and the bathrooms beautiful too. Lots of breakout spaces on the ground floor, fabulous kitchen and dining area. Everything has been designed with entertaining and being entertained in mind - too many examples to mention! Juliet was very helpful with anything we had questions about both beforehand and during our stay. We were made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. Would love to go again!

Courtyard Granary
Details of property were very accurate and they suited our needs perfectly. The location was excellent, handy for all the East Yorkshire coast. The property was very well equipped and as we were on holiday with lots of children of varying ages, it wasn’t too perfect that I was panicking about breakages etc. ( In the end 1 mug handle in a week stay with 6 adults and 6 children was brilliant)

An excellent place for our family stay
Pengarth Castle was an excellent place for our family stay. There were 20 of us - from grandparents (their 80th birthdays) to parents to teenage grandchildren. We all loved it. The rooms were lovely - each with beautiful sea or garden views. We had dinners at the long table in the Hall or ouside overlooking the water. We spent time in the hot-tub, had a medieval reenactment, a black-tie evening, a big poker game, and, unfortunately, even watched England, on the large TV, lose their World Cup football game. We also saw the young Osprey at the nearby local centre make their first flights. A memorable holiday.

It sounds like you packed so much into your time there—from family dinners overlooking the water and relaxing in the hot tub to a medieval re-enactment, black-tie evening, poker night, and even watching the football together! Seeing the young ospreys take their first flights must have been a very special bonus too.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’d be absolutely delighted to welcome you and your family back again in the future.

We had a fantastic stay at The Big House Experience at The White Hart in Brigg
We had a fantastic stay at The Big House Experience at The White Hart in Brigg. The house was perfect for our group, with plenty of space for everyone to relax, socialise, and enjoy the weekend together.
One of the highlights was having access to the keg system. We stocked it with Dark Fruit and beer, which was a great touch and really added to the experience. It made the house feel unique and was ideal for spending quality time together without needing to head out.
The property was clean, well maintained, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is also great, with Brigg town centre within easy reach if you want to explore.
Overall, The Big House Experience is a brilliant option for large groups looking for a fun, private getaway. We'd definitely recommend it and would happily book again in the future.
